It's a refreshingly modern cafe offering casual but carefully curated and well-executed cuisine in an unexpected location just off New Mexico Route 4 between Santa Fe and the park. My mouth was watering to try their well-known Cuban panini sandwich, especially with its tasty garlic roasted pork loin and honey ham. It's also a great story reflecting the owner's Spanish and Cuban roots. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out the panini sandwiches are pre-made. Since they can't modify them for dietary restrictions, I had to pass on the Cuban to avoid the cheese.. and the rumbly stomach that would follow.. Instead, both my dining companion and I opted for the daily lunch box special ($14). On the Tuesday we stopped in, the daily special was a chicken salad sandwich served on a croissant, which came with potato chips, a cookie, and a drink.
