This last time changed my mind. I went with a friend, and she called to book the appointment weeks ago, with specific technicians. We get to the salon and I let them know I changed my mind and want gel now, not acrylics. A few moments after we walk in a woman comes in and says she has an appointment with one of our technicians. They let her know they overbooked and wouldn't be able to service her. The woman told the technicians that she had called a couple days before and scheduled, and they must've messed it up. Then the technician who's overbooked comes over and tells us we're going to switch so she can do the other woman's nails. To me, as a business, this is bad practice, you shouldn't put your customers in a position like this. I understand that mistakes happen, but they should've honored the people that made the appointment first. In hindsight, I should've advocated for myself better, but I don't think businesses should be putting their clients in this position. They had us sit down because they weren't ready, and we had to wait an additional 15 minutes. At that point I was on a time crunch, and didn't have time to go anywhere else. The technician who did my nails was very upset that I wasn't doing acrylics anymore, and asked me three or four times if I was sure. I didn't realize it at the time, but she cut my cuticle open, and didn't say anything about it. I got home and my finger was in a lot of pain. Bad communication and honoring clients who booked after your other ones is a no for me.
