Maddie was my server, she was very helpful and knew lots about the gelato and cheeses! Overall yummy food!!

Excellent grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Even better gelato and good portions for the price. The downside is the limited menu and the place is always cold in winter. The decor could use a warm up and no employee has ever been able to tell me why there is a live feed of sea lions. With better seating it could become a great and regular hangout. read more

One of the absolute best deals in all of Idaho- not just Idaho falls. $5 gets you a customs grilled cheese, side and a drink. On top of all the free samples. I didn't even try the gelato this time- but that looked great too! If I lived in IF I'd be here pretty often. read more

So many amazing cheeses to choose from! The only question that I had that they were not able to answer was if the rennet was sourced from vegetable or animal. Other than that... I had about 10 other questions that they happily answered. Love , the selection of cheeses... And the gelato I tried was delicious as well! Great hidden gem in Idaho Falls read more

Manwaring Cheese - Stocked up for the week with 2 types of Raw Cheese - Cheese Shops Near Me - Idaho Falls, Idaho

This is a must stop if you are ever in Idaho Falls. Even if you are just passing through it is worth the detour. The gelato at this place is amazing! They have a wide selection of flavors and the quality rivals the best I had in Italy. If you live somewhat close, bring a cooler to transport some of their phenomenal cheese home. They have unique flavors like garlic dill, pepperoni, and, for the stout of heart, one called "fire in the hole". They offer a simple lunch of soup and your choice of grilled cheese for a reasonable price. Come support this local food shop! read more

Best deal in town. Grilled cheese, soup and a drink 5 bucks!!!! Also so great gelato and super friendly staff.

This is a nice addition to Idaho Falls. A beautiful and modern little shop with a visible cheese factory. The cheeses themselves are good but not great. Their special reserve cheese, for example, is very creamy but lacks much in the way of flavor. The plain cheddar is decent, but not any better than things like Tillamook. They shine with the various flavored cheeses. Their pepper cheeses offer a wide range of spiciness, including a Carolina Reaper one that might burn your mouth off. I hope they improve their cheese quality and depth of flavor and take a few notes and guidance from places like Beecher's Handmade Cheese. Lots of potential here, but right now that's all it is. Potential to be great. Currently pretty good (I'd use 3 1/2 stars if Yelp allowed half stars). Fun little store and worth supporting. read more

Great cheese shop. Short walk from great restaurants and downtown Idaho Falls. The gelato was top tier and the cheeses we brought home have been delicious. The service was good but nothing special. read more

First time here at Manwaring.. the cheese, the soup, and the sandwiches were great. You can get samples at the cheese cooler from little serving bowls using a toothpick, but.. here's where I was turned off. They had just opened and the little cups for used toothpicks to go in, were literally overflowing with dirty toothpicks from other customers. Several toothpicks had fallen down into the cheese area under the racks. Toothpick dispensers were not working, or even empty and the sample bowls were strewn all over and mostly empty. Nice place inside, but with the build up and overflow of dirty toothpicks...I just can't do it again. Place was empty when we came in, staff was just kinda milling around. read more

The cheese was legit and the gelato was even better. Think my wife sampled every kind because of course she did. The boys working there on Tuesday night were phenomenal. Incredibly kind and welcoming. I ended up pranking my golf coach and team with a fire in the hole grilled cheese sandwich that led to a lot of laughs once I got back to the golf course. read more

4 1/2 out of 5. Came here for the gelato and ended getting filled with delectable cheese samples. Will stop here on the way home to pick up a few pounds of their cheese products. There is a large selection of gelato flavors and after sampling numerous options we grabbed two cones and finished filling our tummies. The cones were freshly made. I know I've said this before, but there is a special place in hell reserved for folks that serve stale cones. No dinner tonight. read more

They have THE BEST grilled cheese sandwiches at the best prices, too! We love their gelato. There are so many choices and they are delicious. The kids working there are always helpful and friendly. You can't go wrong and you won't be disappointed! read more

okay we LOVED this place. interior is so cute and classic. So many fun things to eat/do/try here! - you can sample a TON of homemade cheese independently - lots of gelato flavors- every one we tried was delish. - you can choose the cheese of your choice in a grilled cheese! the sourdough bread is super yummy. sandwich is pretty small but the prices are so good that it's fine! get the soup with it and it's an A+ lunch - they also have a bunch of artisan cheeses and I LOVE the info cards with each cheese- tells you how to pronounce it, where it's from, what to pair it with, etc. only problem: it was VERY crowded and they only had 2 teenagers to take orders for food AND gelato, make and serve the food, check out those buying cheese... there was not enough employees!! felt bad for the poor kids. read more

Oh heck yes this place is the bomb! Their servers really scoop it up. My wife and I like to go here for an evening out for Riverwalk with our ice cream and I also like to grab some cheese to take home. If you like goat cheese to go along with a wine and crackers, this is the place to come. Everybody comes here with their families and some families out of town it's a good place to stop And catch up have a great sitting area, which is very personable and you may be able to see a train by. Let's get back to the ice cream because that's the best part, next to the cheese...and the cheese sandwiches. Never mind just go and try it out. I'm getting hungry for it just writing this.. read more

I don't know how we missed this place with all of our visits to the area. It's definitely a local favorite and now one of ours. First, it's a cheese shop the gas an excellent selection of cheeses from around the world. You can sample them to find the one you like before you purchase. They also have a nice selection of salamis. They offer great cheese sandwiches. They are a on the small side and on sour dough. You get to pick the cheese you want to make an excellent sandwich. I prefer the Tuscan rub and the garlic pepper cheese. You can get drink, sandwich, and soup for five dollars. An extra sandwich is $2.50. The soup is not great, but you are going to cheese shop, not a soup shop. They also have a great gelato shop with lots of flavors. They let you try the different flavors before you decide on the one that you want. Overall, mango was our favorite. However, we all found lots of different flavors that we really enjoyed. Finally, the staff was very helpful and super friendly. They keep it clean and comfortable. We'll definitely be back. read more

Oh my gosh. New staple whenever I visit Idaho Falls! Even during COVID you could sample their yummy cheeses and their grilled cheese sandwiches were so simple and so good. Fresh sourdough with whatever cheese you like! I didn't love their tomato soup (it was a bit salty and thick) but their sandwiches were awesome, their gelato was rich and flavorful and their atmosphere was classic and modern. read more

Not alot of love on Yelp for this place and that's a shame. This was a wonderful place to visit! It has, without a lot doubt, some of the best icecream I have ever had. It's all homemade there. They have a really big selection and they let you sample alot too. Awesome and delicious and very reasonable pricing. I'm not from here so I just passed by on a whim and I'm glad I didAl! The cheese was also good. Their cheese is mostly just flavored cheddar. It's all homemade. I will see, they have a unique flavor and you can actually taste the difference. I was very impressed! I eat alot of cheese so I do have some credibility when it comes to opinions. I purchased a 2yr old aged cheddar and I'm muching away. So good! They let you sample everything too herr It's a cute place, right off of i15 north. If you have a chance to stop in Idaho falls, this is 100% worth your time. Highly reccomend read more

The cheese tasting goes on in the front of this charming, modern log cabin. I personally was not a fan of the cheeses as a whole, but they do have many different types for many different palates. We had succeeded in skipping breakfast. So, by stopping here, tah dah, this became our (free) breakfast! And that would have been great...if it weren't for the ice cream parlor lurking in the back of the building. Rats......foiled....... by ice cream...........again. Yes, ice cream is my Achilles heel. Well, I honestly have several more heels that Achilles would be proud to claim. But this place sets the bar pretty high for really wonderful ice cream. Reed's Dairy is the brand name of the ice cream and is such a vast improvement over the rather ordinary Farr's Ice Cream we have commonly found throughout the state. Reed's is so creamy and the flavors are exceptional without being cloyingly sweet. We succumbed to Mint Cookie and Strawberry Cheesecake after several tastings. An unexpectedly great stop, right in the middle of nowhere on my map (but perhaps for the locals, that would be an insult). You will find this easily, right off the freeway, not that far from adventures in West Yellowstone. I think you should definitely stop! read more

Stick to selling cheese and Gelato. As an eatery selling only a miniature grilled cheese in factory made bread that measures 4x4 inches wide and maybe 1/4 thick with Bacon bits for the Bacon grilled cheese sandwich it's beyond sad. And when the only side is a very bitter cup of tomato soup it's worse. Seriously we'd traveled 8 hours from north Idaho and my husband REALLY wanted a nice thick grilled cheese, possibly with a salad, heck even a packaged salad like you get at a truck stop, it was a MAJOR let down! The Gelato was great however. But that's not why we came. And as far as staff is concerned, smiles go a long way. And greeting the people walking in, especially when not another soul is there is the bare minimum. Visiting with girlfriends and not even turning until the client says, " Are we supposed to order here, or go sit down "? The buddies can wait. Not the client. Stick to making cheese and Gelato. read more

The cheese's I had were a the best I've ever had in all of Idaho. They will let you test every cheese in the store no questions asked and will let you order a cheese sandwich with whichever cheese you liked. A friend of mine had a spicy cheese and he was immediately offered some gelato ice cream to cool himself off. The sorbets and gelato were also super delicious. Plenty of seating around the whole store. read more

I walked in expecting the best grilled cheese I've ever had. They definitely met my expectations. The manager seemed a little stern but the 2 ladies that made my food were very friendly and welcoming. The tomato basil soup is definitely an acquired taste, but if you dip the sandwich it's much better. Would recommend to anyone needing a quick lunch or just seeking out one of the hometown gems of Idaho falls. read more

Very good gelato, such good prices, good flavors, the best waffle cone I ever had. The tomato soup though was no good, it reminded me of over seasoned marinara sauce. Please change up the tomato soup it could be much better. But nevertheless this place is great and the people are nice. read more

Such a cool little find! Very fun tasting all their different local cheeses and examining all the imported strange ones. Had grilled cheese sandwiches (which were smaller than expected but dang tasty) and their soup. Skip the soup. It's more like marinara sauce, which was ok to dip your crusty sandwich in, but not to just eat. None of us finished our soup, and it was a small cup. If they'd tune up their soup it would be an easy five stars! They also have gelato, which was a highlight for the kids and grownups alike! Raspberry was amazing, as was the mango and the kiwi. Really every flavor we tried was very good. We'll definitely hit this place again next time we're in town and hope their soup has improved by then! Fun, cute, and very clean place! read more

Excellent choices of cheese and great customer service!

It was our first time to come here today, Sunday, March 9. It was around 1:00pm. Place was busy. We placed our grilled cheese orders around 1:20. About 2:15, we were still waiting for our order. I asked the staff at the grill and told them it's been almost an hour since placing our order and we still haven't had our name called. The shift manager looked at the grill and told me it's our order on the grill. Finally after 15 mins they called our name. Sadly, we were also told that the tomato bisque is running really low. Three of us opted for chips instead but one of us still wants the soup. Well, the soup is more like spaghetti sauce at this time. He didn't end up having it. One of us talked to the shift manager to let him know of our experience. I was hoping he'd be more nice but he was raising his voice and very condescending. He apologized and refunded our money. Truly that's not our concern. One man in our group is a successful GI Specialist and the cost is not the issue. It's how the two staffers attitude that really exacerbated our bad experience to worst. I know they're young kids and perhaps they had a bad day too. But you do not raise your voice to an 84 year old man who raised his concern in a polite way. I was a hotel executive in one of the mega resorts in Las Vegas for 20 years. I know how to accept criticism from a customer and I know you do not raise your voice at them and act combatant. It's too bad, the place was nice and the gelato was good. But we are not going back. read more

Soooo Good!!!!! Ordered the Old Faithful grilled cheese, wifey had the grilled bacon cheese, daughter had the grilled bacon cheese, son had the mild grilled cheese (lunch special), nephew had the pepperoni (lunch special). Lunch special includes a drink and tomato soup. Tomato soup is okay, but still rating this great establishment 5 stars. Why? Very friendly staff, also very helpful with the types of cheeses (knowledgeable), clean establishment and bright. Also, great selection on gelatos. Generous amount. It's also right across the museum. read more

Due to a series of unfortunate events I was stranded in Idaho Falls for a day. I did not plan on coming to this city, but I was extremely delighted to be here because of this God sent establishment. After visiting the museum a cheese store across the street caught my eye, thinking I have nothing to loose I decided to go in and explore. To my surprise this spot was a little peek into what heaven would look like. It was like I was a kid again running around looking at all the toys but I was actually running around trying every cheese they offered. After trying about 35 different cheeses I decided to have a $2 grilled cheese sandwich that reminded me of being a child again in a medium income white home, amazing. Since the grilled cheese sandwich was so amazing I decided why not give the $2 gelato a chance and to no disappointment it was extremely delicious gelato. The food 10/10, dessert 10/10 and service was 11/10. I would recommend this place to any one even thinking about Idaho Falls. read more

Super friendly staff. The restaurant is very clean with ample seating for groups. We fed all five of us, including additional cheese, meat, and gelato for under $70. This is a lovely shop with beautiful flower pots on the steps leading into the store. It has a large selection of cheddar cheeses, I bought Old Faithful and Staver. Delicious. I sampled several Cheese curds and bought Ranch and jalapeño flavored ones. Don't miss stopping here if you are near Rigby Idaho. read more

Fantastic food. Friendly staff. And $5 lunch?! Yes please!!! Highly recommend if you love grilled cheese, tomato soup and gelato!

I bought a small tub of white cheddar cheese curds at G's Dairy Delights in Rexburg. This product has an excellent flavour. It does not have the addition of die or any other unusual things that often happens with cheese. I found the curd to be firm as well, almost crystalline in the way it breaks apart. It is a bit pricey, but it really is worth the quality and flavour! read more
