Oh Heck Yeah, still our favorite place on the Big Island. The menu tells you everything. We come here every time we visit and are doing our best to work our way through the menu. This is the roadside restaurant every foodie dreams of opening...but they always fall short. Rebel hits every mark including always having the best service.

We ventured here for a change in our typical Hawaiian dining experience and were pleasantly surprised. It is a small location with locally sourced foods. We were greeted and seated promptly and our server, Maddie, was very friendly. I had the Ono and Shrimp Curry upon her recommendation, and it was delicious. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich with their special garlic and pepperoni fries. He enjoyed his meal as well. We shared the homemade Lilikoi Cheesecake for dessert. Yum!

Four of us braved the rain to have a lovely meal out tonight. Great food (falafel, chicken and other salads), local IPA, sparkling and red wine plus desserts were on our minds. Great staff, easy parking, comfortable vibe and fabulous house sauces (Hawaiian Fire, Kona Ketchup and more) for sale. Out of soup at 5:30 and a bit understaffed/slow service, but we'd happily come back on our next visit. Fairly priced. Vegan friendly.

!We had a great meal at Rebel Kitchen. Cool spot with lots of beers on tap and some interesting drinks (lilikoi spritz) and excellent sauces. I had the fish sandwich on a home made bun with pineapple coleslaw. It was so good!! My friend had the steak nacho fries, also a big hit. The steak was delicious and the fries were fantastic. Our waiter was great and he knew the menu well. We will definitely go back again.

If you are vegetarian and you are here to have the veggie garlic pasta with fried broccoli, that's not on menu any more. Have added the latest menu. The Cajun pasta they served was tasteless, they added more of the Cajun butter, and it was quite tasty after that. They tout their lilikoi cheesecake is best in the world, and it was so tasteless that you can never guess the flavor. The service was quick relatively, their bathroom has no lock! Average interiors and vibe. No crayons for kids.

Checked out Rebel in the Kona area after hearing about it on TV for their hot sauce. The vibe is super relaxed and definitely has that local charm. The owners were there when we stopped in and were really friendly. They mentioned it's been a little slow lately, which is a shame because they're clearly passionate about the place. I had the sangria, which was light and easy to drink. My partner went for the special beer on tap , he liked it, said it was crisp and cold, nothing fancy but hit the spot. We tried the pizza fries as an app... they were okay. Not bad, but not something I'd go out of my way to order again. All in all, it's a chill spot to grab a drink and support a local business. Would be cool to go back and try something else with their hot sauce next time.

Place is small and they warn you before going in that service will be slow...and they're not kidding, one waiter for all the tables. Food was good, portions are tiny. Wings app gave you 4 wings at $16,50 price tag! Parties of 6 automatic 20% so no real incentive for fast service.

I had the privilege of enjoyed an amazing Blackened Ono fish sandwich with fries that were pure perfection! They also have great desserts!

AMAZING food. 100% recommend if you are looking for a tasty meal. Our server was incredible, got us a seat big enough for our group as soon as he could. The restaurant was very tidy and clean as well. I got the rebel burger and upgraded my fries for a dollar for their Parmesan pepperoni fries.

Hands down some of the best on the island. Friendly, genuine, and welcoming the kind of aloha that can't be faked. If you're wondering what to order, you can't go wrong with the butterfish or the hamburger steak both are absolute island classics. And if you're a pork chop fan, you're in for a treat. Manago isn't trying to be trendy or impress influencers. It's an island institution, and that's exactly why it's so special. Mahalo to everyone at Manago for another fantastic meal. They serve Italian food, pastas, and a variety of pizzas, from a 10" personal to group sized. The pizza crusts passing by to nearby tables looked crusty/tall and yummy. We opted for pasta, the Trio for me (I chose the mushroom sauce-my favorite, Marinara-too spicy for me, and the Alfredo-standard fare) which was just right for my dinner $21; my coworker chose the Chicken Parmesan $27, which she enjoyed except she felt the chicken was on the dry side-and to be fair, we were there near closing. Both dishes were truly artfully and beautifully presented, by the way;). There's indoor, outdoor, and even bar seating, with a big screen tv, and a striking faux floral/greenery wall to enjoy. The service was good, though there was one very pleasant server covering the whole restaurant-so we didn't have a chance for a water refill. We were happy they were open until 8:30pm, as places in town and in this touristy area were either already closed, or close between 7-8pm; and though we didn't indulge in a specialty beverage, that bar sure did look inviting;)!

Magics was right down the road from our condo, so that was the choice. When we got there, the place was packed out the door...and it was only about 5:30pm. We considered trying somewhere else, but parking was quite a challenge, and since we found a spot in their lot, we decided to stay and wait it out. But as it turned out, there was a table available inside, so we took it. Apparently, outside seating is preferred here, with beautiful views of the ocean. The one thing we learned after we were seated was that it was directly under a ceiling fan....that did not work. Man, it got warm in there. But the food was worth it. My wife had the flatbread special, which was very good. And I had the Pineapple fried rice with Ono fish, which was outstanding. One of the best dishes during our entire stay on the Big Island. When we first were seated, it was probably 10-15 minutes of just waiting for someone to stop and address us. We were actually at the point of considering walking out, as servers continually walked by our table on the way to the kitchen. Finally, Kylie stopped and asked if anyone had taken our order. I'm not sure it was even her table, but from that point on she took care of us and did a great job. Go early, have patience, and try to get a table outside.

Yes the seating is right on top of the ocean! We were told the seating was for reservations and we were given a tiny table. The food was not good. My plate was grilled fish swimming in a plate of water and it was cold food. My husband's food was cold too and the fries were inedible and undercooked. We have lots of options in Kona, HI so we need not go back to this grill.
