Efficient and caring staff from beginning to end. Doctors take their time to check all areas of your sight both nowadays in the future.

There are more that just him seeing patients in the office which means all of them need the same special equipment which means some waiting. I'm sure your first thought is "buy more equipment". Sounds reasonable until you learn that each piece of equipment costs thousands of dollars. Now balance that with the small reimbursements your insurance pays for his time and expertise. I've learned if I want to be seen rather quickly schedule the first appointment in the morning and the first in the afternoon. There will still be competition for the use of the machines but the wait time will be shorter. Better yet bring a book and get caught up on some reading while you wait.

But there are certain things I won't tolerate and one of those is disrespect. Joel Cohen is not friendly at all, as a matter of fact, he's downright rude. I brought my elderly parents to get their glaucoma checked. He didn't even shake their hands, didn't ask, "How are you?". My father held out his hand to offer a handshake....no response. Joel Cohen completely ignored him. Joel Cohen, I don't care how many acronyms you have behind your name, you need to treat people with respect. You're not the only doctor out there. As a matter of fact, we found someone better already.

At the end of the appointment she walked us to the reception area, my father still had a few questions, as she walked away, she said to him, "I do not have time to keep answering your questions." I said, "Wow that was rude." And she says to the receptionist, "They can go back to their original provider." We have never been treated in this manner, we were taken back and confused as to why the doctor could not answers my dad's questions, as she is the doctor and he is her patient. We asked the receptionist not to request my dad's medical records, that we would not be returning to see Dr. Reem Z. Renno and that we would gladly return to the Mann Eye Institute where we have been treated with respect.

Reception was so friendly, Medical Assistant was so cordial asked how to pronounce my name correctly. Very nice. Needed preliminary tests and he was gentle...you know the puff in the eyes. Time to meet the MD. It was a long day for him as he was busy, end of the year and is older than hubs. I introduced myself because I wasn't sure he was going to. He was a most thorough MD and explained everything to me and wrote it down too because he knew my speech and cognitive skills where affected my Covid. I do not understand the negative reviews for 1960 Eye Surgeons. I was very satisfied with Dr. Cohen's professionalism, observation and diagnosis. Scheduled follow up for January 2nd.
