Love mangos? This is the place to go to! This place is located in the upstairs part of the plaza. It has a cutesy, clean, and simple theme inside of it which I love. They have so many dessert options they offer here. I've been here twice and I was never disappointed with my options. I tried the mango special with the pomelo and it was sooo good. It seems to be in a some sort of mango "soup" with a scoop of mango ice cream, small clear tapioca and pomelo and mango bits. I loved how the fresh mango bits were sweet and reminded me of the Philippine mango. I also tried the Ube soup with sago. The durian however is a whole different ball game. First of all, if you have never had durian, I wouldn't recommend trying it here for the first time. You don't really get the true decadent flavor of durian. But for someone who is a fanatic of durian, I give it two thumbs up! I think I have found my favorite tea place in China town. I have tried so many places in China town and this one is definitely the best. They take a little longer but it is so worth it. Super cute spot! First thing that stood out was the asthetic was very light and energetic. I loved the wall lighting and the color of the walls. We got the Green Tea Millie Crepe and the Mango Juice with Lychee and Sago. Both were great, but I preferree the Green Tea Millie Crepe. The tecture was creamy and smooth, but also fluffy and not overly sweet. It reminded me a lot of tiramisu. The green tea flavor was there, but not over powering. I would definitely order this again. The Mango Juice with Lychee was fruity and refreshing. It was almost comparable to a fruit smoothie. The lychee with it was great. This place was a little hard to find, but once my boyfriend and I found it I squealed from how cute it was! The whole shop is painted my favorite color of Tiffany blue-ish hues and has really cute decor. It was also very clean and the ladies at the front were very friendly and welcoming. There was plenty of seating the day we went (it was sometime Friday afternoon). The heater was running and it was so nice to come in away from the 40 degree weather. The menu is extensive and it took me forever to decide on one thing (only chose 1 because we had to keep our appetites for a dinner later). We ended up choosing one of the sundaes with lychee and strawberries. OMG. It was so yummy, I definitely ate most of it (after taking a billion pictures of it). The strawberries were the teeniest but tart for my liking but the mangos were really sweet and the jellies that came with it were very good as well. I wish I could say more but only having 1 dessert keeps me limited. Guess that means I'll have to come back and try more (which I'm sure will definitely be worth it!). Mango Mango is a fairly small store that feels somewhat isolated from the rest of Chinatown-- mainly because it's on the second floor of the shopping plaza. You'll find plenty of cute seating arrangements throughout the store. Service is friendly here, and we were greeted by the cashier as we walked in. The menu felt a little overwhelming to me, especially because all the dishes looked the same (mango, mango, ...and more mango). Not a bad thing (perhaps even a good thing, as this means there are just that many more options to try in the future), but I was just not used to seeing so many different nuances between dessert options. I ordered the Special Mango Juice Sago & Pomelo w Mango Ice Cream, with some lychee jelly added at the bottom. I was met with a surprising array of textures, and a good kick of sweetness to back it up. Delicious! What I was most impressed about, however, and really the only thing that stood out to me about this dish was how sweet the mangoes were! I had pretty high expectations for these mangos, given the name of the store, but these expectations were definitely met-- and then some! Overall, nice little dessert shop. I think this place has its own little niche, which is important considering they're competing against some hefty places like MeetFresh a few blocks away. You're given a pager that buzzes when your order is ready and you go up to the counter to pick it up. I was bit confused when I got my order--I guess I mistakenly assumed it was bingsoo. It was not. Instead, it was straight up mango juice with some strawberry syrup? with the toppings surrounding the scoop of ice cream in the middle. I mean.. the name said it all! Maybe I didn't look hard at the pictures :P Then there's the sago, which I've loved since I was little.. They're little pearls, similar to tapioca in texture and in appearance, but sago is smaller and also made from palm trees, not the cassava plant. All in all, I enjoyed it. It was like a refreshing mango gazpacho. Super refreshing and light. Definitely balanced out the greasy, salty, fried and heavy food I had beforehand. Mango Mango is a great alternative to the typical boba tea if you're craving a sweet drink or dessert. It is located on the second level of Chinatown Square. The place does get crowded on weekends and it may be difficult to snag a table especially for larger groups. Hubby and I shared the A1 (special mango juice sago and pomelo with mango ice cream) which we thoroughly enjoyed. What a pleasant surprise to stumble into this place last night! It's a little hard to find because it's on the second floor but it's definitely worth finding your way there! Very well composed dessert The mango, they call it mango juicy but it's much better than that! They use fresh mango and blend it into a smoothie without any additional sugar or ice. So if you are looking for a really healthy dessert, this is definitely the place to go. On top of that each dish has various toppings. The one I ordered has mango and sticky rice ball. Normally sticky rice ball restaurants used are mochi style which is a little harder and chewier but they make in house sticky rice ball which is the same as tang yuan so it's beautifully sticky and soft, and just feels so healthy eating this. We ordered the Mango Juice with Glutinous Rice ball and durian pancake. The Mango dessert consists of this sweet soup of mango juice and some small chunks of mango, which are quite sour and not too flavorful. It's so important to have good fruits for these desserts since it's the star of the show but probably they couldn't find good mangoes:( The glutinous rice balls taste very very bland. The durian rice cake was underwhelming too, too much cream and the durian itself wasn't sweet. They also oversweeten the cream and it kind of masks the durian, which is already not outstanding. Again, having quality fruits for these desserts is so important but they seem to miss it here. read more
