I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed their lunch specials which is pollo guisado, arroz moro and sweet plantain. It is always tasty and well priced. Their pernil and carne guisada is also very delicious. I tried their tres golpes for breakfast the other day and it will also very good. Their fried cheese and salami is their star items on the plate, the green plantain and onions brings the whole dish together. I also tried their morir soñando which is one of the tastiest things I have ever tried. It is orange juice and milk which sounds like a very weird combination but it is a fabulous combination. Full of flavor, and gravy. The shrimp was incredible. The plantine was full of shrimp flavor and shaped like a basket topped with more shrimp and white sauce. The pork was the same . I was pregnant at the time and throwing up like crazy. Living in Flushing, my chances of getting a good sopita de pollo were slim considering the closest thing I could get was ramen. I ordered from so many spots and Mangu Grill was the only restaurant that stayed consisted. This place is honestly a hit or miss. I'm Dominican so I know what authentic food tastes like. The food has actually gotten way better in the past couple of years from when they first opened, especially when you eat it there. But their delivery needs work! Every time I order from here my food arrives disheveled & cold as if it was just sitting out. I recently ordered the bistec encebollado & I got a slab of greasy, undercooked steak. The aluminum containers were crushed & everything seemed like it was just thrown in the bag. Idk maybe they were having an off day. They also tend to run out of popular items like the pollo al horno & pernil. My mom likes their pollo but I find it to be kind of dry. Their portions are ridiculously small. Dominican restaurants in corona give way more food for a better price. Delivery is pretty fast & the servers are nice but they are overpriced for the amount of food that they're giving. read more

Tres golpe it came with the mangu that was so tasteless, two little piece of salami, an egg that wasn't runny, and they must have had a cheese shortage because got two little finger stick of Spanish cheese, but the empanadas WOW. They where good. I honestly don't think I'll be going back to this location. I'll maybe hit the one in Jamaica and see how that one goes. I usually just get the rice and beans and some sauce on the side. Now I was enjoying my meal and took one last bite of my empanada and as it was almost done I felt something hard in my mouth. Came here a bunch of times with some co-workers. There is a good amount of tables and at least during lunchtime hours, I've never had to wait for a table. I'm no expert on Dominican food but I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to good food......and this place has some pretty good food. It is nothing fancy and is definitely a working man's (or woman's) type of spot. Their prices are very reasonable and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wait/counter staff is very pleasant and courteous and the portions are filling. Some of my favorites are the Dominican soup (which they make a few days a week) and the mofongo is off the charts good. If you're into Spanish style food, I would definitely recommend stopping by and grabbing a meal here if you're in the neighborhood.......you won't be disappointed. read more
