Family changing room is always crowded, there is almost no place to put your things (4 working lockers for any amount of kids at the time), not too clean. Note that while you are waiting for your child, there will be nowhere to sit so some parents have to wait in the car. The library is very small, open 4 days a weeks for a couple of hours.

After being told all about the horror stories that happen at gyms, I'm happy to say that I haven't really experienced any of them (being stared at/judged, people refusing to clean up after themselves, no equipment available, etc.). Excellent location - highly recommended for anyone looking for a gym regardless of fitness level. FYI - this gym is located on the second floor of a building, and to get to the reception you need to climb a set of stairs (around 2 floors). Assuming you don't opt for the elevator for some reason, and you go to the gym 3 times a week, that is 300 extra floors per year you'll be climbing - just by going! Haha.

However, perhaps because it is newer, Cassie Campbell is a little nicer. What I like about it is the giant glass walls that allow you to see outside. It really makes the place seem bigger and non-claustorphobic. The layout of the gym consists of all the workout equipment in the centre, and a track circling around, with the corners available for stretching exercises. Basically every piece of equipment one could need is here, and then some. The membership fees are reasonable. I bought a month pass which is only $40 if you are a student, otherwise its closer to $50. For a one time pass it's $7 for a student and closer to $10 if you are not a student. There are also a lot of other activities and classes since it's a community centre; however, I can only comment on the gym part since that's all I really used. If you are looking for a place to workout, I recommend at least trying out this gym, you might end up loving it. Warning, depending on which side you come from on Chinguacousy you may have to pull a U-Turn to get inside the parking lot lol. . . but bonus though, if you buy a pass to any Brampton city gym, you gain access to all their gyms.

And, they tried to talk me down from buying a more expensive chalk bag (but I couldn't not get the Star Trek design). When it comes to the staff on the floor, they'll walk you through all their deals to try to help you figure out what the cheapest way to enjoy everything is. The deals are different by age (especially for those under 5, because rentals are free for that age). And, they know them all. And, they want to take the time to help you make the right choice. This is a business run and staffed by people who really care about climbing, and they want that climbing passion to be passed on to you. This location has a good parking lot, a lot of walls to go up, and a bunch of auto belays that make things easier for those with kids. If you love climbing, or if you don't know anything about climbing, but would like to... this is for you.

I guess that's still true but I was surprised at how much the monotone grey-scale of the entire place made it feel cold in here. I guess I'll continue with a couple more critiques. One is that I don't understand why they don't simply keep towel racks in the plus change-rooms as they do at every other Y I've ever been to. It's part of what you're paying for, and though you can get them at the front desk, it just seemed odd that they just won't keep them stocked in the change-room for convenience. The change-room itself was quite small and has virtually no seats which was a bit odd too. Apart from those minor things, the workout area is well stocked and they even have a couple unique things in what is sort of a mini studio in the middle of the workout area. One thing I really appreciate this place as a runner is that their track is longer than most of the other ones as it circles the gymnasium as well. It's nice having longer straightaways so you don't feel like you're turning most of the time. If you're strictly into using weights, they do have what you need here though you can probably find other places to go to for cheaper. However, Y's (including this one) are great for having additional amenities, which includes a full-sized pool, gymnasium, running track, programming for kids and other things. There's also often more a community feel at them and often a chance to make connections too.

The protocol for entering is to have a valid negative test, and pass a manned screening station plus temperature scan before being allowed in for sports training. The walking track is free to use and available from 7am - 11am & 5pm - 8pm everyday.
