Carne con papa, tostones, y arroz moro

The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very good that I couldn't finish everything on my plate and had to take some of it to go. Server was friendly although not always readily available and we had to often reach out to the other workers for assistance.

This is the second time I have come here. Today I ordered the fried pork with fries and salad. My review is still a three stars. The salad was too vinegary, I would have preferred to have dressed it myself. The fries were a little dry. The portions are generous. The pork chunks were huge and plentiful.

Amazing selection of Cuban Latin food, had a Cuban sandwich and it was great. Service is good and attentive. From what I understand this is the Latin cafe that was in the gables son's restaurant. That made the famous sandwiches in the 90's on coral way.

Trying to do so much in Miami Beach and elsewhere, we really didn't get our fill of Cuban food to be honest- but we tried to squeeze one more Cuban spot. Aside from the good dose of Cuban food we had in Versailles, hubs missed his chance there to get a Sánguche Cubano. Since Cafeteria was on our way up to Southwest Florida Airport, hubs took another crack at getting a Sánguche Cubano in this Hialeah spot. Greeting was straight to the point- but nice and seating was a no-brainer. Instead of butter on the Complimentary toasted bread, these 'Pan Tostado Con Mantequilla', had globs of unmelted margarine, which hubs didn't even touch. Menu isn't complicated and has a good amount of stuff to choose from. I went with white rice, Black Beans and an Enchilado de Pescado y Camarones (Stewed Fish and Shrimp), while hubs had the Sánguche Cubano. For one, the fish in my dish was chunky and very good as well as the sauce. But the baby shrimp, didn't give the dish any substance and tasted off. Second, hubs' Cuban Sandwich lacked those infamous, 'Cuban Sandwich' fixings. I don't eat meat- much less pork...but I can still brag a bit about the low grade ham used here. Bread wasn't toasty or flattened and the pork was sliced thick and so much of it. Hubs loves pork- but left most of it behind. Plus the sandwich just smell porky...ewww! Listen...nothing against strip mall eateries because we've all been to very nice ones. But Cafeteria is a sad example of strip mall food gone bad.

Usually coming to this place you may not know about it unless you have family or friends that have been coming here for years. Located next to an ihop you have great Latin food. The family owned restaurant really makes you feel like family. Inside: not the best looking but still clean. It's a little small too but you will fit. I reccomend maybe 4 people as a group. You are brought fresh toasted Cuban buttered bread while you wait. On the tables they each have a handsanitizer and napkins. Food: perfect portion size, juicy and cooked to order. The chicken they use is the dark meat which makes it juicy but it's already filleted. You get 2 sides and the chicken entree also comes with fried plantain chips. Overall great place, great employees

Tremendo calor los clientes quejandose y la manager yosimil dijo q no se podia bajar. Q lazaros el dueño las vigila por las camara desde la casa. Los vasos plastico del agua todo mordidos desgastados adjunto fotos. El aire en 80 grado.

This Cafe was recommended by a local resident as a place to get a Cubana sandwich & this place does not disappoint!! Mom & Pop type joint which is exactly what you are hoping for with Cuban food! The sandwich was fresh, hot & delicious! The only challenge is there was a large language barrier. If you speak only English you're in trouble! Locally there was a really nice Cuban gentleman sitting nearby who acted as my translator. I will definitely return if in the area again!

Ok. So this place starts you out with a basket of buttered, toasted, Cuban bread and mariquitas. It was really good. I ordered the chicken steak with rice and salad. My buddy ordered a breaded steak with moro. The food was really good. I would recommend this place and will def come back myself. The only downside was the service. I ordered something I never got and the waitress didn't really come by to check on us very much. Once I'm done with me meal, I like to pay and head out, we were waiting for a while.

It's a classic Cuban thinly sliced steak, marinated in a special mojo sauce and seared to perfection. The generous topping of roasted onions is the soul of the dish; be sure to eat it with the steak--the savory, tender flavor is incredibly satisfying! Seafood Lobster This steaming hot dish is a seafood feast! Its vibrant color is immediately appealing. It's packed with ingredients: large shrimp, sweet clams, and plump mussels. The rice absorbs the seafood's umami flavor, turning an enticing golden color. Service is ok waitress was friendly but doing their job for the company to max out their profits. Ambiance is what you expect of all the south beach locations seemingly an extension of Havana if you been there. I would rank as 4 stars for the food but downgrade because they added a lot of random stuff to the menu just to get those who dont know real cuban food to eat there such as burgers and pasta lol. It would get 5 stars if they were authentic trying to offer strictly cuban only and reasonably priced. Because they take advantage of tourist and are here just for the money I lowered it to 3.

Our favorite time to visit is Sunday brunch, especially since they have a special menu. We recently came for Father's Day, and even though Julio was celebrating as a father himself, he was working incredibly hard to make sure every guest had a great experience. You can really see how much heart and dedication he pours into his business. As expected on Father's Day, there was a bit of a wait, especially since we were a larger party, but none of us minded. To thank us for our patience, Julio generously brought out croquetas for the table on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I can't recommend Trigo Café enough. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere feels like home. While brunch is our favorite, their lunch and dinner are just as great, and the new tapas and wine area they recently added is a fantastic addition. If you haven't been, you're missing out!

Great music and friendly staff. What we ordered- Croquetas 10/10 - Soft creamy inside and lightly crispy on the outside. Drizzled with a aioli style sauce. (In my opinion)the croquetas were so good they didn't need any sauce. Churassco w/ white rice, black beans and plantains 10/10 ohh this is everything a churassco should be. Juicy, tender and cooked full of so much flavor. The rice was perfect not sticky just perfectly fluffy and not oily and the beans are exactly what I always hope to be served at any Cuban restaurant. Absolutely delicious and full of so much flavor. I mean if they told me Abuela had made them I would totally believe it. Chefs kiss The hubs ordered the Picanha with morro rice and plantains 10/10 No crumbs or grains of rice was left on his plate! Absolutely delicious Needless to say this place is an absolute must! I came by their new location in Westland Mall today since I was shopping and I was hungry. However,…read morewith slow service and nickel and diming (18 percent automatic tip) and smallish portions I don't think I'll be back. Having had a quick workday lunch and walked around the mall, I had worked up an appetite. I was seated in a corner table for two and my order was taken. The restaurant did not seem that crowded even for a Friday night but it felt like a long wait. Unlike many Cuban places, they don't offer complimentary bread. I ordered their "platanos a tentacion" (bacon wrapped sweet plantains), grilled chicken and moros. The rice was a little hard and the chicken breast on the small side and barely seasoned other than the onions garnishing it. Service didn't feel very attentive for me as a solo diner. Between finishing my dinner and waiting to order either dessert or cafecito, I also sat and waited until a waitress finally came by. At that point, I just got the coffee and my check. I don't believe I was offered a printed receipt, just the card terminal. I asked if the tip was included and pretty much in time when I was putting the usual tip (trying to be generous with 20 percent) I was told that it was a service charge, and that the tip was extra, but had full amounts starting with 18%. So basically I paid 30% tip for a small portion of food and inattentive service. Looking back, I see that this restaurant had a different name and I had enjoyed dinner at their other location six years back. It's disappointing to see how it has fallen off. As it were, a lot of the original creative items on the menu are no longer being offered.
