Salon is overrated. I went there for hair and makeup services for a wedding reception. I wasn't greeted right away when I walked in. That is ok not a big deal, I guess I didn't want to stare at the ladies behind the counter while they were busy chit chatting. My makeup was pretty well done and customized to what I wanted. However they did not have enough lipstick shades to match the shade I wanted. At the end my lips looked pretty bad. My eyes and everything else looked great (to begin with). When it came time to do my hair, I was turned sideways for some reason so I couldn't see the mirror. Granted I should've asked to be turned but I trusted the stylist to do as I asked (I came with a picture). However the stylist in front of me (her client's seat was also turned sideways) was blowdrying hair and the air kept hitting my face. I'm pretty sure it melted some of my eye makeup because by the time I was done my makeup had fallen off a bit underneath (and it wasn't fixed despite asking). Once my hair was done being styled I was turned around to face the mirror and it looked horrendous, nothing close to the picture I had shown. I had to ask her to blow dry half the hair out and not to mention I'm sure I had a lot of heat damage. She did put in effort into trying to redo it so I tipped her well for her time and effort. At the end I had to come home and fix a bunch of things after my 2 hour appointment. I guess my point is to speak up and make sure you're facing the mirror the whole time so you can see what's going on. It would also be nice to be greeted right away. read more

I booked makeup services for myself and my bridesmaids with Mandy for my December wedding. As we requested Mandy travel to us the morning of, upon booking, I was asked to pay a $200 travel fee, which I happily did. I was never emailed any kind of contract or client agreement, but I was not anticipating a problem. When the Governor restricted indoor dining once again, we decided to cancel our existing plans and elope. This left me with no reason to have a makeup artist booked for any kind of services that day. I reached out to the salon to let them know of the cancellation and request a refund of my travel fee. I was then told that while they do not offer refunds, they would be offering me a $200 credit to the salon. I have absolutely zero problem with the notion of a non-refundable fee. Where I do have issue is the fact that I was never informed of this verbally, a contract was not presented to me, nor were any other policies which the studio may adhere to. Furthermore, it was described to me as a "travel fee," which she was no longer required to do. When I brought this to their attention, I was told their manager would be reaching out to get my card info to process the refund. It has now been two weeks and I did not receive a phone call, nor was there any other attempt to reach me. I think it is also worth noting that had I been completely happy with the results of my makeup trial, I likely would have been more willing to accept a salon credit. My skin does tend to be on the oilier side and within a couple hours, I already felt like my face was melting. My skin had not been primed, and there was what felt like a pound of foundation caked on my face. Frankly, it aged me by about 10 years. I do not often write negative reviews, but in the current situation, where I know I am not the only bride that was going through what many are currently dealing with, I think it's worth putting it out there, as this business does not put these details into writing. All of my vendors were small businesses. All of my vendors required a deposit, and all of my vendors put in writing that this deposit was non-refundable. I was required to sign these contracts. Had I known before hand that they would fail to make light of a policy, and then turn around and try to capitalize from our unfortunate circumstance, I certainly would have been deterred from booking in the first place. read more

I had a great experience at Mandy Rose Salon, I was in a bridal party and everyone got their hair and make-up done there. They were very professional, on time, great work for both hair and makeup. Only thing that was disappointing is that my friend got her hair done and she didn't know that it was a "more experienced " stylist and he updo was 80 instead of 60-65 like the rest of the party. I came to this studio based off a recommendation from my hair salon. When I arrived there was a bridal party there so it was very busy. My make up artist began by asking me what I liked and what look I was going for. I said I wanted something very natural and she did not disappoint! I was SO impressed with the way my make up turned out. It was beautiful. This is the first time I have loved the way my make up has turned out. I made an appointment with Farah for a bridal makeup trial last week while I was on break from work. A.) The salon opened 10 minutes late after I rushed to get there on-time. B.) Farah never showed up. She called the owner of the salon who was there, and said she was in Detroit, and wouldn't make the appointment. Mandy, the owner, offered to do my makeup, to which I replied, "That wouldn't make sense as you're not going to be doing my makeup on my wedding day..." Mandy didn't offer me any consolation for my time, or driving all the way there (30 minutes) for nothing. I later received a text message from Farah that she "never works Tuesdays and nobody reminded her." Needless to say, I never replied and would not recommend this salon to anyone. They're unreliable, not punctual and definitely do not care about their customers. I hope brides read this and reconsider when using their services for their big day. read more
