i have been dealing with their customer support team regarding a refund i am looking for. i was…read moresinged up for their monthly service agreement which included replacing furnace air filters. on my last visit in march i was told by the tech that they do not provide filters any longer but were still charging the same monthly fee of approx $23. its not a lot of money but its just that i dont like getting ripped off. I called to cancel my service with them. they continued to charge me for another 3 months until i called them back and told them to stop. now i want my refund. i have made 4 calls over the last 2 months and all i get is i will have a supervisor call you back. nothing but crickets!! they are saying no to the refund. there is no way to escalate this to a supervisor. their customer service team does not have the ability to transfer me to their supervisor so i can get someone with authority to have a discussion. I will never use this company again and will make sure to tell as many friends as possible.

Instead, the tech showed up at 2pm, rang the doorbell once, waited 2 seconds, and left. No knock, no call; even though Tim was the only person available. That doorbell is linked to my phone (which I had on me at work), so no notification reached him. Within 20 minutes, I called Reliance; was promised someone else would come before 5. Nothing. By 6pm, I was told they don't know when a technician can actually come. I've been shuffled between reps, no one takes responsibility, and I've now wasted a full day and had to cancel plans. I placed my pets in someone else's care for their comfort since Wednesday and now I still can't bring them home. As well I've been in quite a bit of discomfort in a sweltering house. Reliance failed spectacularly in communication, execution, and accountability. If you rely on their service to keep your home functional and comfortable, beware your time and comfort mean absolutely nothing to them.

This week, another technician who repaired the stove pointed out that a plate was not covering the electrical wiring behind the stove's kick plate. So, for four years, my family and I were using a GAS stove with exposed wiring just behind the kick plate. The owner came by today with a "colleague" to "investigate." His colleague admitted that a plate should cover the exposed wiring. Rather than admit this grievous oversight, the owner offered up this absurd explanation: Someone else removed the plate in the four years since the original installation. No one removed the plate. No one. Why would anyone do that? He also claims that he installed a shut off valve. I have asked the TSSA to launch an investigation. Save yourself the risk and trouble my family has unknowingly endured for four years. I urge you to choose another contractor. The owner will no doubt respond to this warning with denials and accusations. You can believe him if you want to but, if you do, you will regret it.
