Delicious breakfast ham steak, side of sausage.

Visited Saturday, June 21, 2025. I'm visiting from Los Angeles, and am once again reminded of the wonderful experience I have eating here. Breakfast was delicious! Had the Virginia Ham Steak, side order of sausages, home fries, and white toast. Tasty and flavorful. My brother had the Western omelette which he enjoyed. The service was quick and accurate, and was impressed with the attentiveness of our server watching over us. I have tried other locations for breakfast, but none compare. And to top it off, Maria, who was working the register, was a real joy to talk to. Very fiesty in a good way! I will be back for the food and the fiestiness!

Jersey burger cooked to perfection and juicy. Egg was amazing.

Totally surprised. I was expecting a walk up counter hot dog joint with 4 items on the menu only to find it has a giant, full-on diner menu with sit-down service. The service was prompt and friendly. The food came out lightning quick. Nice ambiance as well. The Texas Weiner was not my favorite thing. The hot dog was a little underdone and shrivelly at the same time. It did have a good snap to it, however and was plenty tasty. The chili was a bit weird. Almost had a Cincinnati chili thing going on. Maybe a bit of cinnamon? Not bad, just a bit odd. The burger on the other hand was superb. Got the Jersey burger. The patty is grilled instead of griddled and had a nice scald on it while being juicy on the inside. The Taylor ham was fried up well and the sunny side egg was cooked to perfection, which is pretty rare for an egg on a burger. The fries were classic diner crinkle cut fries. Crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside. So, very pleasantly surprised overall. They did have off brand ketchup, which I normally knock a star off for but the positives far outweighed the annoyance of that. Been driving by this place forever and glad I finally tried it.

I've eaten here a couple times and I always order the Weiner combo #2 with home fries well-done. The menu is big but the combo hits the spot. The food is good and comes out fast. The waitress are crazy but crazy is a good way. Makes the dining experience more lively.

I was expecting this to be like any other NJ Hot Dog joint, but this should be considered Manny's Diner. The exterior is cute, the inside is clean, and the menu is much longer than we thought it would be. They serve an extensive breakfast, with a long list of other options, including chicken sandwiches, fried shrimp, and soup. We ordered a hot dog (plain) and a texas weiner (the same, but with mustard, onions, and chili) and a cheeseburger deluxe. It was all fine, I prefer the hot dogs, but they don't make them often enough to be labeled a hot dog place. The buns and the chili seemed a little dry and stale, but not bad. The burger was exactly what you would expect from a diner, some goodnplain food with cole slaw and a pickle. All in all, great experience. We will absolutely be coming back with a different mindset to give some other menu items a try!

Been coming here since before i was born.. maybe a little biased, so be it.. anybody giving 2 and 1 star just dont know what you were getting yourself into.. and dont know how to handle a place like this. sometimes, like anywhere, they might miss.. chances are, you had higher expectations which for here are not allowed (lol). You go for the breakfast, the breakfast samiches, fried food, and a solid burger.. it says mannys texas wiener, but you gotta find where the real gold is..

All I can say is EEWWWW! I've driven past this place for yrs. and finally decided to stop in. I ordered a chili dog and the Greek Burger, lets first dissect the burger which consisted of: Feta Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onions, Tzatziki Sauce & Oregano, wrapped in a Pita. First, I asked for no tomatoes and got it anyway. Second, the feta cheese wasn't the normal crumbly texture, it was rubberier. Third, the tzatziki sauce was a runny liquid rather than the normal stiff stuff and tasted disgusting. Fourth, the burger itself was flavorless but bearable. Fifth, my fries were under cooked. And lastly, the coleslaw was dry. And now the chili dog... The hot dog literally tasted like bologna (yuck) and never in my life have I seen chili like this. It was dry, grainy, and tasted nothing like chili. I legit trashed everything.

Fish and chips with side of Cole Slaw

I usually order the fish and chip platter which has a side of fat fries and yummy cole slaw. I wish the tartar sauce was not the brand by Ken's. The fries arrive hot and the cole slaw comes on a bed of lettuce with what appears to be sprinkling of black pepper. The battered fish is fried okay; I'd like it to be fried a tad bit more but it's okay. Place is busy and many of the staff have been there decades. Parking is not bad since the opening of another lot. I was there on a Sunday at about 12:30 pm. Price for my meal in December 2023 is $17.95 without tax and tip. There is no tap and pay, you can use your credit card with a 3% added charge or you can use cash.

It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

In fact, this time it looks to be a literal home. We stopped by last night to watch my beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs end their tournament run against Purdue. I could go into quite a bit of detail about some very shady calls in the paint and what I think should have been a taunting foul on Purdue's future proctologist Fletcher Loyer, but I digress. As soon as I walked in, I could tell I was going to like it. Prior years have been marred by loud sports bar atmospheres where you have to battle tooth and nail to convince someone to change the channel to something that isn't a mediocre NYC-area sports team (I say this as a Mets fan as well). Liberty was significantly quieter, definitely had an older crowd but also had numerous TVs throughout. The best of all worlds. I walked maybe 10 feet from the entrance, asked the bartender if she could switch the TV to the Zags on TBS, and that was that. Aside from a weird moment in the second half when the TV mysteriously changed to ESPN for a few minutes (we never confirmed the culprit), we had primo viewing of the game. Somehow we also managed to sit down next to a couple whose son was currently at Purdue. What a world. Vibe is everything with a place like this. I did a mild double-take when I realized the bar was located in a literal residential neighborhood in what may be someone's actual house (or at least upstairs). There's a parking lot on the side that had plenty of spots, and overall this was one of the most conveniently located establishments I've ever been to - it's about 30 seconds from Route 78 both ways. Initially I felt bad for the neighbors, but as bars go this is not exactly one that's going to be hosting raucous throwdowns outside or anything. You may actually be able to go to bed at 9pm living next door, which is my personal dream. The interior has a lot of tchotchkes behind the bar, and is surprisingly comfortable/spacious. The game started a little after 7:30pm on a Friday, but there were seats available right in front of the TVs and most of the patrons seemed to be in the back area playing pool. It did get a little more crowded throughout the game, but never to a point where it felt claustrophobic. The clientele demo skewed all over the place - several older codgers looked like they'd been rejected from Rock of Love Charm School (I thought one in particular was a dead ringer for Poison's CC DeVille), but there was also a few young men roaming around and middle-aged couples/singles throughout the establishment as well. Pretty much anyone who would theoretically come into a bar, did. We had a good bartender, who not only accommodated my TV request, but was friendly and accessible throughout our stay. I was in a sweet palate mood, and she offered to make a Hawaiian Volcano, apparently a drink pilfered from her days at TGI Friday's years ago. It's not something I'd necessarily get on a regular basis, but it definitely brought me back to my early legal drinking years for sure. I could taste some Malibu and juice, and sipped them throughout the game. We also got mozzy sticks and a pepperoni bar pie. Both were really decent for what they were, especially the mozzy sticks, which were fried perfectly. I thought the pizza tasted like a giant Bagel Bite, which is not an insult. But let's be clear - this is a dive bar, so it's not like you're wandering into the kitchen and stumbling across Jeremy Allen White from The Bear. You want something fairly tasty to munch on, and we got it. Strong recommend. I think expectations for a dive bar should be pretty simple - comfortable and pleasant. This was certainly that, minus the March Madness heartbreak.
