Javier did a great job with our second master, bathroom, and casita. We are very pleased with the job. The price is very reasonable.

Initially, I contacted six painting companies. Three of the contacted companies failed to show up. Two of the remaining companies kept trying to sell additional services and did not even provide written quotes. The owner of Marcel Painting came to my house as scheduled and provided a quote the same day. The decision was easy. The crew arrived on the scheduled day and finished on time. Aside from a minor issue with some repairs, the work was excellent. My house will need to be painted again, sometime in the next ten to twelve years and the only call I will make is to Marcel Painting. read more

Word of mouth referrals have always carried weight with me. I was referred to Marcel Painting by a co-worker, and I was told that the owner, Kelly, is a really nice guy and his crews did great work. That is exactly what my wife and I experienced when we got an estimate to repaint the exterior of our house. Kelly has remarkable communication. His estimate was very clear on the work included, and it offered upgrades to better paint products with better warranties. The fact that he recommends using Dunn Edwards paints speaks for itself. If you know your paint, you know they make some of the best (locally). Kelly even went out of his way to use his color scanner to identify the body color for the job. And, my co-worker was right. Kelly is a really nice guy! It gets better. The crew that showed up to paint our house were both super nice, professional, thorough, and fast! They worked a long hard day and turned our humble abode into a gem. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the updated look, and we intend to have Marcel Painting back soon to repaint our living room and vaulted ceiling. There are lots of painting options out there and you might find someone who will do the work for nothing. But are they ROC? Do they have insurance for their employees? Are they pleasant to deal with? Marcel Painting offers all of this for a very reasonable price. How reasonable? Guess you better get an estimate. Then, spread the word! read more

Marcel Painting completed the entire interior of a single family residential rental for us and did a tremendous job! Eric provided a professional quote at a reasonable price and Samuel completed the painting exactly to specs. It was a quality job that will keep up the value of the home for many years to come. I recently purchased my second home and really wanted to paint the exterior prior to moving in. I did some research and found Marcel Painting. It started off great. Dean went to the house and sent me the estimate which I felt was a great price and I appreciated that level of service already. I moved forward to book for the exterior paint of the house and then things kind of went silent. I am not sure what I EXPECTED but there were no direction provided on next steps. I thought they would provide overview of paint options or schemas but not ... radio silence! I did reach out to see what were next steps and only then I was told to go to Dunn Edwards and they can help me. For someone that this is there first time doing this I expected a little more help. So when I sent over the colors I chose and the type of paint, I received a note saying "this color will require more than one coat" I had no context to what that meant. Does that mean extra days? Does that mean more money? On the day that the painter showed up he seemed really nice and was very meticulous. It took him 2.5 days and I felt he did a great job. I had followed up with Dean to see could we add the brick wall but never heard back which is ok. Overall, I am happy with the work done and looove the final product. The 4 stars are 100% because the painter was amazing and did such a wonderful job - the stars are for him! I wish the customer service was a little better and instead of feeling just like a transaction it would have been great to feel like a client! read more

We had previously used Marcel Painting about 10 years ago on our old house and I'm glad they're still around so they could repaint our current house. Their pricing was very competitive and I appreciated their giving me a choice to upgrade paint and warranty (or not). Javier and his son were on time and very courteous. They did a great job prepping the entire house, especially getting our old wooden gates ready to be painted. I had thought we might need to replace the gates, but with the great prep and new paint, really look great. We've gotten multiple compliments from the neighbors and are quire happy with the results. The pictures don't really do it justice! read more

Great company! Just had my house painted, it looks beautiful, they did everything I wanted, even the gates look like new! Workers very nice and willing! Company did not take care of the existing peeling paint on my outdoor stucco walls. Within a week of painting the paint peeled off again in huge chunks. There are several places that appear to be missing paint, could be peeling paint again, its too high up for me to investigate. Its pretty obvious they went as cheap as they could, which makes it difficult to sell my property with such crappy work. read more

We had a great experience with Marcel Painting. The owner, Kelly, came by for our estimate and was happy to quote out other projects we might do in the future. The bid was reasonable and they were able to get us on the schedule within a few weeks. They told us it would probably take a day and half to paint out kitchen and bathroom cupboards, and to our surprise, they finished in one day. We're quite happy with the work that was done! read more

Kelly did everything he could to make the homeowners of Vista Villa Townhomes complete. Only one homeowner complained and Kelly offered to make it right but he refused to even let him on the property to correct the issue. I've learned there is always one individual who simply enjoys making others miserable, best thing is to ignore them. I appreciate everything Kelly has tried to do, it speaks highly of his character. read more

Marcel painting painted the exterior of my home & fixed the drywall. It was an easy and enjoyable from start to finish. Poor customer service. Made an appointment to get a paint quote, then had the appointment cancel within 24 hours of meeting. Was told I would receive a quote later the next week as appraiser would stop by at a date and time that was convenient for him (not necessary that we be home). Checked back for the next 2+ weeks and received nothing! Guess company is doing well that they don't need new clients!! read more

The 3rd time this company has come out to fix their peeling paint. In the process got paint on my new sunscreens - said they would fix, but never did. Paint chips are ALL over the rocks and the turf and I still see hunks of paint peeling off. Would not recommend at all. read more

Marcel Painting did a fantastic job adding a fresh coat of paint to my 1935 bungalow in Coronado. They came on-site to do the estimate and asked the right questions to provide a very competitive estimate. Marcel did an exterior-only paint job to prepare the home to hit the market for sale. The crews showed up on-time and were very professional and performed the work in a timely manner. Very satisfied customer. read more

I've previously happily used Marcel to paint my full house and yard. They've also done an indoor project or two. Recently, I had my whole back yard repainted in a new color, including a built in fire pit and seating and built in outdoor kitchen. It looks AMAZING. I want to start this off by saying I did not end up working with this company on my exterior paint job. I had found them from yelp and also gotten a referral from a coworker but it didn't pan out in the end. I called in and the call was a bit odd. A lot of background noise and some shouting was heard while I was on the phone waiting to be helped. Once I got them to come out to get an estimate it went well and I was given a good value. The issue came when talking back and fourth with the company however. I tried to see what could be done to make it budget friendly and was given a "discount" but even though I spoke with the same person I ended up getting 3 different prices for the same thing. It lacked consistency and when I very directly pointed it out, I wasn't given a response but another adjusted estimate that was still incorrect. I get that I did try to get a better price but when your talking with a potential customer consistency is key. Especially if this is done via email and everything is documented there for you to refer back to when needed. Fairly disappointed this didn't pan out for the job to be accepted. read more

2nd or maybe 3rd time they are pressure washing the building due to huge paint chips peeling off. I live in an HOA and the painters from Marcel came to my door this morning to tell me they are pressure washing (again). I reminded that I had new sunscreens and to make sure they covered them. They did not. Left backyard a huge mess! Would NEVER hire these folks and not sure why the HOA did? Either using very cheap paint, or the walls weren't prepped correctly in the first place. Just went outside and saw the area where it's been (so called) pressure washed, that there is still large chunks of paint hanging there. Absolutely the worst! They ruined my sunscreen and all the paint chips again embedded in the rock and artificial grass!! Horrible!! read more

We first found Marcel Painting when our son moved into his first home. The estimate that we got from Dean (might I mention on time) for was reasonable. However my sons budget (first time home owner) did not allow for it. So jump forward to now (actually January 2019) and our home was in need for paint. We called Marcel again, and Dean came out, (again on time) and did an estimate for our home. Once again the estimate was on point and with in our budget. So we moved forward. Now here is when I tell you they went beyond the call when it came to attention to detail, and you get what you pay for. Our job took 3-4 days and we had 5 colors plus mid-way we changed our minds, and asked to have the ceilings painted at the last minute. Let me tell you !!!! Choosing Marcel was the right choice for us. When they came out to prep our home for paint which meant taping up the home windows, light fixtures, trim, walls, and more. At the end of day one of the prep our home looked like the medical scene from the movie E.T. ( you know, Phone, home) There was plastic everywhere, and it was all in the right places. Now let me tell you about the two man team that came out to do the work. These two guys where on time, and went right to it, obviously not there first rodeo. I'm not great at remembering names but one guy was Jose, and he was the one we talked to about anything that came up (last minute celling paint) him and the other guy where just good people!! Heck everyone we had contact with at Marcel where good people. In fact the two ladies (again forgot their names) that we talked to to set-up the estimates where really nice. You know the kind of nice when you speak to some one they hear you, and our willing to help. Like I said good people. Okay so Im sure you get it by now we would recommend Marcel Painting. Ill be sure to post some pictures if I can read more

Great company. I have 3 single family rental properties that needed to be painted. I called Marcel based upon 2 referrals I had gotten from friends who had worked with various companies and determined that Marcel did the best job. Everyone I encountered throughout my experience with Marcel was friendly, focused on the customer, and was able to answer all of my questions. The quality of their work is excellent. I have had many years of experience dealing with all kinds of painters due to being a landlord and I can honestly say that the quality of the work is hands down the best I have seen. I am currently getting ready to paint a large commercial apartment complex and the bid I received from Marcel was very reasonable. I always like to keep my options open, but Marcel painters will be hard to beat. read more

During a home renovation I hired Marcel Painting several times. We gutted a big chunk of our house so the first time they came out it was to remove the popcorn ceilings in every room. The second time was to paint the interior. The third was to paint the exterior. Every time they were fast, clean and paid good attention to detail. They removed the popcorn from the whole house in just 2 days and it looked great. For the interior paint we have an accent wall in the living room that is a different color than the other walls and they did a great job on the edges. They did it by hand and it looks perfect - no color bleeding or wavy lines. When it came to the exterior the job ended up being more work than we originally thought it would be (more prep) but they worked until it was done. They were very concerned with doing quality work and didn't rush even if it was more days than originally planned. They were very cautious to cover anything that shouldn't be painted and cleaned up everything afterwards. And they are VERY affordable! I highly recommend Marcel for any painting job, big or small. read more
