When I'm in Lake o and have time before meeting a friend for dinner, I like to stop in Mapel's to see new merchandise. there used to be a Mapels at PDX, where I made many purchases over the years as I traveled for business. Now retired, and the PDX outpost is gone, this location gives me my fix. Mapel's has lots of basics and layering pieces, which is perfect for me and our PNW weather. I tend to wear solid colors, so their styles work for me. They also have some prints, but I prefer solids. During my last visit, they had some very pretty sweaters, but this year's style is boxy, which doesn't work for my shape. They have a variety of jeans, a nice selection of winter coats and vests, plus there were holiday dresses and pieces on sale. Make sure to check out the clearance in the far back corner. I unfortunately have had to start a return process for the items I purchased as they don't fit well and also have many loose threads. The return policy is stated as "hassle free." However when I contacted to return, was offered to keep the items and get %15 off, which I declined. The other return option given was for me to cover shipping costs to the tune of $40, which I said I wanted to do, but have not received any further instructions. read more

The good part is that you never know what you'll find. The bad part is that you never know what you'll find. For every five visits, I probably buy an item once. It might be a piece of Elizabeth Perry jewelry, or a dress, or a camisole. It is a small boutique where sometimes you hit the jackpot, especially if an item you want is part of their daily Happy Hour deal. What I find a bit funny is that if you look at the store windows and the displays at the front of the boutique, they tend towards the dressy. But a huge chunk of the store (the entire back section of the main room) is filled with jeans (nice jeans mind you) and a girly selection of Oregon and Oregon State gear. Very nice staff and the boutique is a refreshing change of pace at Bridgeport since the majority of stores are occupied by national chains. I shop at the West Linn location most often. I am so happy to have this boutique in our town! I love every line they carry and most of my staple clothing has now come from Mapel. The price point is excellent. Not overpriced, low quality clothing. They have great accessories and gift options too. Update: I still love their clothes & accessories but for weeks they had a "we're hiring" sign. I emailed my resume, no response. I dropped off a copy of my resume. No response. I'm okay if I'm not their ideal candidate. But a simple "thank you but we selected another candidate" would have been appreciated. I now have another part-time job but not hiring me is their loss. Mapel is a great little boutique. You'll find attentive staff who can help you find the perfect outfit for just about any event. While staff is ready and willing to assist, they don't hover or make your feel uncomfortable. Lots of variety in price point, which is great. I love that I can pick up something lower priced that I know is for a specific event and might not get worn a lot, or I can spend more on one of the designer denim lines or one of the many other brands that will be worn and washed frequently as a key piece in my wardrobe. Loved this little boutique. It had a great variety of cute clothes and sooo many adorable necklaces I had to stop myself from buying more than one. The staff were welcoming, cheerful and polite. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in with the 20% off coupon. I ended up getting a cute plaid green top, a dainty gold necklace and an off centered zipper jacket. Prices were fair for the great quality of items. If there was a Maple Boutique where I lived I would definitely be in trouble. Life's short, wear a dress! So yeah, I would wear a dress every single day, if I could. They're mostly so comfy and less restraining than pants. Unless of course we're talking about yoga pants and no one, apparently, is allowed to wear yoga pants every day, darn it! Dresses can be a little spendy. That's why I like to find places that sell them at more reasonable prices. Like Mapel Boutique. I love this place. Lots of fun classy, trendy, inexpensive items. They do carry $200 jeans, if you feel you need them. The location can't be beat either. It's closest to the parking lot I use at Bridgeport Village. So, I try to make it the first and last stop when I'm there. It's nice cause when I'm on the hunt for something for an event, then I can first check at Mapel and run through my other stores at Bridgeport and compare mentally, my options. The customer service is pretty good too. I'm one of those shoppers who has to slowly pick over a store when looking for an outfit. So, I spend a lot of time, usually, before I leave or make a purchase. This store is stuffed to the gills with clothes and accessories, which makes it harder for me to get out of there. I'm pretty sure it's annoying and weird for the sales people. I just find it hard to focus on my task sometimes. I just discovered that Mapel carries the Neesha line of dresses. I love this line. Super comfy, affordable, and easy to pack. I don't have to try it on. I just grab and go. I'm so happy they have this line. The happiest part of my last two trips is the Yelp check in offer. You get 20% off a full priced item. Such a nice little surprise. Earlier this year, I found a fab dress that was $100. It was for a special event. So, I didn't feel bad for spending that amount, but as I was checking in on Yelp at the counter, I saw the check in offer. Yippee skippee for me. I recently got a Neesha dress for 20% off too. I went in on a Friday afternoon looking for a dress for a wedding I was going to attend Saturday afternoon. I found the perfect dress but unfortunately they didn't have my size in stock. After looking online a small was in stock at a different location where I was unable to pick up. So the sales associate Rachel went out of way making phone calls to locate it and getting it to me by Saturday morning! Sure enough Saturday morning I get a call by 11 AM that they had it to the store and would hold it for me, and they didn't only send a small but they also sent an extra small which I ended up taking. I got MANY compliments that night about how nice my dress was and it was incredibly comfortable! Both the ladies I got to work with were amazing and very helpful! Not a fan of their return policy. I bought some tops during a BOGO event... probably an event they have ALL the time. Was pleased with the service at the time of purchase, was excited to go back, etc. etc. But when I got home, I was less than thrilled with the tops (like this doesn't happen to every woman at some point in time), so I chose to return them. A whole 4 days later. Return policy as stated on receipt is within 10 days, unworn, with receipt. Check, check, and check. I even had the bag I brought them home in with the tissue paper to boot. Well, because it was a special BOGO event, all I could get was store credit. I could have fought with the woman (99% sure she's the owner--and was SUPER nice when I had shopped the other day), but I'm not into confrontation. I also noticed that another Yelp-er has had a similar issue with jeans. So I'll chalk this one up to a life lesson. Really cute stuff, but make 110% sure you're absolutely smitten with your items. Conveniently located on the corner near the parking structure, it's so easy to drop by for a quick visit to see what's new at the store. I love how friendly and helpful EVERYONE is at the store, the reasonable pricing on all jewelry and the total care they take when it comes to having in stock unique and flattering dresses/apparel. This summer Mapel hosted some really fun events that I enjoyed going to. On top of a great experience in the store, I have met employees outside of Mapel and they are just as friendly and helpful. I have been following this boutique since their inception in the Bavarian Mountain Village of Leavenworth, WA. I just visited their new location at the Bridgeport Shopping Center in Oregon. And, it's... beautiful! Great job ladies! I mean!! This gorgeous shop is plush and filled with some of the best fashion lines available only in boutiques. The price range is nice too. I hate to write this review because the store itself is cute and I like a lot of the stuff they carry and I want to support small businesses. . . This is a personal experience that was just pretty disappointing. I ordered (and paid) for a couple of items from the website to be picked up two days later. I drove 30 minutes from SW Portland to pick the items up to find out that either the wrong items were pulled or they sold the items I paid for. Ok, that sucks. That fact isn't the biggest deal in the world, stuff happens. The problem I take issue with is the kind girl helping me was on the phone with the manager who clearly was acting as though the situation was my fault and was more bent on selling me other items so they wouldn't have to refund me. No offer to rectify the situation, a discount on my next purchase, nothing for the inconvenience or mess up. I had to ask if they'd give me free shipping for my next purchase so I wouldn't have to drive out again. Come on! Be proactive and own your screw up! read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE! Be warned, worst customer service you will ever receive. Over the holidays I was shopping at Mapel Boutique and found 2 pairs of jeans for my daughter. She was not at the store with me, so I double checked with the sales associate that I would be able to return the product if she didn't like them. The sales associate assured me as long as the tags were still on the product and I returned it within 10 days, I would receive the full refund in the form i paid. So I decided to purchase two pairs of 7 jeans ($160 each). . At checkout the sales associate told me they were having an In store promotion and the jeans were buy 1 pair full price ($160) get the other pair half off ($80). So I purchased both pairs of jeans and headed out. My daughter ended up not liking how the jeans fit, so I went to return the jeans 2 days later (3 days since purchase), And well within the 10 day return period. The jeans had tags still attached, never worn, with receipt. Once I got in the store I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT RETURN THE JEANS WHAT SO EVER due to some "happy hour" promotion they were having that day. No where on the receipt did it mention this "happy hour" and that no products purchased during this "happy hour"could be returned. The girl working was very sweet and was profusely embarrassed by her stores return policy, as she came from Nordstrom and was used to giving excellent customer service, unlike Mapel Boutique that scams people out of money by having "promotions" but not disclosing you CANNOT RETURN PRODUCT if your purchase during one of these promotions. She told me this happens all the time and customers are stuck with product they do not want, even though they followed the receipt return policy. I was givin the owners number from the sales associate, to contact regarding this ridiculous policy. The owner never contacted me, as shes embarassed knowing that her policy is a scam. Now i''m stuck with $240 of product that I cannot use, all because I bought during a "happy hour" day. This is the worst store I have ever shopped at, and I strongly regret my purchase, as I'm now stuck with it after following everything on their receipt. DO NOT SHOP HERE and support their terrible business ethics. read more
