Very glad to have this new restaurant in town. We have been a few times. I like the avocado toast trio (which can come on gluten-free toast). Today I had the aeblt (avocado egg blt). It was delicious! Side of fruit which was ripe and sweet. Friendly service. They have done a great job remodeling. The place is nice and bright, feels spacious although it is small. One criticism: Corned beef is a tough meat. There is a reason it is usually chopped fine for hash or chopped thin for sandwiches. Their hash had large hunks of corned beef. I usually grab brunch at Honey Berry while I'm in the area, but I decided to be spontaneous and try this place! I loved how cute and homey it was inside, especially the LED signs with cute phrases. The staff was all so welcoming and multiple staff members helped me out during my visit. Monse was especially attentive and personable, she is really sweet and a wonderful barista and server. I almost got one of the iced lattes, but somebody suggested the Maple and Hash shaken espresso which was absolutely delicious. I was craving pancakes so I went with the Cinnamon Roll pancakes and I'm not kidding they were the fluffiest, most delicious pancakes I've had in years. Honestly, I have not had one bad experience here at Maple and hash. The atmosphere and the food are top-notch. Especially having a little one. The options for food is great and my kid can finish the whole plate there. The service is excellent and you can tell that they care for the people. The coffee cup had old coffee stains on it. The Denver skillet came to the table with the smallest diced green peppers and ham I'd ever seen. The potatoes and biscuits I ordered were dry. The coffee was old and burnt. The other breakfast was a corned beef skillet, everything was chopped into tiny pieces. It was dry and tasteless. Terrible food, and the dining dishes were dirty. I would not recommend this place to anyone. In Dundee, there are other places to go to have a nice breakfast. This wasn't it. Nasty. The tables in the dining area were close together so it felt crowded and it was way too loud for that early in the morning. I had basic eggs, bacon, toast and the food was fine, not great, but fine. The server was nice and attentive. It was unclear how to pay so I took my check up front and stood there awkwardly while they rung it up. That's on management, just print in the bottom of the receipt if my server will collect payment or if I should take it to the register. Glad to have finally tried the new breakfast/lunch choice in the area, but doubt I will rush to return. We were seated within a few minutes at around 11:30 on a Sunday which is a good thing. Right off the bat, I couldn't help but notice our table had a substantial draft coming from the ceiling. The menu has a large offering of cloyingly sweet foo-foo breakfast options, but only one basic breakfast option, which is what I ordered ... Two eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast (only one piece). If a breakfast place can't deliver a properly cooked egg, then there will always be other weaknesses as well. Menu price point is a couple dollars higher than it should be. The food was delivered within a reasonable amount of time, but unfortunately, my breakfast which included frozen, not fresh potatoes, arrived cold. The rye toast was also ice cold and would not melt butter. First bite gave me the impression that it was stale, or had been toasted hours before. I tried the bottle of house labeled hot pepper sauce and it had the exact same (identical) flavor and color as the adjacent bottle of Cholula. Another member of my party had some strawberry cheesecake French toast and it was very good. Our server, whom I believe was a member of management, was friendly, competent and kept up with the coffee service. To summarize, the restaurant looks nice and fresh on the inside, but they should fix the issue with cold air blowing down on the tables. This 'feature' turned an already lukewarm meal into a real weak breakfast offering. The measure of a good breakfast place is in core breakfast items of eggs, protein, potatoes, toast. In this case, total bust. They should scrap the things that they can't/don't do well and stick with the ultra-high carb foo-foo items that they seem to be better at. If you are looking for a traditional breakfast, this isn't the place for that. I have to give it two stars because, meh, I've experienced better. read more

For the price point you are paying for the great taste and service but the quantity is slightly lacking. We saw this place as it was opening last week and decided we wanted to give it a shot. I'm telling you right now, go as soon as possible. This place is outstanding. The decor is really neat inside - farmhouse feel. The food is fantastic, prices are incredibly reasonable, the manager's Mother makes all of these amazing pastries from scratch everyday. All of their salsa and guacamole and stuff like that, everything was made fresh in house. My favorite thing was probably the lavender coffee, the breakfast, pastries, and the breakfast potatoes, but everything was really good! The service was excellent and our waitress was attentive, it is clean and very cute inside with current music playing. However, we ordered the Benedict and salmon Benedict and were unfortunately underwhelmed. The hollandaise sauce was very bland and didn't taste like anything. The side of potatoes was just diced up French fries (tasted like Arby's curly fries) which was decent but not super warm when we got it.
