This review is specifically for the Mango Crazy Truck at Modesto Grub Hubs. We enjoyed a delicious mangonada from here and the girl working was very chill. I think she was the only one there because she took our order and closed the window and it took a bit for our order to come out. We were waiting on food from another truck anyway so it wasn't an issue. The sorbet was yummy and the price was good. We will be back.

Went there Friday night before I took a a plane trip to NY.. wanted something refreshing and got this see the pic.. it was no lie the most disgusting think I've ever had...for like 12.00 with tip.. I've got no idea what they squirt on it. Was disgusting... still in my car at the airport totally full. Refund please..

Ceviche Boats - Cucumber filled with goodness and spice (Keto friendly)

Oh boy, my bf and I were craving some ceviche type of food and decided to try this place out 30 minutes before closing. Located in a nice spacious shopping complex, with plenty of parking spots, and a variety of different things in close proximity to Mango Crazy. We're from LA and we love eating fruit with lemon and tajin especially at our local park back home so going through the reviews and amazing photos taken from previous customers we had to try! It's honestly a little place, not much room to fit many people, but if I recall they had an area outside to sit (it was night time and pretty dark when I went, lol). The line was long but the wait was honestly fairly short and the employees are on top of their game. I ordered the shrimp ceviche cucumber boats, not much shrimp on them but the flavor was great, I really loved the freshness of them, and especially all the color! I tried out an agua fresca drink but I honestly can't remember the exact name of it but I know that it was green and pretty tasty, not too sweet nor bland! My bf ordered the tostilokos with salsa verde Tostitos, I'm not a fan of pork skin but he loved them! Next time, I think I'll try out the 'pina del mar' or the 'Diablito' since literally, everyone in front of us was ordering that. We will def be back when we go shopping at Raley's! Thanks again for your service and tasty food!

    mangonada $5.99
    Thien H.

The mangonada $5.99 was delicious. Sweet, salty, tart. Great place to beat the summer heat. They weren't very busy after a weeknight dinner, so we just stuck around and chatted while eating our treats. I like that the place is locally owned. The interior paint could be a little bit more soothing, but I guess they're going for "fun/crazy."

    Berry Banana Pineapple Açaí bowl

The new Pineapple Açaí bowl was delicious! We got the Berry Banana and it didn't disappoint. It's been hard finding açaí bowls in Modesto so if anyone is looking for a good açaí bowl, you need to come here.

This review is specifically for the Mango Crazy at the Grub Hub. I've only been here twice prior to the Pandemic and they've never disappointed. We're from SF and whenever we can make a trip out to visit our family, we make sure to stop by the hub. Mango crazy always has the best customer service and you can't beat their value and quality. We love Mango Crazy!!

The setup itself is just weird; you have to stand outside and wait for someone to come out to seat you. When you go inside, its small and has kind of a "bar meets saddam hussein's palace" kind of vibe, there is gold everywhere in here. Not to mention its a bar that has been converted into a restaurant, its separated by the check-in desk by drapery. One good point is that all of the staff is very friendly and attentive, although I think our waitress had to cover every table in the place, which seems kind of not great for her! We started with some drinks, they were both good, no complaints there. After they came we ordered our food, we ordered them one at a time. First up was the bacon wrapped dates. These were pretty good, the bacon was cooked well and had some good crisp, it paired well with the dates and cheese inside. The walnut was kind of weird and my wife and I both thought for a second the date pit hadn't been removed. Next we got the corn empanadas, these were disappointing but not awful. The dough was cooked fine but it has absolutely no flavor, like nothing at all. The filling was also cooked ok, the corn had good texture, but similarly, had no flavor, about the only thing I could tint was a tiny bit of cilantro. Once you dip it in the sauce that comes with it, things improve, but we both felt the empanadas should be able to stand on their own. The last tapas item we got was the costillas al ajillo, these were both disappointing AND awful. They are advertised as "fall off the bone fried rib tips, garlic infused olive oil, crisp garlic chips" The only thing crispy about this was the meat itself, it was incredibly dry and had no flavor. There was a little bit of olive oil and some minced garlic, but not "crispy garlic chips". Credit where credits due they took if off the bill, but it was just incredibly bad. We finished with the chocolate flan which was quite good, no complaints there. All in all it was disappointing and I don't know that we would come back.

We stopped in just before 6:00 and we're greeted by a friendly woman getting the restaurant ready for opening. We later came to find out she was an owner. She was so sweet and offered to seat us before the servers actually showed up, as they had worked a local event that day. The waitress soon came and our wonderful experience began. They have a great wine list and wine cocktails. We ordered three dishes and were pleased with the presentation and flavors. Pica-Pau - a traditional Portuguese dish with beef and spices in a delicious broth. It's served with bread for soaking up the broth. I really enjoyed this dish, especially the broth. Crostini di Mare - shrimp on crostini's with a tangy garlicky sauce on top. This was my favorite and I wouldn't hesitate to order this again. Sea Legs - octopus over a sweet potato mash. This was tasty as well and the octopus was cooked perfectly. The sweet potato mash is divine!! We also had a Caprese salad, pretty average, but nice presentation. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and so nice to people watch on the main drag. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan to go back next time we visit. The plate came with six tiny pieces of pork belly which looked very dry, burnt and shrunk. It was pretty hard to chew especially the crust. I didn't find it enjoyable in any way. I asked our server if it was supposed to be this way. And she said yes, crispy outside and juicy inside.
