We obtained several estimates and decided to go with a well-established contractor, Pavestone Brick Paving, based on their reputation and experience. (We decided against hiring landscapers who also installed pavers even though their quotes were somewhat lower.) We visited some paver driveways that Pavestone constructed in our village and were impressed with the quality of their work. We also were bolstered by a visit to their facility in Des Plaines where we met the office staff and viewed the construction equipment. From start to finish, the experience was smooth and pleasant. We worked with Sergio, and I was completely satisfied with the service that he provided. From his initial visit to our house, through the discussions of the quotation, and conversations during the ongoing work, he displayed a pleasant demeanor and maintained contact with us, by phone and email. I felt quite comfortable working with him. He made useful suggestions during the planning process, such as rerouting the lower section of our downspouts below ground to discharge into our yard. I was also pleased that he was able to replace an unneeded section of our old driveway with sod. He provided samples of paver stones to assist us in choosing the best fit for our house and even created computer-generated renderings, depicting our house and driveway with the selected pavers installed (see photo). The job began about a month after we signed the contract. The crew of 5 men, led by Hector, worked tirelessly over a period of 6.5 days, in heat and occasional (light) rain, leading to a very attractive outcome. Each worker knew exactly what to do, and the team did their job in concert like a well-oiled machine. (See the photos which depict the progress of the project, from start to finish.) We are quite pleased with the outcome; the result is an attractive driveway that has become the envy of my neighbors. I have received many compliments from them in the days following completion. In summary, Pavestone Brick Paving transformed the worn and aged look of our driveway and walkways into an aesthetically appealing complement to our house's facade. We inherited a front stoop from the previous homeowner that was reinforced with brick risers and…read morepavers. On the top stoop, there were several bricks that were deteriorating below our front doormat. It looked like some of the bricks on the edge were replaced over time and either didn't match or were unlevel. The hardest part was finding a replacement brick that matched in color and size. It turns out, they don't make these particular bricks anymore. We called Stonemark Hardscapes along with 2 other companies to have them all assess the situation and propose solutions. Pete from Stonemark seemed the most knowledgeable and we liked his solution the best. Even though the same style brick didn't exist, he gave us some to choose from and said they could be cut to fit the interior bricks on the stoop and the size difference wouldn't be noticeable. He also agreed to fix the loose bricks on both the first and second stoop and put in some chicken wire around the whole stoop, which we had requested in an attempt to prevent the annual digging/nesting of skunks and opossums. When he and his crew showed up, they were courteous enough to stay off the new grass seed that I had just planted off of our walkway. For an additional charge, they added paver sand and sealer for the whole walkway and stoop. They got the job done in one day and we were very pleased with the work! We loved how the replacement bricks looked even with the old bricks as a border. They were a little on the expensive side, but I think I got the right value for the price. There were a few minor issues with a couple of things, but after a lot of communication with Pete, they took care to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and the end result.

My 92 year old grandmother, a client of Justin's for OVER a decade, has a beautiful garden bed full of massive amounts of BIENNIAL SELF-SEEDING Black Eye Susans, rudbeckia, and coneflowers. First, in 2022, despite telling them NOT to cut down the flowers (so they can RESEED themselves in order to remain in the garden) they CUT down EVERY SINGLE FLOWER HEAD. THOUSANDS of seeds - gone! As a result, Justin offered my grandmother only a small discount on spring service. Despite him promising my grandmother that Belter Landscaping would not touch the flowers and not cut them down ( again since they are biennial self-seeders that rely on reseeding in order to remain each year...) he BROKE that promise and allowed them to once again, cut EVERY SINGLE FLOWER DOWN! So many years were shed. My grandmother is in her 90d and now won't know if these flowers will ever return. Thousands of seeds tossed away after she told them not to cut them and even worse? He promised her he would not do it and allowed this to happen again - to my 92 yr old grandmother who has been a dedicated client. The broken trust is unbelievable. This has completely devastated not only her, but the entire family.
