This new restaurant is located within Vela Terraces hotel. It was down the block from where my family was staying (Tapyas Hotel). We were walking to a different restaurant when we passed by this place. An employee, who we later found out was the lead chef, happened to be walking out and we asked him about the food there. I want to share my experience so tourists like myself would not miss out on this place!
The lead chef, Mark, was very nice and hospitable and answered all the questions my parents had--and they ask a lot of questions. We wanted to have dinner here for the following night after our tour, but we weren't sure what time. He said we can call the next morning to tell him what time we'll be coming and so they can get us the catch of the day (it was crab that day). He even gave us his personal number to help us out.
The next night at the restaurant, Mark was there throughout our meal to make sure that everything was right and that we were satisfied even if it was his day off. I would give the restaurant more stars if I could just for the service alone. Even the other staff there were friendly.
The food was delicious! The muscle soup was gingery and sweet. The shrimp and crab were sweet and juicy. There was also pork pinakbet, marinated chicken, cheesy clams, fish, and seaweed.
Con:
-The restroom is downstairs so you have to go up and down to wash your hands, if you like to wash them a lot like me. They have a bowl of warm water and kalamansi that you can clean your hands with before/after your boodle Fight.
-I was eating the veggies off the pinakbet and it was a bit salty.
Other than that, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. read more
