Reliance Home Comfort

Reliance Home Comfort

I'm beyond frustrated with Reliance Home Comfort. Instead, the tech showed up at 2pm, rang the doorbell once, waited 2 seconds, and left. No knock, no call; even though Tim was the only person available. That doorbell is linked to my phone (which I had on me at work), so no notification reached him. Within 20 minutes, I called Reliance; was promised someone else would come before 5. Nothing. By 6pm, I was told they don't know when a technician can actually come. I've been shuffled between reps, no one takes responsibility, and I've now wasted a full day and had to cancel plans. I placed my pets in someone else's care for their comfort since Wednesday and now I still can't bring them home. As well I've been in quite a bit of discomfort in a sweltering house. Reliance failed spectacularly in communication, execution, and accountability. If you rely on their service to keep your home functional and comfortable, beware your time and comfort mean absolutely nothing to them.

I am a ten year customer with multiple appliances and the best they will do is have the google garbage checked and reinstalled. I want the damn things gone. I can not wait unit my other units contracts expire and I can have them pulled out. DO NOT use Google nest products, and do not use Reliance. Total garbage product and customer service.

Harb Plumbing

Harb Plumbing

**READ BEFORE HIRING** On the afternoon of May 26th, we had a main plumbing drain backup, and made…read morean emergency call to Harb based on location and reviews. We completely understood the situation and what it could have turned into. Before arrival we were told the cost and possiblities of the repair. After about 15 minutes, the initial clog was cleared and drainage flow was restored, we tested this with flushed toilets and taps running. We assumed that the problem was solved, and we would obviously monitor over the next few days. On June 5th (10days later) our drain line backed up again, luckily after some research and understanding of the potential issues, this time I chose to run to HD and rent their auger, and drain camera for a fraction of the price. After running the auger for roughly 10 to 20 minutes, I was able to pull back and completely clear our entire pipe of roughly 5lbs of roots. After running the camera, I was able to confirm the entire length of the drain was clear of debris. For the cost of the repair (yes it was after 5 on a Friday), we expected that the entire drainage line would have been auguerd, but clearly from what I removed from the drain that was not the case. The company also charges extra to run the camera down after to inspect, but also did not have one available to do so, and as of today (June 6th) still does not have one available. Knowing what I know now, they seem to be a renovation, new installation company and NOT a repair, troubleshoot or emergency call company. It's really to bad that even after a follow up call, there was no apology or partial refund on the service. If I asked a carpenter to hang a cabinet on the wall, basic service expectations would require him to find a stud and/or anchor it to prevent it from falling down, not just hang it and hope it holds. What Harb did was essentially unfinished, yes the drainage flowed, but there was still a lingering problem, which could have been fixed and removed if the entire length of the pipe was augered, understand your issue and be prepared to follow up and possibly have to fix it yourself.

Boonstra Heating and Air Conditioning - Maintenance man

Boonstra Heating and Air Conditioning

We also financed our tank-less water heater from Boonstra in 2021. We wanted to buy it out. The fee…read moreand the amount to be paid (if bought out) was on the contract. Yet when we called we were told that we would be charged a much higher price to buy it out. The salesmen was a con man, he provided misleading information. If you choose to deal with Boonstra carefully examine the contract for all clauses related to the buyout. And if the salesmen tells you differently have him write it down with his signature.

This review also posted on Google…read more Buyer beware! This experience is with who I presumed was a technician but turned out to be a salesman. I called to have my ducts cleaned and then to have a free inspection of my home for air quality. The "technician" did not do an inspection but asked about my furnace, age etc. He came to the conclusion that it would be best to replace my furnace as soon as possible because of age, 16 years, to avoid a breakdown (which admittedly is possible). Then we could start talking about air quality. He started quoting me these exorbitant prices for furnaces (no A/C included), anywhere from $12,000 to $15,000 stating furnace prices have gone way up. He kept calling back for a few weeks before the scheduled duct cleaning even when I told him I am going to hold off purchasing one for now since we have an Enercare maintenance/repair plan and don't want to go into debt. His offer was a "deal" of around $11,800 for a $15,000 furnace. I investigated furnace prices and found out that the price of a furnace for my home came to about $5000 to $6000! I finally cancelled the duct cleaning out of frustration and feeling deceived. I thought calling a local company that has been established here for a long time with many positive reviews would be a good idea. Rather, it seemed that the salesman was likely deceitful and out to make $$$, trying to take advantage of a couple of older folks who he thought probably would not investigate what he was up to. Deplorable conduct and I will never use Boonstra to install a furnace in this house. I really wonder if Boonstra has inflated their Google review numbers using hired reviewers. I am very disappointed by this experience and I am going to update this review for a period of time so that it comes up first in the sort as the latest review allowing others to see it right away and they are not taken advantage of. Update April 2nd - I called Boonstra to inform them of my name, address, and the date, March 30th, that the duct cleaning was scheduled for and cancelled plus gave them the name of the salesman who came over. If I remember correctly it was Sean. The response by management of "they couldn't find me in their system" is obviously a fabrication to deflect the seriousness of this negative review. It is identical to how they responded to some other reviewers who have had negative experiences. A standard answer and shameful.
