Muy delicioso! If you love your Mexican food, don't miss Manny's. They have a pretty extensive menu. It is very casual, ordering at the counter and then sitting outside in the beautiful sunshine or inside. Food and drinks are delivered to the table, and very quickly. The 3 taco plate was so, so, good. We tried a pulled pork, steak, and a chicken soft taco and they were all incredible. The meat was tender and flavorful and the tacos were huge! My husband enjoyed huevos rancheros with the addition of some chorizo. He was a very happy camper! His meal was also a really generous size, hot and yummy! Firstly, if you love ceviche you'll love Manny's homemade shrimp ceviche. I love it with their homemade corn chips. Sometimes I make a stop there just for the ceviche as my lunch. I enjoyed the food here! It's hard to find options in Kona, much less good Mexican food in Hawaii at all, but Manny's will be my new go-to in south Kona! Great breakfast stop on the way to Captian cook monument, clean bright restrauant done in latin themes. The food was cooked to order everything was fresh, my bacon burrito was loaded with eggs and bacon and a tad of cheese. The spanish rice was amazing. The hueavos rancheros came with 2 perfectly cooked eggs. Service was fast and friendly they also have a drive-up window so they work both the counter and the window so be patient. I'm always passing Manny's and decided I would finally try it. Restaurant was clean with seating inside and outside. Super sweet employees! Patient with me since I wasn't sure what I wanted. All of us wanted carnitas. I had the crunchy carnita tacos - FABULOUS!! The fried flour tortilla is thin and holds the meat very well. My friend tried the Tres Tacos which were stuffed with carnita meat. The plate comes with rice and beans The beans are superb; reminded me of my grandmother's beans that she would cooked in a clay pot. Coworker stated this was the closest he's had to Cali Mexican food since moving here. Very lofty statement. So off we went... ...arrived to something that looks like it could be in LA. But that's when the similarities ended. I ordered a fish burrito and the pupusas. Total was almost $30... After 20 minutes the food arrives! The burrito was okay but had quite a bit of romaine lettuce in it. Never had lettuce in a burrito before. And I never will again. It was a soggy mess. Burrito 5/10. The pupusa's looked promising but that was it. The consistency was weird and the flavor of it was just bland. For the price, it's not a must order. But it was better than the burrito. Overall not worth the 30 minute drive from Kona town. Will keep hunting for good Mexican food. read more

They have great authentic Mexican food! The chorizo burrito is great! The carnitas tacos are wonderful! And they're even a greater deal on Taco Tuesday! Even the plain burrito with beans and cheese is tasty because their refried beans are so great! Their rice is yummy as well, a subtle side dish for your Mexican meal. And any of those are plenty for us for two meals! And hears a best local known secret- Thursday is Tempura Night as the Owner was the prior well-loved head chef at a local Asian restaurant. I suggest the tempura shrimp and tempura veggies. You can eat there inside our out or you can call in your order and drive thru to pick it up. Check out their website for menues. read more

Small restaurant right on the side of a busy road, hence a lot of road noise. Toilets were dirty and flush wasn't working. Ordered chicken tamales and fish tacos. Fish tacos were dry. I don't know what happened to this place. I was a regular, eating there almost every other Taco Tuesday. Consistent food. Pork was tender and moist. They closed over the Christmas season for some reason. When they reopened, they had odd hours, opening at 3:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday? I got our usual Taco Tuesday fare and what a disappointment. The meat was dry and crunchy and the usual flavors were very weak. It was so bad, I don't think I can convince my wife to try them again. We are desperate for a good local mexican food restaurant so we tried Manny's based on a recommendation from our hispanic hairdresser. It was a bust. My husband's chile rellene was flat as a pancake and the cheese was still frozen on the inside. My mother got a quesadilla and it was good. However, the tortillas in my enchiladas must not have been baked before assembly because they were dry and crumbly. The mexican rice was good, but thats not saying much... I love Mannys! The drive through is so convenient especially if you call ahead, service is great and their food is delicious! I think whatever he gets payed isnt enough and should get a raise and on the other hand the big boy with the goatee kept smiling at me with his hand in his pants. I honestly don't know how we ended up eating Mexican on our trip but we did. It's a tiny little place with a drive thru! Really random seeing ppl pull up and wait for their food. Seemed like there was one cook in the back and one girl running the front. It's a seat yourself kind of place with a handful of tables to choose from. We decided to get some spicy wings, nachos supreme, burrito and some tamales. The wings were good. There was a lot of buffalo sauce smothering the chicken, which is the way I like it. Only thing was it wasn't really temperature hot. It was a tad cool, like room temp almost. Nachos supreme were a nice size and your typical nachos. 2 downfalls were it was mostly refried beans and there wasn't a lot of cheese. :( Burrito was a nice size. I opted to get no beans but to get rice instead. Came with salsa and sour cream. It was a little dry, so the salsa went a long way! Tamales were good. Moist and yummy.
