This location feels smaller than the Atascocita location. That could be me. And that's not an issue, just an observation. It doesn't take away from the quality of service and the character of the employees which is what matters the most no matter what. Their hours of operation are a bit different as well. Like I believe they are open only one Saturday a month. Don't quote me. Call to verify. Anyway, my eldest son needs an Ophthalmologist, an Optometrist won't cut it. Or at least we haven't come across one who has. We need someone who is caring and who can deal with several challenges. And thankfully Berkley has had two Dr's on staff who have been able to help my son progress amazingly. We appreciate so much the care and attentiveness of the doctors AND the staff. The frames selection at this location is a bit limited. Good prices, just limited on variety. read more

The staff is fast, courteous and professional. My Lamb by Gwen Stefani were affordable. Don't recommend Lamb brand, seems cheaply made. The color red is what got me! They are fast, will get you in and out! Then forget about you. You have to do your own follow ups here. I will go again because of the quickness, next time I will invest in better frames. read more

Excellent experience so far! We brought our prescriptions and just went there to get frames. The staff is very diligent, quick, are on top of all details and you can tell they are trying to make the experience as frictionless as possible. Miss Ashley advised on quite a few options with regards to the polarization and tint options for clip-ons we were getting on top of our glasses. The best part is not getting harassed to pick frames, which is what usually happens everywhere. An added value to their frames is that they can accommodate for sunglasses clip-ons, the ones that stick on magnetically and match the frame, and they have quite good options. They also take your current frames and set the new prescription lenses on them, that is something not everybody does. I will update this review once we get our glasses to wrap up our experience, but so far so good! read more

This place is awful. This year my son decided to transition from glasses to contacts. The whole process from beginning to end has been a compete NIGHTMARE. He went for the initial contact exam and was told the contacts were not in and had to be ordered. Once the contacts were in he had to go through an instructional appointment for them to show him how to put them in. My son did not get it right away seeing as this was his first time dealing with contacts. They only give 30 min for a contact instructional appointment. Karen came to the girl that was helping us and told her that it was taking to long and we had to come back stating "this was ridiculous" she is awful. Once my son knew this he felt pressured to get the contacts in his eyes but grew frustrated with the continued reminders that he could not take the contacts home if he couldn't put them in. Dr. Gloyd felt the need to come whisper in my ear that I was making him nervous. Which he doesn't know me or my child's relationship so it was no need for him to make that comment. My son was frustrated due to the girl helping us and Karen saying he couldn't get his contacts if he couldn't show her he can put them in and take them out. We ended up having to come back which meant I had to take off work again and he had to miss school again. We ended up practicing all week before his next appointment so that we would have no problems next time. He went and was able to get them in and out thankfully but Dr. Gloyd felt the need to tell my son I know your mom was making you nervous because I stayed out from this time which I think was very inappropriate and made my son uncomfortable. No he got them in because we had practiced all week. My son ended up going back 3 additional times due to astigmatism and each time they send him home with two different kinds of contacts to try. Which none of them worked there were 5 different brands he tried none of them worked. I called today 12/18/23 and spoke with the office manager Karen who was the rudest most unprofessional person I've ever encountered. She called me and stated in a very sarcastic manner she was told to call me because I was "frustrated" I told her about all the issues we encountered spread over months and 3 visits with 5 different brands of contacts and the issue still isn't resolved and how ridiculous that was. She then called me a liar and said we had not been there that many times and started looking through my child's chart telling me all the dates which I already knew. She also said he hadn't tried that many contacts. Which later she confirmed was at-least 5 different brands which is what I told her in the beginning. Why would I lie about what I have been through with this office. I then told her I would just call corporate and deal with it that way due to the unprofessionalism of this entire experience. She then asked me what unprofessionalism? And I explained how I don't understand why they haven't been able to get my son the correct contacts.. she then asked me what I wanted her to do. How about do your job? She then asked what problem is he having I asked her why she couldn't see that in her computer like she saw everything else? I told her the contacts are painful she then says well it doesn't matter if they are painful can he see? Are you kidding me?! And I asked her would she want to put painful contacts in her eyes but oh it doesn't matter because she can see? She was not helpful at all and was extremely rude. She didn't care about fixing the issue only about debating with me about what me and my child have been through with this joke of a clinic. I will be reaching out to the administrative offices about this matter. This is not okay that I was charged and my son never received contacts that worked for him, on top of the unprofessionalism of the staff here. I have missed so much work and my son has missed so much school to end up with no contacts still. Also Karen wanted to charge me another contact fee due to him having to go to additional appointments because they couldn't fit his contacts properly in a timely manner. Absolutely not. I have been coming to Berkeley Eye Center for 6 years and today was the worst experience I've had. My appointment was at 7:45AM! It is 8:55AM and I have not had my eye exam yet. The receptionist did not update any of my information so I had to fill out paper work when I arrived. At 8:56AM I finally seen the optometrists and luckily the exam went fairly quick and that's the only reason why I provided an increase to 4 stars instead of 2. I know this isn't BEC standard so I'll sweep this visit under the rug and continue to get treated here, but this was by far my worst visit. read more

I have entrusted Dr. Reid and the staff at Berkeley Eye Center with my eyes for quite a few years. I have always been very happy with them, but I'm even happier now that they're in a newer, better location! I recently visited Dr. Reid at the new location in Champions Village. It had been just a few years since I'd had my eyes checked, so I was a tad overdue for an exam. I love where they are now (in comparison to their previous location)! So much nicer and so much easier to access! Dr. Reid always does an excellent job examining my eyes. The exam is thorough and comprehensive. I'm never hassled because I don't want my eyes dilated (the dilating drug makes me sick). I'm never scammed for new glasses with minor changes in my prescription -- in fact, this time around I was told that I didn't have to get a new prescription filled UNLESS I wanted new frames -- which I did opt to purchase. The staff is great about helping you pick out frames that compliment your face, work with your prescription (yeah, no-line bifocals here) and stay within your budget. Records are easily accessed and referenced for coatings and colors for tints on the lenses. An easy visit! I've been to other eye care locations that hounded me to come in every year for an exam; when I did, my prescription mysteriously would change necessitating the need for a new glasses -- and new frames every single year. Once I started coming to Dr. Reid, that annual change of glasses and frames quit happening. You can BET that I'll continue coming to Dr. Reid and Berkeley Eye Center. I've been very happy here -- with exams, with the staff and with my glasses over the years. read more

Though I have seen multiple doctors at the Kingwood facility, who were all great, they recommended I go see Dr Choudhary at the Spring office for a perceived problem I was told she was more knowledgeable on, and one that if not addressed, could lead to more permanent negative results. That appointment was over a month ago, and one contingent on lab results from my primary, which I gave access to that day. Over 10 follow up calls have been conducted to see if I need new lab work and/or what my next steps are, with only one return from that office stating they didn't have the lab work, despite my primary also getting involved to send. The Kingwood office has also tried to reach them twice, only to leave voicemails. I honestly don't know if it's the office or the Dr and her staff that don't care enough to return calls, but either way, it's not an office I'd recommend. Kingwood, on the other hand, has been great. ... unfortunately, my eye issue is not resolved, and i'll need to find other sources, knowing time was not on my side, and they were aware. read more

Worst Eye doctor I've ever been in my life. I saw a young African-American Doctor and Not only did he rush through my exam but they diluted my eyes right before the exam so therefore I could not see a thing!! I kept on telling him during the exam that I could not see anything on the chart. All he said was "oh that's OK well just go with what you had last time" ( 3 years) !!!! Awful just awful!! And don't even get me started on that stuff!! read more

My review is a long time coming, so I thought I'd report what happened to me and my daughter. My daughter was only 12 or so at the time. Having had contacts for less than a year, we brought her in for a check up. The doctor at the time actually reached out, WITH NO WARNING, and poked his fingers in her eye and took out her contact!!! Instead of asking her to do it, he reached over and did it himself!!! Appalling!!!! My daughter started to cry. She was shocked and frightened from the incident, stunned and yes, it hurt. We told the staff, they said they mentioned ihow upset my daughter was. The staff felt bad, but no word from the doctor. We never went back, and now go up to the Tomball location which we love. read more

Not a family friendly eye center. Unable to schedule appointments for more than 2 people at a time in a family! Very inconvenient that I would have to take off 3 days from work in order to have myself and children seen! Originally went to the website and completed the form to set up an appointment and never received a call. Called the office and left a voicemail requesting for someone to call set up an appointment, I still never received a call. Very unacceptable service. I'll be sure to take my business elsewhere. read more
