I tried a few new stylists at other salons after I moved closer into town, yet when I started working near the airport, I switched to the Alamo Heights location. Hannah's been my stylist for several years now. While I stopped working near the airport years ago, I still drive to get my hair done by Hannah. Now and then I have tried stylists who are closer, yet it wasn't a good fit. Hannah knows my style - feathered highlights and dimension that is subtle and not over the top. As for the cut, she knows I like to keep my hair low-maintenance with ability to curl, wave, or straighten my hair. Her work is consistent. Hannah's super easy to chat with as well, and I appreciate that she asks how my child's doing each time. We both love music and travel, and most of our convos are around those two topics. read more

I am beyond disappointed with my recent experience with Kersten. I came to her hoping for a sun-kissed highlight look, specifically inspired by pictures I presented to her, and left feeling completely unsatisfied. From the start, I communicated my concerns clearly and politely, expressing that the highlights didn't turn out the way I had hoped. I was told I could come back to have more highlights added, especially on my new growth, and while I was initially willing to give her a second chance, things only went downhill from there. Upon my appointment, I was only charged for the haircut and the products used, with the understanding that I would pay the remaining balance when the job was finished. The next day, however, I received a call from Kersten saying that she felt unable to achieve the results I wanted and suggested I find another stylist. This is completely unprofessional--no experienced or competent stylist would simply give up on a client's request like that. Instead of working with me to fix the issue, she abandoned me with dark roots that were left visible for four inches and avoided highlighting my bangs altogether. The result looked nothing like the blended, sun-kissed highlights I requested; instead, I was left with a harsh, dark rooted look that was far from what I asked for. I have never encountered a stylist so unwilling to correct a mistake, especially when it could have been easily fixed with a few additional highlights. The lack of effort and unwillingness to ensure my satisfaction was beyond frustrating. I would not recommend Kersten to anyone. She should have done everything in her power to make things right, but instead, she left me feeling completely ignored and dissatisfied with my hair. If I could leave 0 star review I would! To make matters worse, even the salon owner Diane failed to take any responsibility for the situation. It is clearly stated in the salon's own policy that if a client is unhappy, they will be given the opportunity to have the issue corrected. That promise was completely disregarded. Despite my efforts to address the problem respectfully and through the proper channels, no one took accountability--not even the person in charge. This is absolutely unacceptable and speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism and customer care within this establishment. To allow an incompetent colorist to botch a service and then do nothing to rectify it is not only unprofessional, it's downright negligent. Savannah ruined the color of my hair. I asked for highlights on the crown of my head and she bleached my whole head. She never apologized for her wrong color and over coloring. The manager still charged me for the service. And when I went back the next day to let them attempt to fix it, I was treated SO rudely. Both times she never even gave me a blow out although they charged me $55 for one. Bad color job. And much worse attitude. No one even bothered to simply say "I'm sorry we messed it up." My go to place for gettin my hair did. They have not failed me yet. The one I usually frequent is in Helotes, but I had a hair emergency and needed to color my hair darker and this location was so helpful to squeeze me in asap. They took me in, understood my situation and the end result was more than I expected. Their staff are patient with you and are willing to work with you. I get my hair professionally done every 2 months. Yes it can get pricy, but I've spent way less for my hair elsewhere many times and it came out unsatisfyingly ugly! Had my hair cut, root touch up and Highlighted by Michelle Thompson on 8-11-16 Very unsatisfied. Dye stains on my forehead, nape of neck and sides at hairline. I asked her to remove the skin stains. Michelle Thompson made a worthless attemp at removing stains. I bought product at Sally's and removed it myself. My first experience at D'Anthony Salon was wonderful! The salon had been recommended to me by a few people and after reading Yelp reviews I decided to make an appointment. The call to the salon was a positive first impression. Michelle was professional and listened when I told her what services I needed- all over color and cut - and my hair type. She recommended Dylan Garcia and booked my appointment. I arrive a little early for my appointment and was immediately greeted as I walked in. The lady at the front desk checked me in and a few moments later I was greeted by Dylan. She gave me a short questionnaire to fill out about my hair ( Love this idea to help the stylist!). From the moment I met her to the end of my visit, Dylan was awesome! She put me at ease and gained my trust before we started by asking few more questions, listening to me and we discussed reality based on my current hair condition. She told me her game plan and got started. Color was professionally applied, hair piled up and process clock set. (She was really sweet in offering me a drink and asking if she could get me a late lunch from Chester's next door as the color did it's thing.) After processing, she did a good rinse, massaging shampoo and conditioner. Then it was blow dry, iron and dry cut. She was very meticulous going section by section. I'm very happy with the dark chocolate brown color and a perfect cut exactly the length I wanted it! (Already have my 6 weeks follow up booked!!) I have been coming to this salon since the fall with Adrianna. She styled my hair for my bridal shower and that turned out great. My last two visits were not great. I sent photos of what I was trying to achieve with the color. I asked for a honey balayage golden tones with keeping the front more blonde. The first time it was like highlights with black color added throughout. The lighting in the salon was hard to tell but it's definitely not the color I asked for and the blonde highlights were very yellow and streaky. I sent Adrianna pictures and I have never gone back to get my hair redone before so I was already super uncomfortable having to discuss my complaints. I go back a week later. It took FOREVER, so by the time I was done I was so hungry and just wanted to leave. And it's even WORSE than the first time. It's like she colored the roots of my hair RED!! And the rest is bleached all over. It's not nicely blended at all. My hair feels so damaged and disgusting. The red is so noticeable especially in natural lightening. I don't understand what's so difficult with trying to achieve a honey blonde balayage. I don't want RED or black in my hair. Just different shades of blonde. My hair is very damaged after my last appointment and it looks absolutely terrible. They didn't charge to redo my hair and I still tipped her. But now I wish I wouldn't have because the customer service when I went back to have it corrected was awful. Their age definitely showed through. I showed a different picture the second time because obviously I wasn't getting the color i wanted to her. I was uncomfortable the entire time and it doesn't make you feel great when you are going back because you don't like the color. And Adrianna even admitted that her manager helped with the color and when she was looking at my hair that it was like black. I want to know who thinks black or red is honey blonde? I will never go back and I'm so embarrassed with the way my hair looks. But going to wait a couple months to redo it because it's so damaged from getting it colored at this salon. And to top it off, yesterday Adrianna texted me asking if I could leave her a good review!!!!! I sent her my pictures of the red in my hair. I even told her the day I left my husband asked why they put red on the top of my head and she said it's honey blonde. And even after i sent her a reply stating I wouldn't be leaving a review because I was completely unsatisfied with the result, she blocks me on instagram. Instead of offering a refund and apology or any response. She did not reply to my message to her. And that is why I decided to write a review, because I was actually trying to help her and let her know why I would not be returning so she doesn't make the same mistake with someone else. And I bought their expensive shampoo and conditioner last time too because i want the color to last. I'm not not using it because I want the color to fade ASAP. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME going to this salon! read more

Originally i was going to write a very bad review, but i changed my mind. I went in for highlights,cuts and blowdry. I first tell the stylist i want auburn but says he can't and we agree on another color, as long as it wasn't blonde. I have almost black hair and the contrast would be to drastic. First the stylist takes almost 1.5 hr to put in the foils. By then the bottom back have been processed for over an hour. The stylist then removes foils by area and rinses them while the rest is still processing. I've had highlights done every yr and had a stylist for 6yrs until i moved, never have a seen spot removal of foils, and spot rinsing. My hair was washed with a great massage, but after applying a toner and seeing myself in the bathroom i had white/golden/brassy highlights and had to apply another toner/shine, to fix it. The stylist was able to darken the highlights, and do the cut but this took almost 5hrs. I have never been in salon for that long for one color highlights. The highlights did look good at end but my hair in the back is damaged a little. So much the stylist had to put 3 products in my hair to comb it and blowdry. My hair was not silky soft, at the end,eventhough my hair had not been damaged or colored for 1yr. Will not go again. Meanwhile i did see a women get a Brazilian blowout and her hair did come out amazing and soft and she was out way before me.She looked very satisfied. They have a $300 special. I recommend getting that than color. Some salons just have better expertise in other things, but highlights should of been simple. read more

New to the area and decided to buy the groupon to give it a try. The salon was pretty nice inside. I had an appt with Adrian. He was very nice, however I was not impressed with how he had cut my hair. I showed him several pictures of how my hair was and he just said okay okay. When he started chopping my hair, I was expecting him to go over it with me but he just went at it. When he was done he proceeded to style it. I told him how I felt and what I thought needed more work on and again he just went at it and didn't talk it over with me. He did do a good job styling it but when I finally got around to really looking at it without any styling done, I realized what a terrible job he did. For what I spent on the groupon plus the additional fee for long hair, I could have gone to a high end salon. Now I'm left with the decision to grow my hair out so I can get it recut or find another place to fix it... read more
