I've gone to this place a couple of times now.... And while l've had simple hemming jobs done and it turns out okay, there's some drawbacks. The location can be a pain due to parking being a issue in Old town. Also, they only take cash or check which is an inconvenience--at least that was for me. And lastly, they aren't always open the hours that's posted on the door. Sometimes she closes an hour earlier . Oh and you'd better not lose your ticket. You'll have to show ID and even then, she seems to really not like that you lost your ticket -- I lost my ticket :/ read more

I had a pair of pants that needed to be altered for a wedding in just a few days. I knew it was last minute and that it might be hard to get it in and done but honestly i think the last time i had ever gone somewhere to have something altered was over 10 years ago... so not something i get done very often but i figure me being a guy and just getting some pants shortened shouldn't be too much trouble. I called sew-n-so first and as soon as i heard the guy's voice that answered it kind of solidified all the expectations of all the horror stories of "last minute wedding alterations" that i've heard before and i knew right then, this was going to be a pain in the ass. they've got great reviews and i'm sure they do great work and probably that's why they're busy but man, the guy that answered was just rushed and sounded annoyed and in a panic. It was pretty much whatever i had... it was going to be a week. i was trying to ask if i could pay more, would i get them quicker. this only seemed to fluster him more, he through out prices and said again it would be a week minimum. - whatever, gave up. Called up another place that i don't want to get into right now but i would like to mention though that if you're a business, small or large and your number is out there for people to look up, answer the phone stating what your business is. Hate businesses that just answer with "hello?" especially an OVERLY questionable "hello?" as if they've never heard their phone ring before. And then i have to confusingly ask if this is the right number or company... Anyways, that was a mess and wild goose chase. I called up a dry cleaning service that was super nice but had no idea about the alterations side since that was apparently a third-party service or something. Anyways, finally found this place. Lady was super nice, quick and convenient. being a guy it was exactly what i wanted. i went in, put the pants on, she measured and put some pins in and i was done. it was Wednesday and i told her that i needed them by Saturday for a Sunday wedding. she casually said to come back Friday and they'll be ready. sure enough, Friday and they were good to go, cheap too. quality... i have no idea... pants were shorter and they looked nice and didn't fall apart. Lady said she's been there for 25 years, just her. Pretty crazy, but yea i'd assume she knows what she's doing. it's a small little shop that i kind of hope doesn't get popular or busy and stays like a hidden gem so that in the next 10 years when i need something else altered, i can wait till the last minute again. definitely recommend this lady for guys like me, or for single items even though she said she does a bunch of wedding dresses too but not sure how she would do with volume cause i think it's literally just her. read more

I have had a few things altered here. Two bridesmaids dresses and a pair of pants that go to a suit that needed to be brought in. There open till a decent time allowing anyone the ability to bring items in. The lady who runs the shop is very nice and friendly, she never makes me feel rushed and always has my alterations done timely :) read more

Was recommended by another alteration business who could not have my dress done in a week. Called the shop and left a message. The owner returned my call promptly and said she could have my dress altered in time. Went in for an alteration with dress and shoes that same evening. The owner is sweet as can be! Told her what I needed and she agreed. Three days later I picked up my dress and let me just say it fits perfect! The alterations look like the original seams. She truly loves what she does and it shows in the quality of her work. I will gladly recommend her. read more
