Dumbell and bench area

The location seems to be well staffed and have a good amount of volunteers helping them out. Front desk service is a little slow though as I suspect this is because most of the patrons have been established for a long time and don't require much. My membership is from Boston and as an "out of town" member it wasn't too difficult to get set up and start using the gym. Towel service is $2 each time for 2 towels. The facilities appear to very well equipped with a good variety of equipment that will satisfy most people. The atmosphere is definitely for families and not for powerlifters or bodybuilders but I would say this is a very well equipped gym. In some reviews, I think I read that the staff would always be lurking around bothering people but I didn't really experience any of that Main floor: swimming pool: - Wading area and lane swimming as well. Activities/services: -Daycare -Taekwondo -Aerobic dance classes - kids summer camp etc. Full sized gym: -basketball -volleyball -badminton etc. -Ping pong room Change rooms: - sinks, toilets and urinals - showers with curtains and body wash - scales - private changing stalls - full sized lockers - Hair dryers 2nd floor: - large range of dumbells that appear to be in increments of 2.5lbs -wall to wall mirrors in dumbbell area -variety of benches -4 squat racks -indoor track -jungle gym area -fitness area with wall to wall mirrors - no shortage of ellipticals, stationary bikes and treadmills

Lane swim sessions are only 45 mins during the week, while other YMCA centres have back to back 60 min swim blocks.

Can someone tell me how much membership cost? I'm a family guy so per visit/day cost (single or 10 pack) would be helpful too! Thanks,

Best so far. Staff were so helpful, didn't experience that at YMCA or downtown. Much cleaner than other locations.

He cares about his students & takes his time to make sure that we are doing it correctly so that we don't waste our time and to ensure that we do not injure ourselves. He is very high energy which feeds off to the rest of us & we feel energy moving through us while doing his Combat & Pump class. Even before entering the group ex class & upon entering the gym, I am always greeted with a friendly and warm smile from Prabhjot! He always makes me feel welcomed, listens to any questions or concerns I have with care and he is just such a nice person to be able to see and interact with the moment I arrive at Goodlife. I love my chats with him! The one small complaint I have is the Recovery Room that has a couple of very good massage chairs in it. That room is always busy and it is very difficult to get access to one of those massage chairs. People don't care and will keep it on repeat even though they can see that others are waiting for the chairs. It would be cool if there can be a scanner attached to it somehow to start the machines based on your membership and can only be scanned a specific number of times within a certain time. I can't speak for any other areas in this location but I do notice that it is an extremely busy location during prime times such as after work.

I definitely got my butt kicked at Unionville Fitness. I was here as part of a Yelp fitness event…read moreand the owner, Shabiha, was so kind to have set out a boot camp routine for us. We were divided into groups of 4 and there were about 4 stations around the gym. We were to do designated exercises at each station for about 30 seconds, then move on to the next station. We would rest for about 30-60 seconds after one circuit and then repeat. We did push-ups, lunges, shoulder presses, bicep curls, burpies, and a whole lot more. I was sweating pretty hard by the end of it. The gym itself isn't very big but it has plenty of equipment. It's brightly lit and very clean. It's not really a place to just drop by and do your own workout. It offers boot camp classes or one-on-one training. I think it's a great place to start if you're easily intimidated at big name gyms. A gentleman was helping Shabiha during the boot camp class and he kept encouraging everyone, and gave awesome pointers on how to modify an exercise to make it easier or harder. I would consider coming back for the boot camp classes.

As soon as I scanned my barcode, the alarms went off telling David the manager who was there that morning to inform me that my membership was not good at his club. Interestingly, even though my membership was not valid at his club, David was able to look at my membership profile and see that I am a longtime LA Fitness member and was able to allow me to workout at his club. This Markham club was comparable to the Diamond Bar, California club that I normally workout at. LA Fitness considers this club a Premier Plus Club...whatever that means. My regular premiere club and this club were basically the same, except mine in California provides towels for me. It was less fancy than their Signature Club in Irvine, CA, where their headquarters are at. They had treadmills and ellipticals that were equipped with a TV screen for you to watch. They had free weights and machines. Most of the equipment worked, not like at some of the other clubs I've been to. The club seemed clean. Paper towels and sanitizer were available. No towel service at this club. The parking lot was adequate. I was able to find a spot. It's a good LA Fitness gym. I still don't know what a premier plus club is. It sounds good, but, it is no different from a regular premier club in the USA. Thank you David for letting me get my work out in.

This gym is definitely constructed more for people who work with free weights, on platforms and in cages, however there is still some other stuff to work with. It's a very nice place, there's a big open space in the main area and a therapeutic corner for clients with injuries and whatnot. There's also a nice waiting area with a view of the gym incase you get there early or your trainer is running behind. The gym itself has a lot of awesome things that I incorporate in my workout, however some of these things my regular gym doesn't have which can be annoying- not many things though just TRX straps and battling ropes- I'm sure there are a few more that I can't think of! This gym does do memberships as well but I believe the majority of the people who come here either see trainers or are a part of classes- they do some pretty awesome looking boot camps. There's also a cardio room with a few treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and a rowing machine, and a straight line track. Oh! and a humungous tire for all you hulks out there. Definitely a good gym, a little randomly located but there are a lot of great trainers working here and it's a great place overall.
