We stumbled onto this spot while searching for a lunch venue. When we got in we saw that they had plenty of seafood options, which is what we were craving. We were directed to a nipa hut for seating and offered menus immediately. No AC but we did have a fan in our hut that was helpful in circulating air in the section. We ordered one of the seafood platters, fried chicken with fries, kang kong with garlic, mushrooms, long silog, a fresh buko juice, and a few soft drinks-Coke, Sprite, bottled water. The food came out almost immediately (the long silog was the last to come out). The fried chicken (by photo had 4 pieces and fries) was only 3 pieces with fries. Pretty tasty and definitely different from fried chicken back home. The kang kong was really good, especially with extra amounts of garlic. Same with the mushrooms, although I ate around the green chiles since I don't really do spice. I did like the platter of seafood--delicious fish, 2 clams were pretty good with seasoning, 6 shrimp with garlic, and small amount of kang kong with some garlic. Honestly, the platter was more appropriate to feed 2 to even 3 people (if that). The long silog came and was as expected with the rice, egg, 2 links of longganisa and some fresh fruit. The fresh buko was huge with a lot of coconut juice and meat inside. It came with a spoon and straw to sip out juice/scoop out meat. The presentation was amazing, but I felt like you were paying more for the look and less for the food portions. Service was also a bit sporadic. They were pretty attentive up until we got the food but I feel like they were under staffed for the amount of people in the venue. Also note that you have to use a tabo for hand washing and using the toilet. No running water here. The toilets and handwash area are located at the back of the restaurant and a hand wash sink area set up more central to the restaurant When checking out at the front, we were given the option of cash or charge. If you do charge, it is a 10% service fee. read more

This place has a tropical feel to it with lots of potted plants, wispy white curtains and hanging shell decor. Many seating options for you to choose from: traditional tables and chairs, low tables where you can sit on the floor, or a nipa hut style booth. No aircon but the fans are sufficient in the morning or at night when it's cooler. We felt adventurous, so we tried: - Crocodile sisig - Meat was ground up, couldn't really appreciate the crocodile meat's taste and texture. It would be better if meat was cut up into chunks instead. - Bird's Nest Soup - made from nests collected locally. This was a tasty soup, similar in texture and taste to a Chinese egg drop soup. - Sizzling Garlic Kangkong - tasty - Ensaladang Lato (Seaweed salad) - think of popping boba from the sea. - Roasted chicken - ok - Lechon Kawali - hard to chew - Sinigang na isda - ok - Complimentary fish or shrimp crackers - crunchy and tasty. This place was great! Food was great, service was also amazing and the only place in the island from what I remember that accepts credit card as a form of payment at the time! We were running out of cash so finding a place that accepts credit card is a definite gem for me! Plus, it was walking distance from the place that we were staying at so it was super convenient! There were outside seating as well as inside but we chose to sit outside in these little huts which I thought was super cute. When we went, we got the bicol express and alligator sisig with rice for our main entree & for our appetizer, we got the soup & calamari. I honestly enjoyed it all and thought it was super yummy and tasty. The ambiance also was super relaxing and service was good! It's just a little pricey than the average restaurants you can find around there. But other than that, I had a great time here! read more

Nice quaint restaurant with traditional seatings. Surrounding didn't feel boring, it had a mango tree, papaya tree and others. The pork sinigang and fried chicken were both good, though the croc sisig should be chopped into pieces instead of being made into ground meat. Won't hurt to try this restaurant. read more

What do you get when you take good music, good food, ambiance on point, booze and amazing service? You get Kawayanan Grill Station. And they don't just stop at a good night out my friend. It seems as if they're a one stop shop for activities in the day time as well. So you can get your eat on while you get to shopping for activities, like snorkeling, scuba diving, and island beach hopping. We come for the food here, and the food is pretty good. We're pretty much in an island surrounded by sea water, so please do come for some sea food. I suggest to start off with the K-Grill Platter. It has all the seafood stuff covered in one plate. A serving of sea grapes surrounded by 2 prawns, 2 fish steaks (different kinds), A grilled kibao (clam), and blue crabs. We did this platter as a shareable since the first night we came here, we weren't really very hungry. We just came for a little bit of food over some redhorses and cocktails. The second time we came here, we just finished doing some easy to moderate hiking. So we're plenty hungry and definitely ready to chow down. We ordered the octopus bicol express style and the alligator sisig, both these kids served on sizzling plates. The alligator was pretty good, it embodied great flavor and is very tender. The octopus was a bit chewy, but it also went well with the bicol express sauce. Both dish goes very well over rice. The place has a bar type atmosphere, so if you wanna just stay in and drink after dinner here, it's totally cool as well. They have great music that wasn't overly loud, so you can yak it out with your friend if you like until you feel you're ready to head back to your domiciles. Come early and grab some a kubo (hut) so you can people watch while staying in your own confinement. FUN!! Thank you very much Kayawanan Grill for some great night out in town. WILL NOT RECOMMEND. Upon entering on 26th Dec,, we found the place empty, but it was overly dark with numerous mosquitoes, and the waitresses lacked attentiveness. Despite my explicit request for NO garlic, the seafood platter arrived adorned with garlic, the crab didn't have meat, sisig serving wasn't enough for the price, the fried chicken was slightly burnt, and unbelievably, they ran out of spaghetti despite us being the first guests for dinner. I won't be recommending this place to friends or tourists; it's not family-friendly and overly priced. read more

myra, the owner, is full of an incredible amount of energy & is very hospitable! kawayanan has a great ambiance & service. if you book a reservation you can reserve a dinner table inside of a hut. we ordered seafood platter #2 where we had the most amazing mussels! in addition we ordered their famous bbq chicken which was also delicious. kinda a far jeepney ride from where we stayed (two seasons hotel), but it's worth it. jeepney ride is about 20-40 pesos. read more

After spending the day on island tours in coron, this has been our favorite dinner destination. From sinigang na tuna, chicharon bulaklak, lechon kawali, pork BBQ, crabs, lobsters, kilawin tuna and and more (including crocodile sisig), there is more than enough choices for everyone. They have a bar filled with a good selection of spirits if you want to drink before you eat. You can play billiards or sing along with their video karaoke while waiting for your food as well. Don't forget to order one a mango or bull shake after eating. The price of food is very decent, we have ordered a lot of food for 10 adults and three tods for probably half the price of the same type of restaurant in Manila. Liked the food because I've not had this type of cuisine,but I can't recommend it for these reasons,everything was over cooked,and my girlfriend that lives here thinks the food was not fresh. Don't understand how you can be that close to the ocean and not get fresh? It wasn't that busy for them to have over cooked anything. The alligator meat on a sizzling plate is surprisingly good, but the rest is just average to me. Having said that, it is a nice place for big groups. We have more than 20 people, and they don't have any issue finding a table for us. read more

Tourist trap. Beware! The place is over rated. We arrived at 9:30AM from the airport and wanted to have brunch since our flight was so early. We ordered and it took them an hour to serve the first dish, another 15 minutes for the second and so on and so forth until 11:45AM. It was so slow considering that we ordered seafoods. Most of the items on the menu were not available like the blue crabs and the sisig crocodile which would have been worth the wait. The taste was so so...the only redeeming factor is the hospitality of their servers and the star is for them. Price is not commensurate to the value of the food that they served. This was the best restaurant I went to in Coron. Try the grilled meat tray and the red crab, both are amazing for the price. Even for the philippines, the prices here are low, whereas the quality is high. Unfortunately, they were out of leche flan, but other than that the lunch was great. We came during the day, but it seems like this place would be fun at night as well, as they have the largest bar of any I've seen on Coron, as well as billiards (pool table), and a layout that would be great for mingling. read more
