Great Canadian Ice Cream. Lots of mazing choices. And the portions are huge. I went for a mini and it was more than I can eat. Who doesn't like Kawartha Dairy. ? A great stop if you are in the area. It even has a drive through. Lineup after dinner is crazy. We had it out the door and even on the street just to pull in. Will be back for more next time we are in town.

*** Update from our previous visit ***…read more My family had been to Era 67 in late September, and had a horrendous experience. After we posted our review the owner, Brian, contacted us to discuss what happened. He then offered for us to come back and give them another shot. We accepted, and returned this past Sunday (November 10th) When we arrived, we were seated quickly in the private room. Brian extended his apologies again and thanked us for returning. Our drink order was taken and delivered in a timely manner. My husband was impressed with his Old Fashioned, and said it was well made. We placed our appetizer and dinner choices at the same time. The appetizers were a bit slow to come out, however we attributed that to it being a busy evening. No big deal for us. We had the stuffed Yorkies, and the bruschetta. Both were excellent. Our dinners took longer than expected, but again, it was a busy night. 2 of us has the braised lamb shank, 2 had the Prime Rib special, and I had the striploin. They were worth the wait!! My brother wanted to lick his plate when he finished his lamb and said it was the best he's ever had. My steak was perfectly cooked, and the prime rib was also well enjoyed. Although we didn't have much space left, we elected to try their flourless chocolate torte for dessert, 2 pieces to be shared amongst us. It was super rich, but came with a raspberry coulis to help cut it. Excellent!! All in all, our experience was a million times better than our last. For me, personally, I do wish the food came out a bit faster, but aside from that, we were all very pleased. I've given it a 4 only because of the delay in between courses. The food was still worth the wait though. I know that my family plans to return. My mother wants to try the lamb after seeing how much my father and brother enjoyed theirs. Thanks for a great night, Brian.

People online keep complaining about how the Casino Rama buffet now sucks & is bad value & they'll…read morenever go back, but all things considered, this casino buffet is still good (distance for most patrons aside). Of course, you can see that even during dinner, not all the counter space is filled, so definitely they've scaled down from their glory days, but not many casinos nearish the GTA are doing buffets now & among the 3 I've tried this is the best (especially if you go when it's BOGO). Depending on the day, there's roast beef, roast turkey, shrimp & perch - even for lunch. Most dishes were decent, though the Southern Fried Chicken was a bit dry & lacking umami punch & the Brussels Sprouts were overcooked. There's make your own poutine and nachos. The medium rare roast beef was good or really good (get it freshly sliced). Fried perch & canneloni were excellent too. Dinner is $10 more but the one time I went for it we only got the addition of a few mediocre Chinese dishes & pre-peeled cooked shrimp (woo hoo!) Indeed there was one less soup & one less soft serve flavour compared to the two times I'd visited for lunch. The desserts are above average, with up to 4 types of soft serve! Vegan vanilla was really good: richer, creamier & more flavourful even than other places' dairy versions. Apple sorbet was excellent too, with a great apple taste.

Located inside Casino Rama, I don't think there is ever a time Couchiching Court isn't busy. Although we had reservations, there was still a long line to get in, and a separate line for walk-ins. Surprisingly, as busy as they are, they close at 9:00pm most nights, and 10:00pm on Fridays. Other restaurants on site are open later. Regardless of how many choices are available, I just can't seem to resist starting with soup and a salad bar. Is that healthy or not? My choices here were simple - Hot and Sour Soup with a Wonton thrown in, and Caesar salad with a few extra items on the plate. The sushi looked trampled and picked-through so that was a pass. Too bad. The soup and salad were decent. Not much you could do to mess that up. Choosing my main courses was more challenging, with so many choices. I eat Asian food all the time at really good restaurants in the GTA so I chose not to go that route. I ended up with freshly carved prime rib (medium rare), smoked brisket, fried chicken, gnocchi, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and corn on the cob. These were all very good choices! The prime rib was tender and juicy, even without jus or gravy. The brisket was equally tender and moist with a nice smoky flavour. The chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Very good. The sides were all tasty as well. It was hard to resist going back for more but I was already feeling stuffed. My dining companions were raving about the bread pudding so I figured I had to squeeze in a piece, topped with soft-serve ice cream. It was quite good. The service was friendly and efficient. It has to be to turn over all those tables for the people waiting to get in. I was stuffed and done. Roll me out now. The regular price for dinner is only $22.00, making it a pretty good bargain.
