They extended their business with a hot dog cart out front called "Wienielicious" which let me tell you is a VERY fitting name. It was one of the best hot dogs I've had from a vender and for only 3$ it was absolutely filling. But of course we couldn't pass on ice cream either!! Recently relocated from a busy retail street to now located nestled beside the Black River off of High Street has added a new level of summer to this ice cream shop. I love just sitting in their Muskoka chairs watching the river go by. Serving Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream, Moolicious has all of your classic flavours in a variety of sizes. Their serving are generous to say the least (they alone is worth a rare five stars), and the staff are super friendly. Offering ice cream and frozen yogurt there is something here for everyone. The next time I stop by I will need to check out the other store in the building - Georgina's local Board Shop. Next time you are up to the lake for a swim or camping at Sibbalds or simply out for a drive be sure to stop by Moolicious- you won't be disappointed.

In Barrie, Kawartha Dairy is a classic parlour just a short drive from the beachfront. The shop has over 40 ice cream flavours to suit your heart's desire. Initially we had trouble picking & eventually staff forgot about us. Salty Caramel Truffle and Moose Tracks are popular flavours. We stacked both fresh scoops in a small size cup that's still huge! Each spoonful is fairly rich & creamy. The salt in the caramel balanced one another well (highly recommend), while Moose Tracks was a chocolate delight to satisfy the sweet tooth. Milkshakes can also be made from any scoop. We tried the Muskoka Mocha and Pistachio Almond in this form. The mocha ice cream was perfect for coffee lovers while almond slices added a crunch to the green pistachio shake although flavours were a bit artificial. Skip it or hit it? A visit to Kawartha Dairy always puts us in a good summer vibe after a beach day in Barrie!

The place only has street parking and you have to enter and walk through a tiny alley to get to the entrance which is located at the back of the building. They had friendly staff and a variety of different ice cream flavours. Their regular 1 scoop ($4) cone was huge and you have the option of getting it in a cup. I got the butter pecan and it was delicious! Their seating is only outdoor and minimal (only 3 picnic tables) located at the entrance of the establishment. I would totally recommend if you're near by the area!

It has been popular among locals since they opened in 2008. The prices are quite reasonable at $3 for 1 scoop and $4 for 2 scoops. Even banana splits are only $5. All prices include taxes! We had a 2-scoop cone: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Pralines & Cream. Both scoops were creamy and tasty. My son really loved them but I did manage to get a little bit of both flavours. There is some savoury food served too like hot dogs, fries, poutine, and coffees. It is owned by a husband and wife team: George and Irene. Both are very pleasant people. They love having fun signs such as: "adults must be accompanied by children" and "children left unattended in this store will be sold to the circus". You can only pay by cash or e-transfer. There is no phone number because I can see they are extremely busy. You can still contact them via social media. There are picnic tables outside. During pandemic times, all staff and customers wear face masks and there is plexiglass used. Only one family is allowed in the small order area at a time. Just outside the entrance, you can be entertained by a famous saxaphone player, Orlando (a Cuban), during nice the afternoons. Today (2021-09-05), we were lucky to also have a guest keyboardist also from Cuba. There is no free WiFi. It is wheelchair  accessible. You can use a washroom by request. The ice cream sold here is Kawartha Dairy, so that bit is pretty standard. But the servings are pretty big & a single is only $3 and a double $4, including tax.
