Awesome! Had ice cream for breakfast. This location also has a drive-thru which is pretty cool. I got a "small" and it was two MASSIVE scoops of ice cream. Too many flavours to choose from but everything is excellent. Love love love Kawartha Dairy!! read more

I scream, you scream! We all scream for ice cream! On such a hot day, there are few things better than an ice cold treat. In Barrie, Kawartha Dairy is a classic parlour just a short drive from the beachfront. The shop has over 40 ice cream flavours to suit your heart's desire. Initially we had trouble picking & eventually staff forgot about us. Salty Caramel Truffle and Moose Tracks are popular flavours. We stacked both fresh scoops in a small size cup that's still huge! Each spoonful is fairly rich & creamy. The salt in the caramel balanced one another well (highly recommend), while Moose Tracks was a chocolate delight to satisfy the sweet tooth. Milkshakes can also be made from any scoop. We tried the Muskoka Mocha and Pistachio Almond in this form. The mocha ice cream was perfect for coffee lovers while almond slices added a crunch to the green pistachio shake although flavours were a bit artificial. Skip it or hit it? A visit to Kawartha Dairy always puts us in a good summer vibe after a beach day in Barrie! read more

Got here after a day out in wasaga 8pm ( closes at 9pm) packed line up outside people outside eating ice cream. Free parking on site and a drive through take out as well for those that don't want to stand and wait. Couple benches outside and small seating area inside. The store has right now 2 l tubs for $16 each which is a great value. They sell milk products some merch and food items. Servers handling groups at a time made it easier to manage the crowds. You can try a. Couple samples to see what you like. One side is easier to see the flavours than the others as it's L shaped display. The baby size is enormous, the small 2 flavours packed huge scoops. The value is definitely there. They have seasonal items such as pumpkin right now for the fall! Ran out of the maple walnut flavor. Don't miss out! Get your ice cream! read more

My go to ice cream spot when going north. So many delicious flavours to choose from! You can purchase a cone, cup, or tub (they also sell milk). The portion sizes are huge and very reasonably priced for the amount of ice cream you get. There is a drive through option, or you can get over the counter service (which is usually pretty quick). Seating is available outside. read more

Big line up when we stopped by on a Sunday around 9pm. It went by rather quickly and they also had a huge drive through line. Lots of classic flavours to choose from. I went with mocha and maple sugar Shack. Omg delicious, creamy, yummy! I ordered a small and it was way way way too big for me though, so I might see if I can order a mini next time. I felt a bit rushed to make a decision with that huge line up behind so I didn't actually take the time to read the menu. Definitely a fantastic place to stop by and grab a treat to share!!! read more

Kawartha Dairy - a hand holding a cup of ice cream - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Barrie, Ontario

service was good even when it was super busy. prices are good. I was upset to see that the debit machine did not have a tipping option. as someone who has working at an ice cream shop in the summer before, they should add a tipping option to the machine so we can show our appreciation. read more

Good ice cream! Has a drive through. Gives out "pup-cones" too! We come here often... A summertime staple.

Have been there a couple times now, the ice cream is really good , from the kinds I've tasted. They aren't crazy with portion control either. They give you MASSIVE scoops. One of which broke my boyfriends cone( they gave us a new cone) and the time prior causing the entire scoop to fall out of my cone onto my hand. They have decent prices, and seem friendly. Both times I've gone in there has been big rushes, the first time was very hectic. The other being more controlled as they pulled people onto line. Will continue to be a go too spot ! read more

A little bit pricy, but very good and you get lots. I got a single scoop for about $4, which came with one huge scoop of ice cream. There is truly something for everyone here with the many great flavours that they offer. I come here frequently to buy tubs of moose tracks ice cream, and when the weather is nice I treat myself to a bowl or waffle cone. read more

If you haven't been to Kawartha Dairy, you are missing out! Hands down the best ice-cream that I have EVER had! The servers were friendly, the store seemed clean, and they had multiple flavours to chose from in which the scoops were massive! They also sell other items, such as milk, baked goods, maple syrup, etc. We also bought a few baked goods and it was amazing! I personally loved their Pecan tarts, they were delicious! Long lines that move fast. Excellent ice cream. Worth the short wait. Anything with a long line surely means it's amazing.

Holy moly. This place is great, don't come here on a full stomach. This drive thru has their tubs of ice cream, kawartha cheese, kawartha milk and more for sale. We came here to cure our ice cream cravings, and also recommended by our good friends that this heavenly place existed. We ordered orange creamsicle, birthday cake and cookie dough in cups. They were super rich and filling, we weren't able to finish it all. But we enjoyed every single bite of it all. They aren't stingy with their scoops either. Which is greatly appreciated, considering some places like to practically weigh out their scoops before giving them to you *eye roll*. Definitely a must go, all the staff are super happy and nice (as they should be, you work with ice cream! it's against the law to be sad when you're around ice cream) Prices are very reasonable, and service is good. Give it a try next time you're in the area! read more

Can I say YUM? I've previously visited another shop near Algonquin Park and had such a great experience so I decided to visit this shop on my way home from Blue Mountain. As you go in, you will see a line of ice cream flavors in which you can choose from. There's a lot! With many different combinations. The baby size will give you plenty of ice cream to eat. I decided to opt for a traditional flavor and went with strawberry. It did not disappoint! It was delicious and you could taste the rich strawberry flavors. Would love to go back and try the other different flavors of ice cream! The staff was super nice and will allow you to taste some of the flavors if you're undecided. read more

Stopped here after reading the reviews. I rarely review places, but had to weigh in after I got my cone. I got a small Bear Claw ice cream, which came with two huge scoops of ice cream. Tasted amazing, very good service and great value. The shop has take out packs too. Will return!! read more

Great kawartha ice cream! Convenient drive-thru availability. They even gave free puppy cone for my dog :)

Superb ice cream; however, the system of lining up to order an ice cream cone, and then lining up again to pay is very frustrating. On Thursday evening, May 3rd, I waited 10 min to order 2 cones, and then another 15 min to pay. By the time it was my turn at the cash, my ice cream cones were melting and had to have new cones scooped. A waste of time and product. The big problem is mixing customers purchasing dairy products with ice cream cone customers, served only one cashier. There needs to be a minimum of 2 cashiers during peak demand ie. evenings and weekends. read more
