We ended up at El Mangu for breakfast after striking out at a Cuban bakery that wasn't set up for dining in--and it turned out to be the better move. From the start, the welcome was warm and genuine, with prompt, attentive service. The space itself is simple and cozy--no unnecessary frills, just what you need, which fits the experience perfectly. We ordered the cuatro golpes, and it delivered. As a Boricua who's spent plenty of time around Dominican food, I can say this felt authentic--like sitting in a friend's kitchen rather than a restaurant. That's not something you come across often. Before leaving, I took a look at the board with their lunch and dinner offerings--chivo, oxtail, red snapper, sancocho. That alone was enough to guarantee I'll be back next time I'm in Miami. read more

I've visited here a few times and have never left dissatisfied or disappointed. Great portions on the food and great flavor. Visited here on a Saturday and was immediately able to sit and enjoy. Service was fast, friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious. Oxtail is usually available on Saturday and came with a great portion of white rice, red beans and a side tostones.. it was enough for 2 people. When in Hialeah, I do my best to come here because it's a great spot. read more

These people are the real deal! When you walk in they got salsa y merengue music playing. I saw chivo (stewed goat) on the menu and said let me get that! It was great. Reminded me of a chivo I tried in a Dominican home. Definitely coming back for the ox tail though. A true hidden gem. read more

We found this place on google while trying to find somewhere close to eat! Great service and very attentive guys! Little hole in the wall with amazing Dominican food! Highly recommend this spot if you are looking for an authentic Dominican experience. My daughter had their chicken tenders and you can tell that they were freshly made in house! Nothing frozen! Their sandwiches were so delicious, big and loaded! My husband had the bistec sandwich and I had the ham and cheese one and they came loaded with veggies (onions, lettuce, and tomatoes) they come with a side of fries and the kids nuggets do too and we tried their rice and beans it was very flavorful as well. Everything was just amazing. Their quipes though! True star of the show!!! Delicious and big! And so much flavor in every bite! drooling while typing by lol. Their arepitas de yuca were just like my mom makes them! Sooo good! My daughter wanted more lol. You must try this place! Can't say it enough haha read more

Good Dominican restaurant serving a variety of savory plates. Good prices and serving huge portions. I was told the Dominican staple " mangu " was the best in this place, so I had to go see for myself. ( Mangu is mashed green plantains and topped with pickled red onions). I decided to go for breakfast and grab the mangu con longaniza Frita ( type of sausage), fried eggs, and fried cheese. ( a lot of calories ) lol. Well worth it. So many different textures and flavors and they all work perfectly. The lady was nice and helpful and had a bright smile on her face. She gave me Great service! read more

This Dominican restaurant serves delicious food! We ordered breakfast with fried salami, sausage, two sunny side up eggs, mofongo, and avocado. He ordered a sprite and I drank water. It came out to be less than $30. The price is great and food is wonderful! The chef greeted us and the place gets busy as people come in and out often. They even have nice R&B Latin music playing like Ozuna, Anuel, etc. The staff is plentiful and service is attentive. read more

Mangú Café Restaurant - Mango, con salami, y huevo. - Dominican Near Me - Hialeah, Florida

We visited this location yesterday 11/26/23 around 5 pm. We googled Dominican restaurant near us and chose them since they had good reviews and were close to our destination. We ordered some appetizers (quipe) and the gentleman man that served us didn't even put small plates for us to use to eat appetizer. We ordered 4 plates. We ordered the kids what they always get in any dominican restaurant pollo, the kids were like what is this? I believe they put too much breading on the chicken and it came out hard and we had to peal it off basically to get to the actual chicken. They probably ate 2 pieces of each chicken on each platter since they did not like it at all. We ordered beers and were hot, we didn't say anything because we were just hungry and it was hot inside so we just wanted to ear and leave. Maybe its because it was close to closing hours since they close at 6pm but i was disappointed with the food and service. When we ordered the bill surprisingly it was expensive since they ad their own gratuity. That server only came to my table maybe 4 times to get $20.00 tip for nothing. You can see on pictures how this came out. Im dominican and they can do a way better service for their customers. read more

The minute you walk in you know its going to be bomb Dominican food. I felt right at home you could tell by the smirk on my face. I saw the Dominican people eating, the Country Club and Presidente in the fridge. The music, my beautiful flag, and that accent. Then the food came! And thats it! I was a fan 100%. So good I went back 3 days later. That meat is so tender. Those quipes are so good. I was not crazy about the yuca empanadas which is one of my favorites things and I was hoping they had pastel en hoja. The mangu though with the 3 golpes is by far the best thing! read more

I've had this place bookmarked for awhile. I think I may have learned about it from a tv show called Check Please! The luncheon menu is extensive with all kinds of interesting dishes. They also have a special menu of the day. We enjoyed lemon chicken with red beans and Mangú. It was all delicious! I've never had Mangú before and I really enjoyed it. It had a texture more like Mashed potatoes than typical mofongo and was served with sautéed red onions on the top. Definitely a dish you can share with someone. My husband ordered mofongo with pork strips both were delish! Again, they serve large lunch portions so come hungry or plan to take some home. The service was very good and the staff is always busy prepping and preparing items for service. read more

I ordered the special, which was the chivo, thought it was over priced at around $24, with only 1 side, and was nothing out of this world. The mangu was pretty good and at a good price with 2 sides for about $10. Automatic 18% tip included. Guess I was expecting more based on how high their reviews are but found it very average. read more

I really recommend the food. I got chicken breast lemon sauce with steamed vegetables and 4 golpes plate without fried egg. I decided to give them 3 stars because I got the worst customer service. We wait around 15min to received the menus. We got them because I went to ask for them. After, we finished I went to ask for a go-to plates. One of the server told me "I'm not assigned to your table". I was shocked. I was asking myself WHERE IS THE TEAMWORK IN THIS PLACE. I really recommend the owner of this place to spent some time/money to have some CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS TO THEIR TEAM. read more

Food here is excellent! Like eating at grandmas, home cooking! Service at pretty good, but slow at times. But the food is worth the wait.

OMG Mangu for days!!! This small little gem is truly a mouth watering treasure. I tried to look through the whole menu but kept coming back to page one. I absolutely Love mangu, so when my sister and law was like," I know this Dominican place"....that's all she had to say. I'm not familiar with this area so I definitely had to use navigation but it winded up being super easy. On the outside the restaurant has pictures of the food on their actual windows so that just draws you in period! Once inside a little counter/bar equipped with the Dominican flag. They have a good size set up with just the right about of tables and booths. They have one flat screen but its perfectly centered so everyone can catch the latest. They also have 2 blackboard showing specials of the day and their most popular dishes. We all ordered the traditional mangu breakfast(sis in law copt out of the eggs though). The dish was perfect. The sausage the fried cheese the onions and of course the mangu. Everything just completed eachother and all the plates looked as if they had been practically licked clean. We weren't playing. So hell yeah I'd come back to this place. I would love to try a different menu item but their mangu has me hooked!!! read more

For a place in Miami I felt like I was in DR enjoying a home cooked meal. The coffee is good, the food was phenomenal, and the customer was amazing. I walked in and was seated right away, they brought me bread took my order and handed me some of the best coffee and orange juice. My food came out a few minutes later and I will say I enjoyed every bite. When I visit Miami again, I will be back for some more good food. read more
