We have seen the bakery for a while and finally went in. Everything in the cases looked great so we decided to try a couple of things. We selected a shrimp Thai soup and a chicken curry hand pie. We also got a goat cheese and fig danish and german cinnamon roll. We had the soup and hand pie tonight and were very pleased. The soup had lots of shrimp and was spicy and flavorful without being too hot. The hand pie was delicious. The pastry was so light and flaky with a delightful butter taste. The curry chicken had a very good flavor and the combination of the two was terrific! I had a small bite of the german cinnamon roll before dinner and, again, the pastry was light and flaky with a great butter flavor. There was a good amount of cinnamon and brown sugar in the roll. I'm going to have more of it later tonight! The young lady behind the counter (I don't remember her name) was very helpful, describing the options well. We chatted with her while we made our choices. We took our food to go so I didn't see the entire store - next time. And there will be a next time! read more

A bakery with European pastries...in Idaho Falls... I never thought I would find such a bakery which made me fondly remember my visit to Vienna, Austria. Elevated Bake Shop did just that! I was warmly greeted by Brittany who was able to answer any of my questions. And she shared with me some of her favorites. I choose three to sample, cutting each in half so I could take some home to my spouse. Then I had the 32 oz coffee - French press. The ham & cheese croissant was amazing, light, fluffy, melt in my mouth kind of amazing. The blueberry scone was a perfect example of a fantastic British scone. It was moist, very lightly sugared on top, and rich tasting. Lastly was a new one on me, but it truly felt like I was in Vienna as an outdoor sidewalk cafe trying a new pastry. This fantastic pastry was a Kouign Amann (pronounced Queen). It is so hard to describe the texture - sweet, dense, moist - just does not describe the amazing taste experience of this lovely treat. And last - the French Press coffee was tasty and not bitter. I like my coffee black even when it is bitter. But they are using a high grade of coffee beans and it shows in the smooth taste of the coffee. They even give you a little timer so you know when you can press the coffee and begin pouring. It was a delightful breakfast. What I took home to my spouse was equally enjoyed. When I asked how it was the answer I got was I had to be protected from the left overs - so they were gone before I wanted more. Grin read more

We came in from out of town to stop to take a work call before continuing our trip. Ended up buying a fresh sourdough and Britney, upsold me on a couple Kouign Amanns, as an impulse try. The Kouign Amann was, perhaps, the best pastry I have had in years. Britney is also super friendly, great with kids, and attentive to all the customers. The place also is also very comfy, well decorated, had drawing and painting paper on the tables, and friendly to all. If I lived here, I would go often and buy all the Kouign Amanns. read more

Very excited that this in in Idaho Falls! We have been waiting and hoping for a place like this for years! The croissants were delicious! I got a chocolate one and it was flakey, buttery, chocolatey and very well made. My wife got a fig, goat cheese croissant that was drizzled in honey. We were traveling south on I-15. Yelp had a positive review so I wanted to try it - we're not into fast foods. However the Google map directions were poor. After a very circuitous route we arrived. It was worth the drive though. It turned out to be a neighborhood type cafe - everything is homemade - bread, salad dressings, cookies, cinnamon rolls - everything. Our waitress, Kathryn, was attentive and efficient. She was spot-on describing the food. David is the owner and came to ask how our lunch was. Nice, real people. I had the Mediterranean salad with lemon tahini dressing with two slices of sourdough bread...yummmm. My husband had a chicken club sandwich with a beautiful slice of a yellow tomato. The first time I went the food and service were good. I was excited to take my grandma to this new little local place for our girl day out. Unfortunately the second time was a complete let down. The service was absolutely horrible and the food tasted aweful (and I really mean AWEFUL). The highlight of this encounter is my grandma and I had a good laugh over how bad it really was. I may go back to give it another try, but I'm not rushing out the door anytime soon. read more

This is the second time I have stopped in this gem of a restaurant! My husband sticks to his French Toast - which is amazing, and I tend to the savory quiches! Today I had the quiche Lorraine. The food here is absolutely delicious!! Please support them as it would be huge shame to lose this wonderful place. I have been twice already and the first time I had the bacon mac & cheese. Today I had the roast beef sliders and OMG it was soo good! The meat was tender and juicy and full of flavor. The buns were clearly homemade as you can't buy anything that tasty anywhere. The apple galette is wonderful! The crust is flaky and delicious. I commented to my mother that I would happily eat the crust by itself it was that good. What a find! We arrived for Breakfast. The menu offered a variety of unique and delicious sounding selections. The decor was formal yet casual. The meals were delicious and filling. Everything sounded amazing!! We tried the first item on the menu. I think it was called Croque Madame!! We also had french toast and a few pastries. Loved it all. It was a cross between home made and gourmet cooking. The atmosphere was fun. Loved the local artists' paintings and the paints on the table. What a unique touch!! We also got to talk with the owner. We decided to come here for Sunday brunch and the food was great. We ordered a Chèvre Avocado toast and the Quiche Lorainne. Both were great! Ohhhh my...I have conflicted feelings about the review I am about to give this restaurant: on the one hand I want everyone to know how delicious, fresh and creative the food is here...and on the other hand I don't, for fear I won't be able to get my tasty breakfast as fast as usual when it BLOWS UP with new patrons. Seriously do not wait to try their breakfast..I had the Dave's holiday, which was a unique combination of hearty and light and mixed with delicious flavor: it was green Chile pork, black beans and eggs your way, over hearty perfectly browned skillet potatoes, topped with cotija cheese, crema and fresh tomatoes. Beautiful and by far the best breakfast I have had in a long time. Hubby had the Roast beef hash, and he raves abut that one as well. They have a limited menu and fresh local coffee as well as homemade pastries and their specialty sourdough bread. Friendly fast service, I dot know what more I could ask. LOVE. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed your first experience at 1 Fine Cafe. At first glance when I entered I thought it was a little bit stark, not a huge amount of decor. Very clean and streamlined and surprisingly comfortable and welcoming. The service was top notch! Very friendly and was very knowledgeable of every item on the menu. I actually tried a couple different things on the menu the Croque Madame and I also ordered the kids "size" silver dollar pancakes with their mixed berry sauce.
