My best friend and I were on our yearly mom trip in the local area. We were looking for a place on…read morethe water and it had seafood. Pirates Cove met our needs and then some. When we arrived we found parking in the crowded lot. But, it was around 7pm so that worked out. Once we parked we walked inside. Its definitely decorated in a busy way, but totally made sense for the theme. We opted for outdoor seating and were seated immediately. Our server was amazing. She was always on the ball making sure our food came out, drinks were filled and we were basically taken care of. In fact every employee we encountered were great from hostess to server, to bar staff. I opted for the cream of crab soup and the Maryland crab soup doubled up together. I tell you, do it! It was so good! Best of both worlds hands down. Both of their soups were fantastic! We shared the green goddess avocado dip. It came with 6 chilled shrimp, naan dippers and the creamy dip. I highly recommend this appetizer especially on a hot day. The cheesy crab toast was a nice change from the typical crab dip. I opted for a crabcake, potato and seasoned vegetables. This was a great option for the day. My friend enjoyed salmon on top of a salad. We finished up with some sweets. They had a lovely lemon blueberry cake along with the fried dough with powder sugar. They were very light. . We loved all of our food. Seriously no complaints one bit. If your looking for a place to go and enjoy a good meal on the water and delicious food.. this is the spot.

The hostess seated us at a high-top table, but unfortunately, the table was very shaky. As we were getting settled, we also noticed that the music coming from the speaker directly above us was pretty loud. When our server came over, my wife asked if she could turn it down a little, and she was happy to do so. We ordered our drinks--my wife had iced tea and I had an Orange Crush which was very good. I asked about the crab cake prices and was told it was around $45 for the dinner, about $28 for the sandwich, and around $22 for the crab ball appetizer. When our server came back, my wife ordered the shrimp special. I wanted a BLT with a crab cake added, so I asked how much it would be to add one. I was surprised when she told me it would be $40 to add the crab cake, on top of the $17 BLT. At that price, I decided to order the BLT and the crab balls instead. I put two of the crab balls on my sandwich and we ate the other two separately. Overall, the food was good. My wife really enjoyed her grilled shrimp and rice. My BLT had a nice amount of bacon, but it had way too much lettuce and only one small slice of tomato. Once I removed some of the lettuce and added two of the crab balls to the sandwich, it was actually much better. The crab balls were good, but I still have a hard time understanding $40 to add a crab cake to a $17 BLT. I could see paying around $12 for a nice-sized crab cake added to a sandwich, but $40 seems extremely high. The best part of the experience was definitely the location. Sitting outside on the dock, enjoying the water and having dinner was very nice. Afterward, my wife and I walked out on the dock and watched the sunset. That's the kind of setting that makes you want to sit back and stay awhile.

We started with the tater tots topped with caviar and the broiled oysters char-grilled with Parmesan and garlic. The oysters were easily one of the highlights of the night absolutely delicious and definitely a do-over. For drinks, I had a strawberry lemon drop and an Old Fashioned, and both were excellent. We finished with the warm butter cake, which was the perfect ending to the meal. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance was just as impressive. Everything felt elevated without being stuffy. This is definitely a place I would come back to, and those oysters will be on my table again.

They were also very accommodating with the birthday celebration, which made the experience more special. I had actually been here before for Thanksgiving, but I didn't remember it being particularly memorable. This visit was definitely better, especially with the birthday celebration. I ordered the Maryland Crab Cakes, which were good, and we also shared the cauliflower steak, which was good as well. One thing to note: I would probably go straight for valet parking since the regular parking can be more expensive.

The crab egg rolls were bland and the crab cakes, once a standout for me, just did not have the flavor I remember. Service was also very slow. On a quiet Sunday with just five of us dining, it took about 20 minutes to receive our drinks. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was instead directed to a supervisor who spent more time explaining the situation than actually acknowledging our concerns or offering an apology. To make matters worse, a credit card service fee was automatically added even though we paid in cash and had to ask for it to be removed. After more than 30 years of visiting, this experience was especially disappointing. At this point, I do not plan on returning.

Place: it has more of a casual feeling with some ambience. Feels comfortable with wooden furnitures. Service: I believe we had Micah who was just exceptional- very personable and gave us the perfect recommendations. Fast and prompt service. Food: every dish we ordered was amazing. Cobb salad was really great- but the bacon on top was theee best bacon I've ever had. I've been content with just that order. Amazing oysters- fresh and condiments went very well. Now steak was Cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Now-- I am not a "bread lover" but Micah said the place was known for its biscuit (they charge for it and I would too if it's this good). Told him about my lukewarm love for the bread and he said "I would order it for educational purposes". I like education , especially this kind of education so I did- and yes, it is true. It was theee highlight of the night. Oh it's special. Crispy- and buttery almost like half croissant and half biscuit. The jam and pimemto cheese just out of this world. We actually came home and researched the recipe of "wanna be- st. Anselm biscuit" Definitely one of the best educational experience I've had. Price: I thought it was reasonable. Great portion of food that's why. St. Anselm - thank you and we shall make some excuse to come back to DC to come here again.

The pancakes were perfectly fluffy and a nice treat for the table. The breakfast potatoes were so crispy it was genuinely a marvel. The brunch fare other than that was quite standard, and solid. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. That said, there were a few things I would love to see. The coffee/tea menu wasn't quite too extensive for a brunch spot (would have loved more non-coffee drinks). There are also some upcharges to be aware of not on the menu (like cheese in eggs), which is not all too uncommon for brunch but still something to note!

It's just like the bare minimum of things that they could do to improve the service at this restaurant and unfortunately, it just never happens. As other guests have mentioned, the service at this restaurant is quite terrible. We are paying $67 a person and barely get someone to refill our water. My husband kept going up to get a clean plate himself (something that the servers used to do ) while we see two of our alleged servers standing by talking to each other. I'm sorry, but if they have time to chitchat, then they probably have time to help the guests. We were there on a Saturday night and I just can't understand the indifference of the servers. We have probably been to this location about a dozen times and the service just keeps getting worse and worse. Now we are at the point where we're wondering why we would ever come back. I ordered a glass of wine and of course had to remind them to bring it, and the server looked at me curiously like oh right I forgot about that. ???Throughout the service there were at least three or four different people who helped us and I have no idea who actually was our main server. The gauchos repeatedly passed us by. I don't really understand the method to how they go to the tables. Also, all they kept coming by was with chicken, chicken and more chicken. Very minimal beef options. I understand inflation is out of control, but guess what you keep raising costs. So maybe stay on par with what you're charging and what you're offering. The biggest stressor of the night was trying to get the heck out of here. I am part of the rewards program and we were there to use one of our rewards, which I told one of the four servers and apparently he had no idea what I was talking about now this goes back to paragraph one. If you have a rewards program, shouldn't that be something that the servers are trained on? So anyway they ran my bill without the reward and then had to get a manager involved to figure it out. But this time it took about 30 minutes just to close my tab. Mind you the waiter had the audacity to ask me to close it out quickly because he was going to be switched to a different area. Now, dude, I would love to if somebody would help me!! Like um, you? It took me at least 15 min to even flag someone down. We will not be back to this location. Maybe we'll try a different Fogo, but we have just about had it with this one. It is not a pleasant experience when yes, you are paying a flat rate, but it doesn't mean you should sacrifice service.

He came here for a restaurant week birthday treat for one of my friends. Michaels is located on eastern Avenue. They have their own small lot and you can probably find decent street parking close by as well. When you walk in the first thing you will notice is the wood panel on all of the wall walls. Reminded me of my parent's basement when I was growing up. Looks like the restaurant has remained unchanged as far as its original designs from when it first opened 40+ years ago. There was a very nice waitress working by the name of Brooke. It appears that she was the only waitress working on a Saturday afternoon. There was one bartender. So if you are in a rush, do not expect the fastest service. But Brooke was great very friendly and was willing to answer any question about menu items that we had. She brought out some bread and took our drink orders. I had a Stella in later ordered a old-fashioned. The old-fashioned was very good. Not too sweet and a generous amount of bourbon. They do not have the large single cubes of ice so it was traditional, crushed ice. But it was strong enough that it was not watered down as the ice melted. For my meal, I had a New York strip steak with a crab cake. Also had a cup of cream of crab soup and a slice of cheesecake. This was only the restaurant we menu for $55. Crab soup was delicious delicious. It had a good flavor and you could taste the chunks of real crab meat. The crabcake was OK, it had a generous amount of jumbo lump crab meat, but it was a little on the bland side. The New York strip steak was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly medium. Warm pink center and a delightful char to the exterior. Did not need any additional seasoning or steak sauce. The sides were so so. I just had a baked potato. It was nothing fancy, just a plain baked potato with a dollop of sour cream. Overall, a solid place. It appears the locals enjoy it because the bar packed with people who all knew each other and it seems like they come quite frequently. The menu has some pretty good weekend specials. I wouldn't mind coming back again.
