If I recall correctly, Artsy Partsy started off in a home then went to Glen Burnie Mall and finally…read morelanding in the Pasadena location. The Pasadena location is in a shopping center with plenty of parking and easily accessible. Once inside the studio, it's beautifully decorated with art samples, shelves of take home art kits, and other goodies. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The studio has many different rooms depending on what workshop is happening at that time. They host classes and events such as (but not limited to) open studio, special events which focus on a theme or specific art, home school, sewing, and digital art. My daughter has visited Artsy Partsy many times throughout the years and each time she comes home with amazing art to showcase. She has been to a few summer camps, individual workshops as well as private sessions. My daughter's school hosted a paint night with Artsy Partsy which turned out to be a hit. Additionally, my daughter's girl scout troop joined Artsy Partsy's 1.5 hour drawing event which covers all the requirements for Juniors to earn the Girl Scout's Drawing Badge. My daughter really enjoys creating art and has gained many skills from Artsy Partsy. Our family will continue refer them to family and friends as well as continue to attend any workshops they host!

I am very disappointed with my experience and would not recommend this business…read more I enrolled my two daughters in a camp, but about a month before the camp started, I called the office to cancel our registration. During that phone call, I was told that if the camp spots were refilled, I would receive a full refund. If the spots were not refilled, I was told I would receive a 75% credit. I was also told that someone would follow up with me by email regarding the status. A month passed, and I never received any follow-up communication. Instead, I received an email reminding me that my daughters were still enrolled in the camp. When I called the office, I was informed that I would not receive either a refund or a credit. The staff member said she would speak with the owner and let her know what had happened. I asked to speak directly with the owner, but I was told she did not know when the owner would be available to contact me. Later that day, instead of receiving a phone call, I received a text message from the owner, Jeanette Fonseca, stating that they would not be providing a refund or credit because of their Terms and Conditions. I was never given the opportunity to explain that I had relied on the information provided by their staff and genuinely believed would receive at least the 75% credit I had been promised. This was especially frustrating because we had previously enrolled in one of their programs, and when they canceled a class at the last minute, we also did not receive a refund or credit. My biggest concern is not just the outcome, but the lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism. If staff members provide inaccurate information, customers should not be penalized for relying on it. I expected much better customer service, especially when attempting to resolve the issue respectfully. Unfortunately, based on these experiences, I cannot recommend this business.

Mary Poppins has landed in Crofton and her name is Mrs. Sing!…read more Denise Singh, affectionately and aptly known as "Mrs. Sing" around these parts, is the owner of Mrs. Sing's Kidsmusicart. Classes are offered in Bowie, Crofton, College Park, and Alexandria. The Crofton Center opened just last year in an office building that's adjacent to the pond where the snakehead fish was found a few years ago (remember that?). The program occupies two immaculately-clean suites which Mrs. Sing has divided into three classrooms, a snack/play area, and a waiting area. There are also two spotless bathrooms. Mrs. Sing and her staff's commitment to children is evident from the moment that you walk into the Center. Students' artwork is prominently displayed, and there are volumes of scrapbooks filled with pictures of former and current students. The Center is stocked with high-quality instruments, toys, games, and art supplies. The Center offers parent-child classes as well as independent classes. Chickadee (age 3) has been enrolled in both types of classes and has enjoyed them. The age range for the various classes is infant through teenager. Most recently, Chickadee was enrolled in "Arts in the A.M." (ages 3-4.5) which includes music, art, and movement classes. The curriculum is as thorough as any preschool program, and the teachers are all highly trained and have wonderful interactions with the children. There is a theme for each week and an overall theme for the course (15 weeks [which can be pro-rated as well]). As a part of this course, the children take a break mid-morning and have a parent-provided snack. Chickadee felt so grown up taking a lunch box to her "program." I have to admit, it is adorable to see all of those little munchkins together! Most classes include at-home materials as well. In the past, these have included instruments, books, and/or audio CDs. We've tried several parent-child classes around the area, but I've been most impressed with Mrs. Sing's Kidsmusicart program. The staff, facility, and curricula are all top-notch.
