Specialties
The Resting Bitch Place is a creative studio and community space where making things is the whole point—but there’s no pressure to be “good” at it. We offer hands-on craft workshops, open studio time, and a curated mix of supplies and handmade goods. Come start something new, pick back up an abandoned hobby, or just have a place to sit and create for a while.
History
Established in 2026.
The RBP was years in the making—literally. It lived as an ever-evolving Google Doc full of ideas, sketches, and "maybe someday" plans. After months of furloughs and multiple job cuts in the last year, I decided to stop waiting for the "right" moment and take the leap.
I wanted to create the kind of place I wished existed: somewhere people could slow down, put their phones away, make something with their hands, and remember what it feels like to simply exist without needing to be productive.
Along the way, I noticed something else: a bunch of overachieving millennials—who feel like they have to be perfect at everything—had the most fun when they sat around a table, yapped, tried something new, and occasionally made something objectively terrible. Those nights were full of laughter, connection, and reminders that creativity isn't about being good at something—it's about giving yourself permission to play.
It felt like exactly the kind of space our community needed, so I built it.
Meet the Business Owner: Amanda H.
Hi, I'm Amanda—the founder of The Resting Bitch Place.
I'm a systems engineer by day, lifelong maker, and firm believer that creativity is for everyone. I know firsthand that making something with your hands can be incredibly healing, whether you're celebrating, grieving, stressed, or simply looking for connection.
I created The RBP because I wanted a place where people could slow down, laugh, vent, meet new friends, and remember that you don't have to be "artistic" to make something meaningful.
Around here, perfection isn't the goal. Showing up is.
So grab a project (or borrow supplies from ours), bring a friend—or come solo—and stay awhile. We'll save you a seat.
