Referral from my realtor. Last fall I sent several emails with extremely slow responses and no luck obtaining a quote. I assumed my timing was off so I tried again this spring. Again poor communication. Chasing someone to get back to me to schedule a visit didn't give me the warm and fuzzies so I emailed Katie the office manager and I received back timely I might add, "good luck with your project." I found out about this business through several local neighborhood chat groups. I'm a local realtor and interior designer so I have bought standards (and lots of opinions) about projects like these. I have had nothing but the best rapport, support, design and install from Maureen and her team. They undertook a huge front and back yard project. We completely relandscaped the front of my 115 year old bungalow with a lush perennial garden (and added in some of my mature plants from elsewhere on the property). We carved out two huge new beds and they are chock full of plants I love. We had a mud bowl going on in our backyard. Maureen came and made suggestions for patio pavers. showed us many choices from least to most expensive. She had a few suggestions, like a trim around the paved areas, that were much appreciated. She got us in early due to a cancellation. She's called her actions "responsible landscaping," implying she didn't want to do anything that might impede my ability to sell my house as planned. Here's the thing, I wasn't asking for an opinion or consultation on curb appeal, I was looking for a someone to do work I didn't have time to do (selling a house is busy work). Since she opted not to do the job and wasted my time, my wife and I decided to do the work we had in mind on our own. Took us a weekend we didn't have to spend. And guess what. We put our house on the market, signed a sale two days later for more than our asking price, and all without her sod lol. *UPDATED REVIEW* Went back to this company for more work a year after using them to prep my yard for the patio I put in last year. They're affordable and worked quickly last time, so I figured they could handle my next job. However, Maureen Taylor is the rudest person on the planet, so I'm dumping them and never looking back. She came out for a survey and estimate and pushed sod on me instead of the work I wanted. I appreciated her input, but she never listened to my plans, so she never provided an estimate for anything but sod. When I ultimately decided against sod, she straight up told me I'm "on my own" and decided she didn't have time to provide another estimate or do my job. Her email was super unprofessional. I don care how affordable her offer was, I'd rather spend more money with someone who understands customer service. ------ Fast, affordable, friendly and high-quality are the words I would use to describe the service I was provided by Taylor Made. My wife and I put in a patio a few weeks ago. We did the paver work on our own, but had Taylor Made do the initial excavation, as we didn't really know what to do with 140sqft of soil once we dug it up. The crew showed up at 8am and got right to work. They pulled out the soil, laid down the base gravel and the leveling sand (which was actually more affordable than buying the materials at a retail/big box store and laying it ourselves), pulled up a couple of dead trees from the yard and left a very clean space when they finished up. They were in and out in under 3hrs, which was much faster than I had anticipated. I'm very happy with the work Taylor Made did to help get my patio project started and I would absolutely use their services again. read more

Maureen redid our small back yard and installed a new patio and stone steps. The steps were done incorrectly (smaller that the original, so we could not reinstall our railing). Maureen and Federico worked to fix the problem and get the railing installed. The work crew was fast and efficient. In the end the yard looks great and we have really enjoyed it. Maureen was helpful in discussion options to lower the cost if we wanted to do certain things ourselves, which was refreshing. My only critique is that communication can be spotty. Answers to question took longer to receive than promised. And I was a bit confused as to what was included in the quote we were offer and what was not. I had a great experience with Maureen/Taylor Made Landscape Design. I was in a position where I had neglected my garden for a few years and was unsure of how to bring it back to its former glory. I hired Maureen for a consult, with the idea that she would help me take stock of the garden--admittedly kind of a puzzle because it was early in the season and most of my perennials had barely emerged--and to provide some advice, and perhaps be involved with future work in terms of infrastructure. Maureen gave me some helpful general ideas regarding plantings, and when I told her I wanted to replace my old patio, she made a simple new patio design on the spot that complements the curved shape of my flower beds. During the consult I got the feeling that she was looking out for me, coming up with alternatives that were affordable. She also supported my initial garden design and gave me confidence that I was in a good place with my previous work. Totally worth the $75 consulting fee. I contracted with her for the patio. Maureen emailed me a more detailed design with her proposal and managed to nab me some bluestone that was secondhand but in great shape, and therefore cost-beneficial and in the style I love. BTW, the $75 consulting fee was applied toward the very reasonable cost of the patio. Maureen was there on the first day of the patio work to assure everything would go to plan, then the able workers, Beto and Rodrigo, took over. These guys were great: they pulled up my old patio pavers and, per my request, stored them elsewhere on my property for future use. They broke up and removed an unexpected cement frame beneath the old patio. They laid out and shaped the stones to form a beautiful pattern that shows off the spectrum of colors that bluestone comes in. Hence, 5 stars. read more

My front yard was a complete disaster. After years of mediocre attempts to make our front look as good as the addition we had done, my husband and I threw up the white flag and asked the professional. I happened to come across Maureen's name on Yelp and am I ever glad I did. From the initial visit I could tell Maureen had a special gift. Unfortunately my husband wasn't home for the consultation but she came back on another day to explain her ideas to him as well. Can you give a zero? We awarded Maureen a big job, full landscaping to a dirt palette. The job started with a missed appointment. Once we finally met, we reviewed plans which were satisfactory, the shortfall was in the preparation for the job. Taylor Made never inspected/tested the soil and did not reform it prior to planting. As a result, most plants died. At this point, I requested they re-dig and replace with new soil (after doing research myself on how to repair soil) Taylor Made repaired and replaced the plants, but did not do any research or dig deep enough for full repair. Throughout the summer Taylor Made was called upon to look at the "sick" garden. Often she blamed her water vendor (a partnership secured and paid by her). At the end of the summer, given all the problems, we agreed to extend the warranty into the following year. The following year a tree died. On her request, we called care of trees to examine the tree, they confirmed the roots never took and the tree was dead. Upon informing Maureen the tree was confirmed dead, she ignored all correspondence and did not stand by her commitment, we had to replace the tree at our expense. There are many other things I could write that are negative about our experience, but the facts speak loud enough. read more

We are unbelievably happy with what Maureen and her crew were able to accomplish with our tiny front yard. We have managed to create a tiny, private oasis out of a 14x24' area in our front yard - in the city.
