At the bottom, if your key tag didn't go missing from falling off your keyring ($5.00 replacement fee if lost, free if you have it still) you may or may not be greeted by a staff member in a standard 'no frills' manner. For what a yearly membership gets you, there is no question to the value. From access to a wide assortment of equipment for every need and fitness level, classes (which I'm a bit shy to try, but look great and engaging), to over washed towels, this is a great option for any one at any age range. Nautilus type machines are replaced and upgraded every so often, with countless free weights and items. You can also sign up for personal training sessions, which I am sure is also good value. I have been a member for a number of years, and appreciate the value, cost and no hassle of doing what you want. Some of the feedback I would graciously forward is the benches and the air. Personally, it would be great to either have a few treadmills with a blowing air option or stand up fans as with limited air circulation it can get stuffy very quickly (could be just me). My biggest gripe, which I may have suggested before, is adding an extra bench or two to the change rooms. It is a race to get changed, and the last thing we want is a ding dong and other miscellaneous items clogging the periphery. If a dozen or so TVs can be purchased, add a few extra bucks to the membership and throw in a few extra change benches. I will gladly change the review to a 5 for that alone. -Zuk

I had a serious concern at Body Vision Fitness Inc regarding professionalism and member safety…read more During my workout, I was confronted in an aggressive manner by one of the personal trainers, and I felt cornered as a client/trainee moved in close beside me. The interaction centered on the flag patch on my backpack (my national flag) and comments about my background, and it continued while I was trying to complete my workout. For context, I have worn the same backpack at this gym for over a year with no prior issues. Because I did not feel safe, I escalated the situation directly to management. The way it was handled left me feeling like I was treated as the problem for reporting it, rather than having the concern reviewed and addressed. My membership was revoked verbally. I was told it would be temporary and that the gym would follow up, but I have not heard from management since, and the revocation did not appear to be temporary. I'm sharing this as my firsthand experience so others can make an informed decision. Based on how this was handled, I would not recommend this gym to anyone who expects a respectful, professional, and safety-focused environment.

Staff is always friendly and helpful, instructors are extremely knowledgeable and exceptional teachers, and the crowd is always manageable (even during weekday evenings). After being told all about the horror stories that happen at gyms, I'm happy to say that I haven't really experienced any of them (being stared at/judged, people refusing to clean up after themselves, no equipment available, etc.). Excellent location - highly recommended for anyone looking for a gym regardless of fitness level. FYI - this gym is located on the second floor of a building, and to get to the reception you need to climb a set of stairs (around 2 floors). Assuming you don't opt for the elevator for some reason, and you go to the gym 3 times a week, that is 300 extra floors per year you'll be climbing - just by going! Haha.

Even before entering the group ex class & upon entering the gym, I am always greeted with a friendly and warm smile from Prabhjot! He always makes me feel welcomed, listens to any questions or concerns I have with care and he is just such a nice person to be able to see and interact with the moment I arrive at Goodlife. I love my chats with him! The one small complaint I have is the Recovery Room that has a couple of very good massage chairs in it. That room is always busy and it is very difficult to get access to one of those massage chairs. People don't care and will keep it on repeat even though they can see that others are waiting for the chairs. It would be cool if there can be a scanner attached to it somehow to start the machines based on your membership and can only be scanned a specific number of times within a certain time. I can't speak for any other areas in this location but I do notice that it is an extremely busy location during prime times such as after work.

Awful Customer Service & The Equivalent of Bad Car Salesmen for Fitness Studios:…read moreTheir equipment itself isn't bad, it's more so the ambiance, lack of care from staff (notably Fred) that destroys the experience leaving you mentally and emotionally drained rather than the physical high that you're supposed to feel when you leave the gym. I was scouting around for gyms as my current gym membership is ending. I reached out to Club1 for a free trial and they sent me quite a few trial promos for about 2-3 months. I eventually got a trial message for a free month promo. Given the fact that they've been actively trying to get me to try their gym for 2-3 months I finally decided to go. This is when I met Fred Hempstead - arguably the most unprofessional and unseasoned salesperson I have ever encountered. When I entered the gym to meet him, he asked me what I was looking for in a gym and I told him on multiple occasions that I'm looking to trial gyms before committing and I jumped on this promo as it would give me a good sense of what the gym is like. He made me sign waivers (standard for all gym passes/trials) However, he NEVER let me know that this was a membership that I was signing up for, NEVER let me know that there was a 10 day policy to cancel before terminating. Quite frankly and most alarmingly, he NEVER went through any terms of this false "membership". You are supposed to go through and explain all terms and conditions of a contract with a potential client - this is a standard of care that was omitted and never ever performed by their "managing director" Also, why would you send an advertisement stating one free month pass when it's truly just a 10 day pass..? Mind you, there's not even fine print on the ad either. I was also offered a 3D Body Scan as a "value add" promo booked on July 4th at 7pm by Fred. I go to the gym at that time on a tiring Monday after work and low and behold the staff member has no idea what I'm talking about. She doesn't see my name she doesn't see anything booked and I tell the lady here that this is a value add service for my free month trial. I ask her what this service is anyways and she tells me that it's rare that they do this for free month trials - it's usually for only more serious customers. Then she tells me she knows nothing about my trial or the booking and she'll talk to Fred tomorrow. Key things to note now: 1a). She has no idea about the terms of my free trial/promotion 1b). She could have looked to see what kind of promotion/membership status I have on the system to let me know that I've been mislead by ads, coerced into signing, and let me know right there what I have unwillingly and seemingly unlawfully signed for. 2. There's clearly a lack of care on booking appointments or letting people know appointments are cancelled also given that this was booked by the managing director, Fred, and there's no notice or responsibility - what is he really managing?! Fred calls the next morning, and given the fact that the representative yesterday said that this service is for more serious clients and I'm still trialing - I actually ask Fred again to confirm that this is just a month free trial as I am still unsure if I'm going to commit. Fred doesn't confirm or deny he just says its a value add service. Let's Recap! At this point this is now THREE times that someone could have told me that this was a full membership I unwillingly and was completely unaware that I signed up for (in the beginning with Fred, with the lady working on July 4th, and again with Fred on the phone the morning of July 5th) Mind you, only 7 days after I unwillingly signed. I visited the gym maybe 2 more times, but it's not my vibe. There's not a lot of people in the gym so it feels slow in there sometimes, there's no air conditioning, and the determining deterrent for me was the large group of people standing outside (mostly old men) lingering and basically having a whole parking lot party at 8pm - it didn't feel safe. After my month trial ended on July 27th I got an invoice for roughly $140. I emailed told them I won't be proceeding after the month, called them and asked what this was about given that I only had a free month trial. The lady had no idea either and of course she sent it to Fred who seems to be the only person who knows about these supposed free trials. Fred emails back and he tells me it's now my 1st invoice for my membership. I'm honestly SHOCKED out of my mind as I'm seeing this invoice before 8 in the morning and beyond annoyed because as mentioned earlier why wasn't this membership mentioned earlier?! There were 3 times that this could have been addressed, the ads were completely misleading, and his staff clearly had no idea who I was, what their promos entail, who is receiving what promo, and why is Fred the only one in charge of this? BBB and the Competition Bureau of Canada have been contacted for negligence and misleading ads and Club1 still doesn't have a solution

This gym is generally very quiet and everybody minds their own business. It's 24/7 so it's very convenient. It's not staffed at night, but they have the security tags and 911 phone. Even when the staff are here, they don't keep bothering you like goodlife goes with the "no bags allowed, no heavy lifting" etc. Anytime is the most chill gym. I've been to the other ones but this one is particularly immaculate. Lots of functional fitness on the turf (sleds, battle ropes, boxing bag etc) with areas for heavy lifting - no seriously, they have an olympic lifting area complete with bumper plates. The free weights area is quite small - can't fit more than 2-4 people comfortably and I found myself avoiding this area unless it was empty. Also, they only have 1 power rack, 1 squat rack and 1 smith machine. Which means you have to bench after adjusting the power rack and it doesn't cause a smooth bench session as just actually having a bench. Given that's a smaller gym, I can understand why there aren't as many machines but for my full workouts, I wouldn't be able to get it done here. Great cardio session, complete with stairmasters though. They also have individual bathrooms/showers! I think the prices here are very mediocre. I know ATF has a lot of deals/promos all the time but I had a membership @ woodbine/16 and it was around $60/month + you had to pay an extra $50 every year to update the equipment. If it's anything around the same now, this would definitely not be my gym of choice.
