Maral helped to alter my bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding. Calling is the way to get ahold of her and schedule something. She worked around my work schedule which I appreciated. She had me come in to try on my dress so she could take measurements. Her office is small, but she has a changing area in the back corner. She had me try on dress for her and stand on a platform while she pinned. She worked quickly but diligently to pin it all up. I paid her when I dropped off my dress and she gave me a ticket to pick it up. The cost was $80, which I was a bit surprised, i thought it was going to be more, because there were several layers to the dress. I don't get gowns hemmed all the time so I'm not sure if thats comparable or not, but I was satisfied. I dropped off my dress July 6th, and I needed it by September 1st, she scheduled me to come back and pick it up August 10th. The week of August 10th rolls around and I called to confirm the pick up and I had to change the time. She said that was fine, and then let me know that she had to take my dress to dry cleaners, because during alterations it got some sewing machine oil on it. So I did what people said and called ahead of time and during this call she seemed annoyed stating that she has too many orders already. I told her that all I needed was a very simple quick fix on two pairs of jeans, one needed a new metal button and the other needed the loop hole where the belt goes to be sewn back on. Let's just say she didn't seem friendly and not even a hi or hello upon entering her shop, just a blank stare. For the botton, she straight rejected my idea of putting another standard metal button because she felt like it wouldn't work.... Instead she suggested just sewing a button on.... Long story short I ended up just ordering metal buttons from Amazon. As for the loop repair she didn't charge me much and fixed it right away but my only complaint is that since it was such an easy fix, why didn't she try to match the rest of stitching on the jeans? Sounds petty and it's something so small no one will see but does that mean if it were a bigger item that the quality of work would have been equally bad on a larger scale? The top is where it was fixed but the stitching all around the pants are like the one on the bottom. I mean it's so small no one will see it but the first impression also is deterring me from coming back. Maral helped me fix my wedding dress. It was a unique experience because we both were going through many challenges in life. My original wedding date was in June 2020. I brought the dress to Maral in Nov 2019 to size it down (the top opening was too big) and shorten the length. Before that I had already shopped around. Unfortunately no one could offer their service at an affordable price due to the intricate beadwork on the dress. Maral came up with a creative solution which would greatly reduce the amount of beadwork involved. Her price was also very reasonable. The only problem was her husband just had a major surgery so she could not work on it right away. I assured her that we had plenty of time and we wouldn't mind waiting. 2020 wasn't an easy year. It turned out we had to postpone our wedding from June to Dec. Maral had to close her shop for a while due to the stay-at-home order. In the meantime her husband went through more surgeries (thank God he was a strong fighter and survived)! We called each other a few times. She was always kind, caring, understanding, and professional. Long story short, I got my dress back in Nov 2020. It was PERFECT!! And we had such a beautiful wedding up on the mountains. My normal alterations person was out of the country so I went to Maral's because I saw that she recieved 5 stars. BEWARE! She gets one star because it doesn't allow no stars. There is no way her work is considered professional. Otherwise, she had someone else alter my daughter's dress. Also, she was unbelievably unprofessional and rude when I expressed my dissatisfaction of the work done. She made a bow tie out of the excess dress material and sowed the velcro on backwards, and her stitching of the straps and taking in the dress was a complete mess. Seriously! I had to take it to another alteration place to fix her mess. I have to believe people don't post negative comments because you can't remain anonymous. I just wish I knew, so that is why I'm posting. I have used Maral twice and have been so so pleased with her work as well as her customer service. I had a bridesmaid dress taken in a few years ago and it was a high end, fully sequined dress and she nailed it. A few weeks ago, 5 days before my wedding, my lovely husband decided to finally try on his pants for his suit and discovered they were a bit baggy and not fitted correctly by men's warehouse. The first person i called was maral and she squeezed him in that afternoon and had his pants done in two days. Bought my gown on Thursday night August 5, 2021 when I got home I tried it on but the gown was to long and has a big opening in the back and I want it to altering to make it smaller And bring it upward and I really need it done badly. She made the fitting quick and painless, and her pricing, which she let me know up front, was very reasonable. Though I had given her three weeks until I needed my dress, and even though she clearly had a considerable amount of orders to fill, when I returned to have my sister's dress altered just over a week later my gown was already finished! Absolute livesaver! I contacted Maral 2 weeks ago with my bridesmaid dress which fit but only if I held my breath. Who can hold their breath for an entire wedding? After frantic internet research I asked her what could be done? She told me that she could fix it and no, I didn't have to add a corset back (like I worried). She didn't want me to have to spend too much. She had me put the dress on and easily made a decision about what to do and told me not to worry.
