I was scheduled with Michaela for a Halo face framing type situation and was greeted very kindly by her and everyone else at the front desk. They offer you water and other beverages there as you arrive. There is also local crafted jewelry in the sitting area to browse. Getting back to hair, Michaela was very personable, funny, nice, and professional. The experience was nice and it feels like you're just chatting with an old friend. Honestly I probably chat too much but the story of my life LOL. They take you back to the hair washing area which is quiet and Serene, ready for relaxation. They also offer you and I mask type essential oil situation where you can pick different scents. After your hair is done washing you get processed and then you go back to your sitting area. It took a little bit to get my hair to the desired look but Michaela and the salon made it very easy to work with and get the results we were hoping for. Sad to say, many years after my original review, after my hairdresser Makenna left Mark Christopher…read more(and I followed her, until she moved away) I decided to give the salon another try earlier this year. Unfortunately, my previous (very positive) experienced did not hold up. The salon ambience has been stripped... it felt very middle of the road decor-wise, loads of product shelves and no posh salon vibe remaining. I took a chance on a stylist who essentially ruined my hair with color. I've never had such a traumatic color job... the application of the foils and the color was insane - foils scrunched every which way, no rhyme or reason... she was so rough on my head when she removed the foils, that it actually hurt. But it was the result of the color that actually had me in tears. I had to go to another salon to have it fixed, and when i tried to get a refund for it from Mark Christopher they gave me a bit of a runaround for about two months before I finally got refunded. I don't love giving poor public reviews but sadly this place seems to have had a fall from grace from its original top salon status.

Linda is a master of her craft, teaches you what works for YOUR hair (not some prescriptive method), and does it with a smile. My hair cuts also last months at a time and grow out well. I discovered Tesoro hair design a few months ago and now I don't like going anywhere else to get my…read morehair cut. Maurizio, the owner, is a really nice guy and he knows how to style hair. You can tell that he has been doing it for a long time and takes pride in his work. I've had my hair cut by him three times and I've been very happy with the results every time. The atmosphere at Tesoro is really laid back and comfortable. When you arrive you are greeted by Maurizio or one of the other stylists and usually offered a water or a cup of coffee. It's a nice touch and I think it speaks to the level of service that they provide. You can make an appointment but they also take walk ins. If you walk in though, you may have to wait a while. So, I would recommend making an appointment, especially if you're going on the weekend. As a guy, you really can't beat the value. For the price point $20 you get a professional haircut and wash. You are going to pay close to that at any one of the corporate hair cutting places where they tend to do a poor job and rush you in and out.
