I went to Maple and Ash for my birthday a few months ago finally. I have lived here for so long and never been so what better night to try it than for a birthday dinner. It's very dark inside but the ambiance is still cute and can be romantic if you're going for a date night or something intimate. It is lively as well though and a loud environment. The food was all good! We got the seafood tower, some drinks and a dessert that was made in front of us. Since we had 3 people we also got a pasta added to the tower just to make it more filling. The reason for the 4 stars were just a few small things. They didn't give us enough seafood for everyone to get one of everything. While servicing they realized we didn't have enough shrimp. They did fix the issue but it feels like that is an easy mistake to avoid in the first place. I also was 50/50 on the pasta. I didn't love the flavor profile of it but I didn't hate it either. Service was really good as well since my friends knew some of the employees they made sure we enjoyed our experience. I didn't end up paying but it is quite pricey so something to keep in kind. Honestly, I love this place. Brunch is definitely 5 stars and dinner is probably 4. The service is always AMAZING. I think I've been 5 times and it's always top notch. Recently, for brunch we did the IDGAF, $150 which includes bottomless champagne, a fire roasted seafood tower, and all of the traditional things brunch includes. Typically brunch $75 which still includes bottomless filet mignon, potatoes, beignets, and the cut bacon, as well as an entrée. The service was terrible, which I had never experienced here before. I had to ask the host once and the waiter twice for the happy f*cking birthday menu that we requested in our reservation. Once again, our steaks came out cold, the waiter poured the wrong wine in my wine glass and had to get me a new one - and then charged me for it and then he knocked one of our glasses of wine over and into someone's meal. It's possible they're just spread too thin, as our waitress seemed to have sections on opposite sides of the restaurant. This place is great for big groups who want a trendy atmosphere and a photo shoot , but the food is less than average, and the prices are absurd. We ordered the classic breakfast at maple, which came with an embarrassingly small portion of caviar, a very small seafood tower, and a pasta that was on their alleged "secret menu". Frankly, we think the secret menu should remain a secret. Pasta was undercooked and the sauce (garlic butter and some other lemon juice?) was awful. My lobster soft scramble was adjacent to diner eggs dressed up with lobster, truffle, and truffle mayonnaise, for some reason. I even sent it back for its stiffness, and it was returned to me in the same, stiff manner. Another diner at our table who ordered an omelette noted that her eggs were also overcooked. I went here with my fiancé for brunch. Overall the food was tasty but they sold the IDGAF like it was going to be an experience with fun surprises along the way. The only item I recall receiving was a solitary shrimp over a shot glass with a Bloody Mary type shot. For the cost of brunch (over $300 for 2 people) I think they should have executed a bit better and included a few more surprises along the way. The other matter was the dress code. There is a sign up front that says the whole no hats, no open toed shoes, and no outfits that show too much skin. My fiancé was asked to take off his Ralph Lauren hat. Understandable since that's the dress code. However, the servers were wearing ultra short dresses with cut outs and fish net stockings clearly violating their very own dress code. I think they need to declare whether or not they're going for tasteful/classy or more trendy/edgy but hold patrons and servers alike to the same standards. There was a DJ with rather loud music. They offer many drinks (over 70 pages!) to choose from after that as well. All 3 of us each ordered the filet mignon and two sides each- the sides were quite large so we shared them. We ordered the asparagus, garlic frites, Brussel sprouts, whipped potatoes, corn side, and fully dressed baked potato. My Dad also started with the French onion soup- which he said was great! Our only issue was with the steak- 2 of them came out extremely rare (we both ordered medium). They brought out new steaks which were still rare, but better. Dined here on Wednesday night for a friends birthday dinner. The ambiance was great, and our server was friendly and very attentive. However, I got the fire roasted chicken, and it was not very good. It was bland, tasted overly smokey, and I noticed right away that the texture was a bit rubbery, but I didn't want to complain and put a damper on my friend's birthday dinner. The meal I had at maple & ash was the only thing I had eaten that day. Throughout the course of the next day, I experienced all symptoms of food poisoning. Nausea, in and out of the bathroom, chills, horrible stomach cramps, and a low fever. I normally have a stomach of steel, but this meal took me out, and I'm still recovering two days later. If you like a loud AF restaurant then this place is for you. The music. The people. Everything was so loud. The food was good but the service was soooo slow, I shouldn't need to wait more than 30 mins to order my entree after our appetizer already hit the table. This dinner was also made by reservation for my friend's birthday and the "menu" they give you never came out. All the tables around us got their except us...way to make people feel special. read more
