Manraj Kitchen is a North Indian restaurant. Small business, women and minority owned. They are still in the process of getting everything up and running starting with signage. The owner (Ranjit Kaur) is a delight to talk to. Service was good. Prompt seating. Got the appetizer platter served with the tangy tamarind date chutney and spicy green (cilantro mint) sauce. The fritters, samosa and the kebabs were great. Loved the Punjabi samosa! The Peshawari Naan was just as I expected, sweet and perfectly warm. The Mixed Grill could have been better with a Tandoori sauce on the side. It was served with complimentary rice but there was no liquid to supplement the rice and the meat. Could have been marinated a bit longer. The variety of chicken, seafood, kebabs was great but was kind of dry and hard to eat. Something that the owner can certainly look at and improve. I would certainly love the try their other curries. Wouldn't hesitate to give them a try again and refresh my review. Note: They have a small convenience store inside the restaurant. This used to be Happy Express and am glad to see an Indian restaurant in its place.

What a great surprise in Auburn! Craving some vegetarian, Indian food, and this restaurant is a hidden gem. Food was clearly homemade and tasted delicious, Owner is very inviting and courteous, and the ambiance is authentic Indian. I had the vegetarian combo with an additional Kheer for dessert. Best spot for amazing Indian food.

Still my favorite Indian restaurant in the area! They have been around for 25 years and it's easy to see why they continue to be a local favorite. While they may be a little bit pricey, they offer generous coupons for takeout orders and you can order online! We are big fans of their garlic naan, sweet naan, butter chicken, tikka masala, korma, palak paneer, biryani, and pakora. They also have Thali or combination dinners if you're feeling indecisive or unsure about what to order. While the ambiance is a little dated, their warm dishes, convenient location, and pleasant staff members make up for it. Definitely come here!

Do you love Indian food? You will love this place. The spices in each dish were perfectly blended. You like it spicy? They serve it spicy. I went with 5 Stars on the spice because I roll like that and it was the perfect amount of heat. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.

Garlic Naan

Friendly staff, food is absolutely delicious! Picked up some to go for a work lunch, crew left no leftovers!

Is there a buffet lunch here?

I do not believe so. This is set up as a sit-down restaurant... or carry out.

Do they offer gluten free nann?

They have several different flavors of Mann. But I don't know if any are gluten free. We tried three different flavors between the three of us.

We used to come here before 2020 at least once a month, other than our grumpy Indian waiter lady , we were ok with this place. Now, The place looks run down and the crowd is non Indian mainly. Which is probably why everything looks curry like but nothing tastes like authentic Indian food. It's a no for me. If you want traditional Indian food, this will disappoint you. The staff here is non Indian , is almost mechanical, and regurgitate learned information about the menu, they don't ask you what you want to drink , they are just marching around cleaning but no effort of being personable. They have signs : 1) no cell phone, 2) you will be charged for food left on your plate, 3) an extra charges for using credit card. It's feels like you are eating in a catholic mass you will be punished if the matron finds you are misbehaving. If you have read this far, find a better Indian restaurant, but you will be disappointed if you are Indian or love true authentic Indian cuisine and go here.

So, read the restaurant's reviews online initially before trying it out for lunch. When we arrived for lunch, got greeted once we walked in and were seated at a table with menus. My family and I looked through the menu and ordered the Chicken Samosas to start off with as Appetizers. Then placed an order of the Chicken Curry (Medium spice level), Chicken Tikka Masala (Hot), one Chicken Biryani (Hot), 1 x Roti, 1 x Regular Naan, and 2 X Garlic Naan Bread. For drinks, we just had water. The Samosas came out first. Then 15 mins later, all of our bread and entrees came out. I think we were all expecting the food to be more flavorful and spicier. I don't know, but the Naan were bland, even the Garlic one. Wanted to taste the garlic flavor on that a little more, so that didn't meet our expectations. The Basmati Rice was also a bit on the bland side. Maybe it was missing the butter or salt that I was used to from other Indian restaurants? I'm not really sure.... The Chicken Curry and Chicken Tikka Masala were simply alright. Barely tasted any spiciness, so that seemed off. I mean, they weren't bad per se, just didn't meet our expectations of the usual Indian food that we were used to in the past. Overall: Food - 3 out of 5 Service - 3 out of 5 Another Con may be the Parking. If there are no spaces out in front available on the main street, you'll have to drive around the back to find Public Parking near the Police Station.
