My friend told me to call this place in Leominster Massachusetts called prime insurance where they do all the work for you and shop around for the most competitive rates. I had one minor accident in 2024 and it more than doubled my premium. I had nothing else on my record not even a parking ticket. My premium was $2609 per year after the accident. I know I'm going to go through Plymouth Rock for both my auto and homeowners insurance. my premium with the same exact coverage for auto is going to be $1140. I wish I could give them zero stars. I had water damage in my house due to roof leaks caused neglect by my condo HOA. Filed a claim then decided to cancel it due to my deductible. I got a report from a roofer that my roof was on the brink of failure. I wanted to give Mapfre a heads up they may face large claims and they basically took the information and in summary told me to get lost that they had nothing to do with it and refused to back me up in any way with my HOA despite a potential several thousand dollar claim! If I do file a claim in the future I won't assist them either in suing my condo HOA for negligence. I can't wait to cancel my policy with them and never give them any more business. Stay away! ONE OF THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANIES I've ever had in my entire life for Auto and Home. The adjuster came for a home inspection and did an external inspection without even telling me he had arrived. He wrote a report saying that the back door was boarded up when it was actually a boarded up old window in the attached shed, NOT the back door. He also reported that I needed a hand railing on the back outside steps. MAPFRE sent me a cancelation notice without even giving me any chance to rectify the situation. That was all in a month after signing up with them, and everything was paid for. The agent was from AAA RI, and trying to get in touch with him was like dealing with the government. I explained about the back door and installed the hand railing and they still canceled the policy. I can only imagine what it would have been like filing a claim. They get double negative zero stars from me Yelp requires at least one star to publish! Believe me, they don't even deserve that! read more

A year ago I paid my car insurance in full using their online system. A number to my bank somehow got deleted. The payment after two weeks didn't go through. I received a notice, called the bank and the insurance and figured out the number was missing. I repaid before the due date and was told I would not receive a fee. Well, they charged me a fee this year with the renewal. I canceled them and went elsewhere. I have been calling them and they refuse to waive the fee. The won't have a manager call me back and my insurance agent couldn't get the fee waived. They're threatening my credit if I don't pay. I paid in full on May 9, 2024 for a due date of May 23, 2024. Never written a review before but my experience was so bad I felt like I had too. I was a MAPFRE customer for 3 years, and in that time never had an sort of accident, ticket, or infraction. Despite this, my rate would increase significantly each year. The third year this happened, my new rate was more than $1k more my original rate. When I called to ask for an explanation as to why my rate went up so much, despite no claims or tickets, they had no answer for me. When I asked if there was anything I can do to reduce my rate their only solution was for me to pay my entire annual policy bill at once to receive a small discount.... Needless to say, I found a different company and would encourage anyone else looking for car insurance to do the same. They charged me a very high amount to cancel my policy, but it was worth it to be done with MAPFRE. 0 stars read more

Their estimate that they gave me did not make sense at all. I had front end damage to my car, So why do they have all the other parts that are not related to the damage on the estimate and claiming my car is a total loss? Also, they do not want me to get a second appraisal. I called and authorized my car to be released to a shop for a second appraisal, and of course, they give me and the shop a hard time about it. I have both my car and home insurance through this company and have been a long time customer. My home was inspected late last year. I had an old bulkhead door that was since replaced. I received a letter today stating they were canceling my home insurance due to "moss build up on bulkhead door." Absolutely no contact to ask about replacement etc. Absolutely horrible. MAPFRE denied renewal of my homeowner's insurance based on what I believed was incorrect information. I was able to get insured elsewhere, but I really liked the service and response I always received from MAPFRE and wanted to stay with them. I contacted two agents and both said there was no way MAPFRE would reinstate me this year. I decided to contact MAPFRE directly and just as always, I got an immediate response from Annette Bousquet, Senior Regional Underwriter I explained the situation to her and within a day or two, she wrote and told me as soon as I provided her with some information my policy would be renewed! Their customer service always been responsive. When it comes to insurance, how a company's customer service responds is really the only factor that separates the best companies from all the rest. read more

we have been with. mapre for 30 years +. We received notice of cancellation of policy. After 30 years and payment IN FULL every year. There were 4 autos on our policy until 2023. In 23 , son fell off and last year daughter fell off . They both got Mapre on their own! Then we get this! A kick in the Fanny! Husband has no points but glass replacement 2x since 2021, he drives on the highway to Boston everyday. I have 3 points because backed into someone's fender in 2021. Son replaced glass 1 . Daughter had one accident on there. But mind you , this is a MULTI CAR policy for 4 people and bundled with house and umbrella and loyal for 31 yrs. No claims ever on house or umbrella . Paid in full every year for 30+ years. This is POOR customer service. Shopping around for something new. Agent says just as well because we can save big. So much for loyalty. I regret that I have to give MAPFRE one star. Companies like MAPFRE give insurance companies the deplorable reputation they have. For years I have had my car and house insured with this company and my bill for my auto insurance (which spanned calendar years 2022 and 2023) almost 40 percent! 40 percent!!! I have no tickets and no accidents for about 13 years. I sent them two letters (certified) asking why I had such an increase and got absolutely no response. A truck threw a rock at my windshield and it was replaced and I am guessing they are trying to recover some of what was paid to replace it. That is illegal because that is not an accident; I was NOT responsible for a truck flinging a rock at my car on the highway. I'm switching both policies to another company with a better reputation. Horrible Customer Service. Another driver hit my vehicle and I filed a police report on the car accident. It stated in the report the other driver was at fault. MAPFRE took weeks to respond to me claiming they were trying to see who was at fault. They were unresponsive to my emails. Finally, when I heard back they referred me to the other driver's car insurance. They did not help me at all. Also, they refused to remove my auto payment for the month of August. Absolutely the worst insurance company. Customer service is a time consuming joke with countless prompts only to get "the wrong department" get transferred & the call dropped. MAPFRE makes it Impossible to contact anyone in the US who is just following a list of answers & doesn't help at all. My broker cannot get anyone on the phone. I am a business owner with insurance through MAPFRE. I missed an audit request deadline, got an email that we have been billed a surcharge of $990 because the we did not respond to the audit. My broker got the audit reopened & I completed the audit & all documentation. Got another MAPFRE email stating the unpaid invoice was now "in collections" (just a different MAPFE dept/email address) Called my broker again & she said MAPFRE says its in collection & they cant do anything about it? HUH? Call them back & ask that it be put put on hold pending audit. "OK they put it on hold" A few days later MAPFRE debits my checking account for the $990!!! We had set up ACH for quarterly premium payments not for surcharges. Audit still in "review". BTW we did about 30% less sales for the audit period. MAPFRE will owe us money. read more

My credit score by the three reporting agencies up to date averages 795. They claim this decision was done by an external company. They were not helpful on the phone deflecting the blame to another company. I did tell them that Massachusetts prohibits use of credit score in getting insurance. Long time customer , no claims , no issues, When I called Mapfre to ask why the home insurance went up so much,I was told by the billing dept that they could not discuss the policy,I said I want to discuss the bill, that's why I called billing. I just received my HO renewal policy for our second home in Wareham, MA. It went from $1,069 last year to $4,441 this year!! I was in shock. We thought surely this is a mistake. I finally gave up. My husband had been with Commerce for more than 40 year and me for more than 30. My son -- and HIS best friend -- had each been with them for more then 20 years. Although they were never the least expensive company, they did their job, were reasonable about paying claims. THEN they became MAPFRE. Prices went sharply up. Service went WAY down. Because I was bundled -- house and auto -- I hated having to change, but after several years with "MAPFRE," I couldn't deal with them anymore. They were fantastic at collecting money -- for auto insurance MORE than almost any other company selling equivalent insurance. They were slightly less expensive for homes, but they don't cover anything and have a superb record of finding some obscure reason you aren't eligible for anything. Ever. We gave up. Our long record of working with them apparently counted for nothing. I don't know what happened to them when MAPFRE took over, but it is a very different company with terrible customer service. There's no one you can talk to. I think it's entirely run by computers. read more

They stated the satellite shows damage however those pictures are recent and not historical. There is no objective evidence or rationale for their denial and if you look at their historical claims you'll find an alarming pattern. These guys really stepped up for us, Aaron was especially helpful when our home burned down in Stow from a tragic electrical malfunction. They were very fair and supported me in a very tough time in my life and helped me with hotels and getting back on my feet. I was anticipating that I would have to argue for a fair settlement but they were right on the money from the start and very fair throughout the whole process. As I suffer through the claims process currently for an accident that we weren't at fault in my experience is that either that my email and questions are ignored or I am treated as if they are doing me a huge favor for offering me any settlement at all. And as if it's insulting that I ask for information that I am entitled to. They are not working for the customer unless they are accepting the on-time premiums that are always paid. I am so frustrated with this process. After reading so many negative reviews below, I have to say that at least I don't have to feel as if this horrible customer service is nothing personal. It's just their way of doing business. Is it too much to expect an answer to the questions I asked? Worst insurance ever, took more than 7 months to fix a car on the border given that MAPFRE kept stalling the authorizations and the body shop that they recommended really suck. At the end I ended getting the car and taking it to my personal body shop who replaced a couple of parts and re-painted the front end. The body shop did such a terrible job, and the insurance company agreed to correct all the work. MEXITRAVEL customer service is really bad I would not recommend this service my car broke down in Mexico when I called the first time they told me that help was on their way so I waited for one hour then I called again and they told me that they couldn't find my first call on their system and that was why the help wasn't there get, so I told them to please send someone to help us then they told me that my policy didn't cover road side assistance and they hang up on me, then I called 3 more times and the same thing happened, when I finally called my provider in the u.s that's when they send me help, it took them 7 hours to get me help, so I waited for 7 hours on the side of the road with my wife and 2 kids, to make my day worse they were supposed to cover 100% of the towing cost and they didn't they only covered 10% of the cost. read more

It's really unfortunate that I have no choice but to leave a 1 star review (0 if we are being honest). I hate being this person to complain but I got into a car accident on November 30th, and I'm still in the process of figuring out what the next step is. It took them 21 days just to deem it a total loss, when every single person i showed my car to said "oh that's definitely a total loss." It took me reporting them to BBB to finally get an answer. I felt really bad too after they explained they were short staffed, so after they apologized and said they would EXPEDITE my claim, silly old me closed out the BBB report. With the holidays I understand things may slow down, so I remained patient. But now it's January 8th, I've called multiple times, and I'm on hold for 30-45 minutes and the call just hangs up. Mazda even said they called and after being on hold for 10 minutes they had to hang up. Starting to get really frustrated. read more
