I'm generally not one for probiotic drinks but when I saw one item in named on a sign in bold print, I walked over. Having a number of errands that weekend and likely not having many meals at home that week, I told them that I'd be by the following week and confirmed they'd be there. I stopped here the following and picked up a bottle of their gazpacho (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=Jpy1BxZfvSZTSVbBjziktg). When I read the ingredients list (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=bTqKe5mzQFof6nrC57sFPA), it made me feel even better about getting this. I noticed the best by date on the jar and had this to accompany my dinner about a week later. It was delicious and the crunchy veggies gave this a texture that I don't normally find in other versions of this. It was also not overly acidic and tart. I will stop by this stand this morning and likely get another gazpacho while exploring their other offerings.

Unlike regular juice, La Vie's beverages also contain probiotics to improve gut health while cleansing your system. New to juicing, I decided to try the fruit-forward beverages. At their farmer's market booth, one of the team members walked me through the beverage offerings, and I sampled a couple based on flavor profile and health benefit. I ended up purchasing the Tropical Kefir and Blood Probiotic Yogi Tonics, since both are designed to promote gut health and tasted sweet and refreshing. The juices were on the pricey side - each juice cost $12 - but each bottle contains about two servings. I imagine that a full juice cleanse would be quite expensive, but hopefully I can enjoy these on occasion to keep my gut healthy. I'm also interested in trying their coconut kefir and yogurt products.

The one in Monterey had closed down a while ago and I had never been to the one in Salinas so it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. I was on day 3 of a 10 day challenge enhanced way of eating so the "Moss Boss" was off my target site(for now). The AMAZING Manager Elizabeth(hope I remembered) was Super Pleasant and kind for this Very energetic and inquisitive monkey. So patient and informative with ALLLL my questions, and to boot, She makes the best smoothies. I have been making them(smoothes) for 20 years(since before I was born) so I am SUPER picky and have Highhhh standards.... She adjusted my Masterpiece(again smoothie) to a tee; fine tuning to complement my lifestyle choices.. PLUSSS as a BONUS she gave me the Golden Mylk Base(Divine) because this is the protocol if they use it in the making of your smoothie. Super Bonus, and Cost effective, because it saves you a few dollars to TIP/laundry if needed/get a bagel/donut/ whatever because this lil shopping center has so many options.. Yet, it is a MUST to experience ELIZABETHS skills because the SUPER DUPER bonus is there will be a Perfectly Pressed opening in Monterey in Dec(fingers crossed), with her MAGIC going with her!! I pray she is Over appreciated for the standards she lives and practices. Oh yes, I forgot to mention, She created the seasonal MYLK juices, What?? Mind Blown done... What a Gem...#overpayher.com PS I have been 3 days in a row so it wasn't a fluke... PSS Yes It's me again, didn't realize it was on another account... Grrr So I posted it on the one I use..

Still really good, don't doubt, but I don't quite think it lived up to the hype. I also wish they…read morehad different sizes to offer, instead of only one size available.

Everything looks beautiful with lots of things for young ones to do : herb garden (you can smell different herbs and talk about them), playground, big chairs that kids LOVE to climb on, berry garden where kids can pick a couple of raspberries or blackberries. Their smoothies are great (my fav - berry roll up), food is good too. There's a salad bar if that's your thing. Everything is fresh and delicious. It's one of my favorite to go spots in the area. I ordered the chicken sandwich on their very delicious homemade brioche bun, along with a molasses cookie and a farm stand cookie. Everything was delicious. There always seemed to be a line, so plan accordingly. I arrived at 10:52 hoping to grab a breakfast burrito, but didn't make it to the front of the line until after 11. Even though I could still see breakfast items coming out of the kitchen, there is a firm cutoff. So, if you're arriving close to the transition time, don't count on squeezing in a breakfast order. And to the person who was in front of me in line and ordered the last piece of zucchini bread: consider yourself lucky you weren't tackled from behind. ;-) The stand itself has a little bit of everything: pick-your-own flowers, a grocery store, deli, salad bar, educational walks and talks, and plenty of space for families. It's definitely family-friendly, and while the kids can run a little rampant, the size and atmosphere of the place make it feel more lively than chaotic. One suggestion for the shop is to have a separate line for grocery purchases. After eating, I wanted to do some shopping, but decided I wasn't going to wait another 15 minutes in the food line just to buy a few items. A separate checkout would make the whole experience even better. All in all, it's a very good stop! It's also a dog-friendly facility, so please make sure your dogs are friendly too. During my visit, a couple had two bullmastiffs which are beautiful and big dogs, but unfortunately, those two were having a difficult time around other dogs. Whenever another dog came into view, they would bark aggressively and try to go after them. Since they were tethered to the table, the dog's frustration spilled over and they'd "jaw" at each-other. Having been raised with dogs in the house, I'm a big believer that bringing a dog into a public space comes with the responsibility of making sure those dogs are comfortable and well-socialized enough to handle the environment. In this case, the dogs were overwhelmed, and it made the experience less comfortable for the other dogs, their owners, and everyone in the yard. I certainly don't expect every dog to be perfect, but if a dog is repeatedly reacting aggressively to other dogs, it may be better for everyone to take a break from the public setting. After all, dog-friendly works best when the dogs are friendly too. To dog owners -- please be mindful of how your dogs are behaving in a shared public space. Correcting your dog when necessary is completely understandable, because sometimes a quick reminder is all they need. But if your dog requires ongoing training, discipline, or repeated correction to manage their behavior around other dogs, that's probably better handled in a setting specifically suited for training. Don't let one difficult situation take away from the experience of everyone else including well behaved dogs. And to the shop -- it's okay to step in when necessary. If a dog is repeatedly creating an uncomfortable or unsafe environment for others, asking the owners to remove the dog from the public area is a reasonable thing to do. It helps keep the venue enjoyable for everyone, including the dogs who are behaving themselves.
