A lot of stylists can give you what you want on a first visit with a fresh canvas, but not everyone can live up to the touch up, the covering of grays, the blending of old highlights, etc. Atalaya can do it all. My hair has been a hot mess, roots, grays, warm tones, frizz...and she manages to not only to conquer it all, but to slay it every time! Not only is she amazing at what she does, but she is a genuinely good person. She is easy to talk to and she takes every opportunity to give back to the community - collecting school supplies, being a drop off for toys for tots, taking donations for shelters, etc. Do yourself a favor and let her work her magic!

To preface, this was my first time going to a salon to dye my hair and steering away from my usual…read morehair stylist (but it was unfortunately needed for an emergency haircut). Also I made this account to leave a review, hence no other reviews. I went to the salon the other day just to dye my hair one specific color (not intricate at all just a solid color on half my head) I showed the stylist a picture (of cherry red hair) and picked my own color (vibrant cherry red) I already have ginger hair so I didn't think it would be that much of a difference but I'm not a stylist so I don't know for sure. When my hair was done it was purple. A super vibrant purple, like almost no red at all (other than my natural color). I told her I wanted it to be red, like the photo and the sample, she said it was strange that it was so vibrant "violet" and I guess removed some of the color and added red (I'm not sure if that's what she did but she said she would try to fix it). By the time we had finished, 3 hours had passed and my hair was still purple. I called today and asked for the color used on my hair, looked it up and sure enough it was purple. (Side note: They just called again and I didn't pick up but they left a voicemail and said it was actually a DIFFERENT hair dye which is more of a maroon) I don't actually know which one they used but at first it was DEFINITELY vibrant dark purple so I doubt it was the maroon one, especially because my natural hair is ginger. I want to be clear and say everyone was so nice and sweet and I would definitely come back if it wasn't for an (I'm sure) miscommunication. I won't name the stylist's name either because she was so nice and meant well it's just not what I wanted.. at all and I paid quite a bit for the service. I hurried out of the salon as I had another commitment. I don't like to complain but this felt worthy as I want to avoid others from having the same experience as I did. Remember to communicate with your stylist and don't be a doormat! If something feels wrong, it is, advocate for your self.
