I showed up for my daughter's scheduled appointment and the stylist canceled on me on the spot when I arrived at her home. Long story short, I was beyond disappointed and still wanted to attempt to get my daughters hair braided. Thankfully, I was given this salons number by the personal trainer and took a chance at booking a same day appointment. By the grace of God, Joyez Salon had an appointment so I took it. We met Crystal White and she did an amazing job oh my daughters hair. She did 2 Dutch braids with the mermaid hair we had purchased for her braids. So loving and professional and very kind! Fast forward 5 months and we book a curly cut with Crystal...beyond happy with the service and the outcome!! The whole salon is so welcoming and inviting and they really do care about their clientele! My baby is happy with her hair and I know we have a salon home to go to for all her hair services! A lot of stylists can give you what you want on a first visit with a fresh canvas, but not everyone can live up to the touch up, the covering of grays, the blending of old highlights, etc. Atalaya can do it all. My hair has been a hot mess, roots, grays, warm tones, frizz...and she manages to not only to conquer it all, but to slay it every time! From the start, I communicated my concerns clearly and politely, expressing that the highlights didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I was told I could come back to have more highlights added, especially on my new growth, and while I was initially willing to give her a second chance, things only went downhill from there. Upon my appointment, I was only charged for the haircut and the products used, with the understanding that I would pay the remaining balance when the job was finished. The next day, however, I received a call from Kersten saying that she felt unable to achieve the results I wanted and suggested I find another stylist. This is completely unprofessional--no experienced or competent stylist would simply give up on a client's request like that. Instead of working with me to fix the issue, she abandoned me with dark roots that were left visible for four inches and avoided highlighting my bangs altogether. The result looked nothing like the blended, sun-kissed highlights I requested; instead, I was left with a harsh, dark rooted look that was far from what I asked for. I have never encountered a stylist so unwilling to correct a mistake, especially when it could have been easily fixed with a few additional highlights. The lack of effort and unwillingness to ensure my satisfaction was beyond frustrating. I would not recommend Kersten to anyone. She should have done everything in her power to make things right, but instead, she left me feeling completely ignored and dissatisfied with my hair. If I could leave 0 star review I would! To make matters worse, even the salon owner Diane failed to take any responsibility for the situation. It is clearly stated in the salon's own policy that if a client is unhappy, they will be given the opportunity to have the issue corrected. That promise was completely disregarded. Despite my efforts to address the problem respectfully and through the proper channels, no one took accountability--not even the person in charge. This is absolutely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism and customer care within this establishment. To allow an incompetent colorist to botch a service and then do nothing to rectify it is not only unprofessional, it's downright negligent. This entire experience was a nightmare, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!!
