I jumped through all the hoops, got my doctors ok and spent $325 on Man Eye to start the ball rolling to get my eyes fixed. I have called and called for three weeks to get my cataract surgery and have been told over and over again that someone will contact me to set up my appointment for my cataract surgery but no one calls me back. Right now I can't see well out of my left eye and it is bad but I am tired of waiting on Man Eye to call me back so I gave up and started this procedure with another company. It actually pains me to have to write this terrible review, but nonetheless, I think that I should let people know about my experience here. It started off wonderfully, they couldn't have been nicer, everybody from the girl at the front desk to the technicians to the doctor herself, they were all wonderful. Until we went to pick up my 90-year-old mother's glasses. (glasses that may I add, were not the reason we went to see her in the first place. We went to see her for burning eyes, but somehow the doctor managed to convince my mother that she needed a new pair of glasses at 90 years old.) well when we went to pick them up, they were awful, She was complaining that she was dizzy. It was uncomfortable, and that she couldn't see at all out of one of her eyes that it was totally blurry. The tech was going back-and-forth with the Doctor Who was in the back room I guess with a patient . Apparently she couldn't be bothered to come out and see what was going on. I asked to speak to her 3 or 4 times and they told me she was with a patient , so we were basically told to go home for two weeks because there's an adjustment period. I am aware that there is an adjustment. We're also dealing with a 90-year-old woman who just told you that she was dizzy and she couldn't see out of her glasses, so I don't understand how that's the answer. I was told that they couldn't get her to 2020 vision. I never expected them to get her to 2020 vision, but I expected some improvement. I spent $495 on lenses not even including the frames we had our own and when I finally got the doctor out there to acknowledge me after being spoken to by a staff member who I had never even dealt with who told me that I should go home and stay with my mother that she shouldn't be left alone for the two weeks while she might trip and fall over the glasses that were making her feel dizzy, as if my care for my mother was the concern here. I don't know what I expected, certainly not miracles, again I know that she's 90 years old and I didn't expect that she would come out of there with x-ray vision, but I didn't expect that it would get worse and then i'd be treated like I had some nerve questioning the purchase of such an expensive pair of lenses that did absolutely nothing whatsoever to correct her vision, and then be told how I should care for her over the next two weeks by a stranger that just happened to work there . The doctor stood there for five minutes without even acknowledging that she was in the room until I asked for her, yet again. She did nothing to try and rectify the problem or to calm us down . She didn't say come sit down let's talk about it. She didn't say let me look at her eyes again. None of that. Just "go home for two weeks.Good luck " Please be careful going here the one on 1960 especially if you're elderly, they will push you into glasses you don't need and then tell you to kick rocks if you have any concerns about them. Do not get your eyes done here unless you don't mind waiting over two hours in the freezer that they call a waiting room before they even call you back for the procedure. When a complaint was made to the front desk by someone else tired of waiting, they were told that they were NOT running behind. Apparently this is their standard wait policy here. read more

Everything was a smooth process. Rating would be higher if they controlled the temperature in the facility better. 60 degrees for People is excessively cold for short or long periods of time. Something to think about for patients, care takers, and employees at the Humble location. They don't seem to care about adjusting it either so that is a decision problem. The customer service is horrible!!!! I had an appointment (so I thought) for March 8th, . Making the appointment took at least 20 minutes and I was assured that I was all set to go. I never recieved any type of confirmation . Since I live far away I decided to call before I drove an hour and I'm so glad that I did. They had me scheduled for March 15 ... like I'm not even going to be in the country. This type of incompetence is a bad sign. If they can't get it together with scheduling then I worry about the care from the doctors . This is such a shame because I was looking forward to my appointment. First let me praise Dr. K for his communication and kindness when I have exams. Found out my cataracts had grown quicker than expected. Cassie helped me through the process of scheduling and was so pleasant to work with through that pre-surgery process. Day of surgery Melanie and all the staff in the back were just so friendly and really put me at ease. Dr. Hacopian met with me prior to surgery and had me confident I was in good hands. Fantastic experience throughout the whole procedure with Dr. Hacopian talking to me and explaining what was happening. I watched a football game the night of surgery. So thankful for everyone and of course the follow-ups with Dr. K have been great. read more

I recommend that nobody goes to this place they are thieves. They'll tell you that your insurance will cover their services when they don't. I literally told them I don't want to do it if my credit doesn't cover it. They told me don't worry and guess what? Now my credit is being affected because these thieves now are saying it wasn't covered and I have to pay out of pocket. DO NOT GO HERE!!! read more

My wife previously had JAG laser surgery at the Mann Eye Clinic. The preop for the surgery today was in Humble. All doctors visits were at the Humble location. She scheduled her second cataract surgery for today but when we showed up for surgery at 6:45 am today in Humble she was informed that the surgery was downtown, 45 minutes drive. She was contacted the previous day and no mention was made of going to the downtown location. When we arrived downtown location the receptionist had an attitude and insinuated that we were at fault for showing up to the wrong location. When we asked what time the surgery was scheduled for she brushed us off by saying she would check us in and we would be sent back. No answer. They had no problem taking our payment of $3295. if you plan to use the Mann Eye clinic I suggest you ask about the location; it mattered. We drove 30 minutes to the appointment in Humble and the fought traffic for another 45 minutes and then given the run around. read more

I have been going to Mann Eye for years, but it is time to find a new doctor. I booked an 8:00 am appointment so they didn't get backed up during the day before I got there. I showed up at 7:52 and checked myself in. I waited until 8:30 and still hadn't been called back. I checked with the front desk and was told "someone back there has your paperwork ". I waited another 15 minutes and still didn't get called back. Finally had to cancel the appointment and leave. They need to get more organized and start caring about their patients time more like they did years ago. read more

You will never see me again, as a patient. I expected to be examined by a Medical doctor with a degree in Medicine and requested so when I made the appointment. I also requested this for my wife. This all would have been paid for by Medicare, through my insurance plan, as it has been in the past. We were rushed through the registration process, on a computer when we arrived and were told to press the approval buttons throughout. Although, we were given the option of reading the forms before approval, we assumed they were the same type of forms we always approve when we go for other medical care and did not carefully read them. Had I read them carefully, I would have walked out, as I would have done had I been informed we would not be seeing a Licensed, Medical doctor, such as those with M.D. after their name. Nor was I given, verbally, any indication that there would be a separate charge to get the prescription sheet after the exam. As we were being put through the process of testing of the eyes by a technician and machines, I asked her if she does everything or will we be seeing a doctor. She responded that the doctor will see us later. That person introduced herself as Doctor Bennet and proceeded to spend a few minutes completing the exam process. I assumed she was an MD, as she did not clarify that we were not being examined by a Medical Doctor. Nor did I notice a name tag or any other means of knowing what she was. I assumed she was an MD. I only learned the truth when I checked out and they wanted me to pay an additional 50 or 55 dollars for the "refraction(prescription), for each of us. I express my surprise, shock and displeasure at this and will take this up with my Vision Plan, as they also told me the plan would not pay for it because we had both exams on the same day. I was not told of this prior to checking out. My vision plan would have paid, otherwise, with only a small co-pay amount. THIS OPERATION SEEMS LIKE A SCAM AND FRAUD! read more

After writing my review of the Mann Eye Clinic in Humble, a representative, Ashley H. did call place a call to me. I attempted to return her call on several occasions, only to continually get her voicemail. I left several messages asking her to call me again. My last message was if she did not connect with me, to at least leave a time in which she would be available to take my call. I have never heard back after her initial call. This leads me to believe that the comment from the Mann Eye Institute representative, under my initial review, was not genuine and that their lack of concern for their loyal patients ( at least in my opinion and experience) and more concern on taking your money still stands. This is such a shame since I was very pleased with my actual eye surgeon at this location. read more

I had made an appointment for my child to get a chalazion removed. When I spoke with the receptionist before asking about my insurance and what my payment would be at the time she assured me that it could've been done the same day. Ok, great!! Well when we arrived all of a sudden they don't have my insurance and I said yes you do because I was told how much I would be paying today. Took my child to the back without me in there because I had stepped out and looked at her eye just to tell me that their office doesn't do chalazion removals. Ok, ma'am then why are we in the back room if this office doesn't do the procedure. Nonsense maybe I should bring pictures next time to ask if they do anything that looks like this. Dr. P was amazing. Just turned 60 and has the experience to know what he is doing. I guess he is one of the two senior doctors there. They gave me an emergency appointment for which I am grateful. Staff is very courteous and professional, I have gotten my annual I exams for several years at this location And I have always experienced excellent service. However during my most recent visit my granddaughter who was 7 months pregnant came with me and when she started feeling a little sick one of the ladies at the desk offered her water and a snack.She immediately felt better. Two years ago Dr. Mann performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. The entire staff was great, and Dr. Mann was awesome throughout the entire process. This past Sunday, I woke up with a cyst developing on my eyelid. I thought it would go away, so I went to work on Monday but it proceeded to worsen. I was having trouble focusing and was worried I might damage my eye. I left work early and drove straight to Dr. Mann's eye clinic in Humble without an appointment. Luckily they were able to work me in as the last patient and I received treatment from Dr. Bennett. Before I left, I realized that Dr. Krawjecki (who was supposed to leave at 5:00) stuck around to check on me too. The staff is always caring and I actually like going to their office, even though it always costs me money. read more

I waited 2 weeks for my eyeglasses, I called very day for the last 4 days, waiting approximately 20 minutes before a live person got on the phone, that person would put me on hold to "check with optical", and EACH time they came back, not with an answer to my question (are my glasses in the office?) but that they would have to call me back. They took my phone number 4x and I NEVER received a call back. It took me getting very upset before someone would answer my question and yes, my glasses were in the office and had been for over a day. I work in the medical field and this is basic incompetence. I don't understand how this is a "professional facility" with appointments. No one at the front desk , I have my own business and when my clients have an appointment I make sure they are attended at their proper time booked . I arrived 30 minute before my appointment at 1:00 and we have still to be seen ? 1:50 and nothing.... I understand things happen where there maybe running 15 minutes or so behind , possibly 30 minutes at the most but this is ridiculous! read more

I went there for a couple years. I had cataract surgery there. My surgeon was awesome. I saw several doctors there they were all great until I saw Dr Mann. There were some issues after my surgery and they called in Dr.Mann to check out my eyes. For me he was a little bit odd, and even worse when he left the room and kissed me on the cheek. Just did it for me I found that disturbing, rude and downright questionable. My husband was in the room with me he was bothered by it also. I used to love going in to see dr. K. But I have now switched to Berkeley as I cannot bring myself to go back in that office. This happened a couple years ago and it still bothers me. read more

What a disappointing experience. The assistant who brought me in to the first room was really friendly and great. But the next hour plus I spent in the second waiting area while I waited to actually be seen by the dr was unbearable. The Spring clinic is much newer, cleaner and faster ... Unfortunately I had to come here to see the surgeon. I may have to reconsider sticking with them long term. My appointment was at 2pm. 90+ minutes later and I'm still waiting and on the verge of leaving to make another appointment I have in the woodlands this evening. I expect doctors to be on time to see me, or at least see me within a reasonable amount of time. Can I charge you for the time I spent sitting here waiting? My mother had her follow-up consultation appointment last week, Monday, February 22, 2016. Her first appointment was the thing that confirmed that she wanted Lasik because of the professionalism of the staff and the trust that she felt in them. However, upon coming back today, she had nothing but disappointment for the greeting staff and the disrespect that she experienced; that has deterred her from making her decision to go on with the Lasik procedure, which was scheduled to follow this visit. My mom was very excited to be able to get Lasik done in the one eye that the doctors have told her about during her last visit to help with her job. To precede, allow me to mention that the Mann Eye Institute in Humble is under construction so there are two buildings. The morning that my parents went, the weather was dreary and it rained quite a bit. My parents were greeted with an awfully rude office associate. She had requested that my parents pay for this visit, of which MEI's manager had said (last visit) that my mother would not have to worry about it if she decides to go through with the procedure. The associate then requests that my parents walk outside over to the next building to speak to Accounting. My mother followed the instructions without a complaint, but this associate's attitude had already started to become distasteful and unprofessional. After coming back from the other building, the same associate had insisted that my parents wait in the waiting room for another associate to come get them. Low and behold, a nurse, who goes by the name of Anna, came out to take my mom into the exam room, ordering her about with a concerning "Follow me." Surprised by Anna's attitude, my mother continued to play along with this office's unprofessional staff. Anna failed to follow through with the health procedures of washing her hand and sanitizing the examination equipment before using it on my mom (she knew this because the nurse's from the first visit did well to make sure to clean everything before using it on another patient). She then told my parents to return to the waiting room; my mom was still patient with the nurse's attitude. Anna then came back out to get my mom to come back to a different exam room and rudely told my mom to "Sit down." Come time to examine my mother's eyes, she took the examining machine and forcefully slammed it on my mother's face, in the general area of where my mom is supposed to see through the machine My mom said that she had placed the machine wrong so she couldn't read the piece of paper that she had given my mom to read; Anna exclaimed that she placed it correctly without even an attempt to fix her mistake. My mom had to move herself for Anna to get the idea that my mom really couldn't see. Anna then told my mom within 10 or less minutes of examination that my mom needs Lasik in both eyes, and after the procedure, she needs to continue wearing her glasses. Confusingly enough, Anna does not have the professional background to make that conclusion. She then told my parents to return to the waiting room to wait for the doctor. As my mom returned to the waiting room, she had asked a secretary what Anna's name was (that's how I got her name to write this review), in which the secretary's attitude was not any better. Fed up with the service of this supposedly professional setting, my mother left. My parents had walked back and forth between two buildings in the rain to wait 2 and a half hours with no results. Anna had come to a conclusion on my mother's eyes that was much out of her professional capability and had my mom gone through with the procedure, whose responsibility would it be had something gone wrong? Furthermore, there should have been further communication with my mom about the outcome of the procedure, for instance, that she still has to hang on to the glasses that she was so excited to rid of. We are reluctant to make this statement; however, we fear that the employees of this branch were working in some form of discrimination. My evidence: upon my parents stepping out of the office, they overheard Anna excitedly greeted two other customers of Caucasian descent with a very professional "Hello, how are you?" when my mom didn't even get a "Hello." I do hope Mann Eye sees this review; however, if they don't, I would still be happy if someone else was aware of what they are stepping into, what type associates they'll be working with and the level of professionalism that they'll be exposed to. read more

I normally really like the staff and service at Mann Eye, but Monday...I felt the service was horrible (wait time over an hour) and the staff had really crappy attitudes and I noticed a couple of them that I had never dealt with. I hope this was just a one time problem and not going to be an ongoing issue. One girl wouldn't even look at me when I spoke to her, which I felt was very rude.
