I took in my pup just today and got Dr. Schini he was sooo nice and sweet to my pup. I could tell he wanted to be gentle and caring with my pup which i really appreciated. The staff were extremely nice and made me feel welcomed. They also made sure my pup was nice and warm which was kind of them (It was snowing when we came in lol). Um i'm not entirely sure why i'm not giving 5 stars but that's not too downplay on the vet or the staff. I just feel like i could have asked more questions (which is entirely my fault) and be told more information ... read more

This clinic is great. Staff are all very kind, and services are very reasonable. I was expecting to pay a very large sum for my cat to have and extraction and his teeth cleaned, but was pleasantly surprised to find they decided he didn't need the extraction after all. Saved me tons of money. I'll definitely keep going to this clinic! read more

Dr. Schini and staff are friendly, helpful and informative. Dr Schini treated our dog for a cut paw. We assured him that we would be able to keep the paw clean at home and based on that and his past experience with stitches in paw pads he explained fully why stitches might not be the best option in this case. No up-selling here and we thought it was a thoughtful decision. read more

I've been taking my two dogs here for five years and I can attest to the fact that the vets and techs are all very nice, friendly, helpful and most of all, knowledgeable. They don't try to sell you procedures or products that you don't need. I knew Staci C. had to be talking about another clinic in her post and I'm glad the clinic confirmed and corrected her. Go take a tour! read more

My 20lb shitzhu-poodle had a growth under her jaw and I was able to get a same day appointment here for help. The veterinary technicians were extremely kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Meyers was gentle and sure with Annabelle and immediately took charge. After she explained that the growth was the result of an infection (not cancer!), she dealt with my tears with assurance and explained to me at length the procedure and the charges. What -really- set this place apart was the after care. I received 3 phone calls from the clinic, 2 from the vet techs and 1 from Dr. Meyers herself, asking about Annabelle after her procedure. They encouraged my questions: when I had some concerns about Annabelle's behavior a couple of days after the procedure, I called and got immediate feedback on what to do. I can't rave enough about the people who work at this facility, and I'm never taking Annabelle anywhere else. THANK YOU! read more

We've been bringing out two dogs to Maple Leaf Veterinary Care for about 6 years now. At other vets, we have felt like customers, at Maple Leaf we feel like family. They have always offered the best care to our dogs. Checkups are thorough and professional. Dr. Schini and Dr. Dittrich are both great with our pets and with us. They take the time to make our dogs feel comfortable in the veterinary setting and take the time to explain to us what they are doing and what care might be needed. We have had a few surgeries performed here as well. The dogs are always treated well. Pre- and Post-Surgery appointments are always clear with what to expect and there have never been any surprises. We have also had to call in several times with "So my dog ate..." questions. They have always been accessible (we once received a call back from a vet who was out on vacation!) and offered advice as to how serious the situation may be and explained what the next steps are. They take the time to make sure we're comfortable with everything. All in all, we couldn't recommend Maple Leaf Veterinary Care any higher. If you take your pets here, you will get only the best! read more

I took my chihuahua in today for his first visit here and I must say- the staff and veterinarian were simply fantastic. From the second we walked in, they could see Taco was stressed out and shaking. They quickly made him feel at ease by giving him extra TLC. :) We will definitely be returning! read more

I have been to over 14 different vets since i moved to seattle 2 years ago, i was getting annoyed with the horrible customer service and lack of care for my pets at most places. I finally came here and have found the vet I will continue to go back to (even though it is a little out of my way as far as driving) The receptionists are always so nice and they always remember my dogs name and I feel like they are genuinely happy to see her and they really care about animals. The Vet isnt too pushy which i like and leaves decisions up to me as far as medications that i am comfortable with. I love that I am not just another client to them but treated as a friend. And my dog gets super excited to come here so if she likes this place then i like this place ! :) wouldnt go to any other vet read more

I came here because it was close to my house and also because of the great reviews I read here on Yelp. My Chihuahua "GinaFur Lopez" had been missing for eight days up north of Granite Falls. Luckily she was found (praise Jesus) and I called the vet immediately to make an appointment to get her looked over. My Gina is a very nervous dog and yet she was very relaxed around all three of the people that worked at the Vet office. The cost wasn't too bad and they even gave me an estimate of future services that they recommend her getting (like getting spayed, micro-chipped and bloodwork). All in all, great vet and great staff. read more

I took my cat Slumber in for a tooth extraction. While the cost was kind of high I was very happy with the staff and they really did their best to make sure my cat was comfortable. I believe I'll be making this my regular vet. read more

Good care for my dog and cat, no horrible pushing of unnecessary services (Almost 5 cats per year die of uromicytisis poisoning, get this 400 dollar vaccine!). They gave my dog a nice treat and cuddled with my cat, so they're OK in my book. read more

I've been meaning to write this for a very long time- but these folks saved our dog, Lola. We had been taking her to a different vet recommended by the shelter we adopted her from; she started having issues where she was making messes but not eating- even people food! The vet couldn't figure out the issue, by sheer chance we had just received her microchip info in the mail with the name of the vet that chipped her- Maple Leaf. We thought maybe they had some health history. We set up the appointment and called ahead to ask about the issues- they gave us suggestions and then set up a fast appointment. Dr. Schini figured out the issue really quickly- Addison's disease! She had started an Addison's crash and we almost lost her- but with the meds she immediately improved and is well maintained on medication to this day- 5 years later! We have since moved to Puyallup and still make the drive every month to Maple Leaf- the doctors and staff are all wonderful and really care about the animals they work with. I would recommend Maple Leaf Vet to anyone- we will never go anywhere else! read more

Wow, seriously I couldn't have been happier. We took in our 3 month old pup because we just got her and the previous owner never took her to the vet (seriously??). I was referred to here from another vet since apparently they bring in another veterinarian for overflow. The other vet said they were booked out 2 months and I might've been able to get in sooner at Maple Leaf. I was able to schedule an appointment 3 days later! They were very COVID friendly and my dog had a wonderful experience. Never once was she nervous around the people who came to pick her up and drop her off. They were all very educated and always had the answer to my questions. Even with COVID they allowed multiple opportunities for me to ask questions and never made me feel silly or uneducated for the questions I asked. They gave my dog vaccinations, dewormer, flea inspection, ear inspection, a nail trim, a fecal exam, and a new puppy toy. It was all reasonably priced! I will definitely be going back. read more

last month, i bring my 6 moth Cavalier King Charles Spaniel- Domino to visit Dr. Karen for puppy exam, and she is very friendly, and professional. she check very detail about my Domino's heart, and give him a Rabies Shot, my Domino didn't feel he got a shot because Dr. Karen used a trick to shot him. and Dr. Karen is very young but professional. she has a clinic dog named Olive, also she has a kitty. When she is talking with U, her voice is very clear and quiet. she is very patient to me. i never found the best Vet in WA. of course, if i will need a Vet again, i will go Dr. Karen again. Hope " Maple Leaf Pets Corner " will keep professional & good quality forever !!! read more

They have taken such good care of our pugs. I don't trust any other vet any more. They handle our beloved pets with love and compassion. The Prices are very reasonable. The clinic is clean and doesn't smell of animals. They don't order unnecessary tests or processured. Very pleased with this neighborhood clinic read more

Gentle, fabulous, smart care. Our Tiki (black lab) is doing great after delicate paw surgery.

I was looking for a new vet because I just wasn't completely satisfied with the one I was taking my pets to. I went to this one based on the reviews I read here on Yelp. They are helpful, friendly, caring and knowledgable. I like these people because they made me feel welcome and I feel that my dog is getting well taken care of. read more

These guys have a wonderful bed side manner. Our kitty had been in a nasty fight and they have gotten him all stitched up (literally). He had some bad things going on but he is on the mend now. Our kitty was calm and so was the staff as they looked him over and determined what needed to be done. They care about pets and it is obvious. read more

We have been trusting our pets health to Dr. Schini, Dr. Meyer & Dr. Dettrich (spelling??) since moving to Seattle three years ago. They are the most attentive and caring vets we have had. We have an eight year old chihuahua and a two year old exotic short hair persian. Whenever we go in to buy food for our little ones, they always recognize us and remember to ask about our babies! When our cat went in for neutering, he spent minimal time in a crate as the staff was constantly holding him and giving him reassurances. He ate it up! We live farther away now, but still make the trip to Lake City to the Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center. I highly recommend this clinic and will continue to make the drive for this level of veterinary excellence! read more

Our first experience with MLVCC was very positive. Not entirely pleased with where we had been going for veterinary services, I decided to try them when my Cocker Spaniel suddenly started having problems walking. I was a little panicked as I was getting ready to leave town but the staff managed to fit us in the next day. I appreciated Dr. Schini's friendly professionalism. He did a thorough exam, asked lots of questions (and listened to the answers!) and had the time to do x-rays that confirmed that she didn't have a serious problem. They were so good with my dog that she stayed calm enough for the x-rays, even without sedation - something the previous vet hadn't been able to accomplish. We got some pain pills to treat what was probably just sore muscles so now I'll be comfortable leaving her with the dogsitter while I'm gone. Hope at the front-desk was great - good with people, pets and paperwork. The tech/ vet assistant was also very friendly and efficient. I'll definitely go back when the next Cocker drama occurs. read more

Dr. Shini and his staff treat my dogs as if they were their own. Compassionate and thorough. We have two rescued greyhounds, who have special breed issues. The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating. All veterinary care is expensive, that's the cost of having pets, but I have never felt that unnecessary tests or procedures were ordered. read more

Very satisfied with first appointment, which was booked for the same week. They give an appointment reminder call which helps. Everything well explained and as Michelle T said they were nothing but personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. read more

I'm new to the neighborhood and happened to get a postcard sent to the previous tenant for this clinic. I kept the postcard since I was new and when my dog had a terrible terrible diarrhea issue I took him in. Really he had a bigger systemic issue that no vet had resolved. This vet listened carefully, put a lot of mental energy into questions and truly seeking a solution and provided me with medications that actually worked. My dog recovered completely and I can't tell you how happy I am. I am so grateful to Mapleleaf Vet Clinic. As a side I came in an hour early by mistake and they fit me in without much delay for which I was grateful. read more

The staff seems to care almost as much about my pet as I do, and that's just a miracle these days. Today was my husband and I's first experience with euthanasia for our 17yo cat. Dr. Schini came to our home, shed some tears himself (incredibly meaningful to us), tenderly explained what happened before it did and then gave us the time we needed at each point. I didn't know such caring and professionalism existed still. No matter the price, and we found this whole process amazingly affordable with the very helpful house call version, Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center transforms our pet care. Thanks! The litter mate of our dearly departed is ok so far and will be followed by this staff. Katy and Scott in North Seattle read more

I moved to Seattle four weeks ago along woth Izaak, our 4 year old Vizsla. While he is healthy, he was in need of a vaccination and annual exam. Not knowing people in the area, I turned to Yelp for help in finding a Vet. Thanks for turning us on to Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center. It is within walking distance of our house--a big plus-- the staff is friendly and efficient, Dr. Dittrich was warm, informative and thorough. I particularly like their attention to follow-up. The day after Izaak received his shots someone from the office called to see if he was having an reactions and today, after dropping off a stool sample around noon, I received a call with results at 3 pm. You can't get any better than that. read more

In the past, my little girl kitty has always been very uncooperative while receiving veterinary care. Some veterinarians have been intimidated by her. However, Dr. Schini at the Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center has been wonderful with her. Past veterinarians have had to sedate her, but Dr. Schini has never had to do that. He must inspire great trust. It's amazing. In addition, all the staff have been friendly and helpful. Previously, taking her to the vet has always been very unpleasant and stressful. Though it's never really fun to have to get your animal medical care, Dr. Schini and his staff make it a much better experience. I really recommend this clinic. read more

I used to trust this clinic, but no more. Recently, Dr. Deitrich wanted to pull about a dozen teeth from my four year old dog's mouth during a routine dental cleaning. When I agreed to only let her remove four, she acted very cold. Later when I picked my dog up, nobody spoke with me about what was done or gave me any paperwork indicating which teeth were extracted. We later noticed that there appeared to be remnants of two of the teeth that were removed. My husband took our dog back in to talk with Dr. Schini. The doctor pointed out that there were two tiny teeth behind those that were removed. They then proceeded to charge us $48 for the visit! For something that should have been done when we paid $450 for the dental. Dr. Schini finally agreed to credit our account (clinic account) after both my husband and I complained to him. I suspect that they like to do extractions because there is an additional $108 dental extraction charge on the bill. This used to be a good clinic, but something very strange is going on. Maybe they're losing money. But unfortunately they've lost my trust. read more

Although the facility and staff have been friendly and competent for annual check-ups and scheduled visits, I have not found them to be very accommodating when our dog was sick. They were not thorough over the phone to determine if the dog's symptoms deemed bringing him in for a visit - especially because the only person I was able to speak to was the front office staff. Additionally I was brushed aside and told to try and find somewhere else to bring him because they were too busy over the following days. I don't know about anyone else, but I want a vet that is available and willing to discuss health problems not only when the dog is due for shots, but when he is sick as well. I found a new vet. read more

If you go to this Clinic and they tell you that your pet needs to be rechecked, make sure not to leave until they have scheduled you in for all your recheck visits. I was told by Dr. Meyer and the assistant to bring Roxy back in 24-48 hours. When they called me the next day, I told them I would be in the next day at 10:00 am for Roxy's recheck. The assistant said that would be best, but the next day I was scolded by Melody and was told by her that she told me not to come that day and that they were too busy/booked to see my Roxy who then lost her eyeball. I had called to be polite before I left because I was on a tight schedule that day and wanted to make sure Roxy wouldn't have to wait long. That's when she told me on the phone that they were too busy. I told her that this was the ONLY time we had, I had to work and that I was told the day before that 10:00 am was fine. She called me an hour later, too late. Such bad bad bad customer service! She was condescending, rude, and made me feel unwelcome! I will never go back as long as she works there! The Customer is Always right and she deliberately tried to act like The almighty and try to prove me wrong. That's all she cared about, being right and her schedule! Now my dog has one eye. And yes, I would agree with all of you, this clinic is way too expensive. They charge $30 for a cone that should only cost $8. read more

Insensitive, all about the money--NOT the animals If I could give no stars, I would. This place is down the street from my house, so when I moved here last year, I took my pets to MLVCC. My little guys saw Drs. Dittrich and Meyers. Both doctors were nice enough but never ever told me how much anything would cost, and I always felt like I was being sold excessive and unnecessary services. Front desk staff, and Dr. Schini are condescending, insensitive, unprofessional, and unfriendly. If you want to take your pets to a vet who has an old-fashioned love for people and animals, who displays honest professionalism, and whom you can trust to consider your feelings, as well as your wallet, this is NOT the vet for you. If you like to pay exorbitant prices, or if you're "too cool" to ask silly questions about prices, ethics, or cost vs benefit, this is the right place for you. If you enjoy being talked down to, feeling like nothing more than a transaction, and being treated like a jerk for asking questions, Dr. Schini's your man. read more

Just moved to the neighborhood a couple of months ago. My fiance and I have multiple cats and dogs between us, and we weren't sure we still wanted to trek the 15miles to their old vets. We took our cat Frances in a couple months ago for a little checkup and on accident, we got to talking to Dr. Androski about the various destructive things Frances does when we are sleeping to get our attention. This has been going on for years and has interrupted our sleep almost every night and we weren't sure what to do. Dr. Androski was so gentle and nice to my very frightened cat, and gave her a prescription to help her calm down a little at night. She diagnosed it as separation anxiety, and the medicine worked great. We are actually able to sleep at night now and Frances seems much happier and better able to deal with us not paying attention to her 24/7. Today, I was just picking up a routine refill of the prescription when I noticed the doctor had left a handwritten note and printed online materials to further help Frances. We have also gotten a couple checkup calls over the months. I've had perfectly good vets before who have done none of these things. It feels so nice to have a vet that genuinely cares about my cat's wellbeing. Thank you so much! read more

WOW! I just met with Dr. Schini for the first time, and I couldn't be more thrilled. He was knowledgeable, thorough, and helpful. Every other vet we've seen has charged exorbitant fees and pushed numerous drugs and allergy testing on us. Dr, Schini encouraged us to monitor our dog and assured us that her symptoms weren't as severe as other vets had led us to believe. In addition to this moderate approach regarding antibiotics, he found a problem area that other vets have overlooked. So he's simultaneously thorough, considerate, intelligent, and pleasant. Well Done Maple Leaf Vet Center! read more

We have brought our pets here for some years. It seems to me for the most part we always saw a different vet each time which worried me a bit. Who are all these new vets and why so much turn over here? How much experience do they have? Then one of our cats was throwing up and a not feeling well. (she had a history of IBD so we thought it might be a flare up). We took her in and again it was a new vet we haven't seen before. She suggested a blood test and ultrasound. We did the blood work first. She called with the results and said they weren't normal and there was some kidney disease but wait and see and the course of action is to just check back in 3 months for another test. OK. Little did we know at the time she was in second to third stages of CKD and some methods to slow the progress and improve her quality of life should have started ASAP but that was not conveyed to us with these test results (there is a very standard common protocol followed by other vets based what her elevated levels were). There was no explanation, no alarm bells of how serious this is, no treatment suggestions to slow it, nothing. Just check back in 3 months. So when 3 months passed we decided to take her to a new vet because we were tired of the turn over and her problem (we still didn't understand the CKD affect because it was not explained) was not being resolved. The new vet took her blood test and called us with horrible news. She was now past the final stages of CKD and we would need to rush her to the emergency room for fluid treatment to see if that would help her and extend her life. Not sure if it was the lack of experience of a new vet or the ability to communicate or what but the seriousness of her condition certainly wasn't addressed when it needed to be. At the emergency hospital they were wondering why her values were elevated 3 months prior and it was not addressed by this vet. It's something we will always ask ourselves as well. Lesson learned. High turn over equals not the best care. read more

I took my cat here when he was having an emergent urinary blockage and Dr. Schini, as well as all the veterinary technicians, went far out of their way to help me: treating my cat, helping me with financing, and when the situation required specialized surgery Dr. Schini himself arranged for a surgeon to treat my cat. I can say without a doubt that my cat is here today as a result of Dr. Schini and his staff- I have never met a veterinarian, or veterinary staff, that cared about animals more obviously, or was more knowledgeable and attentive. I can say without a doubt that I would not take my cat anywhere else! read more

So my 10 m.o. kitty got into a fight with his older sister and hurt his eye 5 days ago. I just called Maple Leaf Vet Center to see if they could squeeze him in in the next couple of days to make sure nothing was really wrong and help it get better faster. Originally they were going to see me tomorrow, but when the woman answering the phone heard it was his eye she squeezed me in today. Then when she heard that I had another appointment right at the end of when the vet appointment would be, even though I assured her that I would rather make sure my kitty was ok, she talked to the vet and managed to push up the vet appt by an hour. I haven't been in to see them yet but I'm blown away by the friendly reception I got as a new patient! read more
