This is a great place to eat. Good food and friendly service. Same owner as Armando's in Houston.

Amazing Mexican Food lots of flavor and fresh tastes. The frozen margaritas are also excellent. My favorite plate is the beef fajita. Service is extremely excellent. Only a few places to eat in Round Top, they are all great but if your hungry for Mexican food definitely try Mandito's and don't be fooled by some of the marginal reviewers. read more

We went 3 times, every time the service was really slow. The homemade chips are awesome !!! The food has no flavor whatsoever, we were so disappointed ! After the third try, we just can't find a reason to go back. They should have left Los Patrones in that location !!! read more

There is nothing authentic or legit about this Tex-Mex place. This is bland, flavorless, over-priced food geared toward rich Houston retirees who have weak constitutions and weekend ranchettes in the area. Do yourself a favor and eat at one of the great places in greater Round Top (Royers or Outlaws BBQ) or drive to Giddings or La Grange for legit Mexican food. You've been warned. read more

The salsa and carnitas tacos were delicious, but the tortillas were a bit greasy. The beans were not a hit with us, however my sister really enjoyed the grilled chicken breast. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful! read more

Yum- what a cute little place, the decor is so much fun. Perfectly charming for RT! It is with in walking distance from the town square which is nice. Home made tortillas are to die for. The steak quesadilla was fantastic, the guacamole was fresh, the salsa Verde was AMAZING! Frozen margarita was perfectly tart and sweet, the fresh squeezed lime juice is a nice touch. The large patio is a great addition, I can't wait to sit our there on a beautiful afternoon and enjoy a margarita and guacamole. There is a TON of parking in their lot which is nice because most places in Round Top don't have ample parking during the antique show. I look forward to visiting very soon! read more

Fresh and delicious Tex Mex. So happy to have them here in Round Top. Favorites so far are their 'bowls'. So creative! Enchiladas Suizas are stuffed full of flavorful white chicken meat and delicately sauced with tomatillo. Refried beans to die for (I usually ignore them.) Great complimentary salsas and home made chips - the sign of an authentic Mexican resto. Chalupas with their hand ground beef (no ground chuck here) were fab. Want steak? The Bad Hombre filet comes out sizzling and perfectly done. Wait staff friendly and attentive. Margaritas? Oh my. I could go on.... read more

We went to eat here at 4. The hours on the door says open until 8pm. They placed a sign in front of the door, closed for lunch. Ridiculous.

I met a friend for lunch on Saturday ( Today ). We had no problems with seating that alone should of sent up a red flag. The chips and salsa came quickly and I really liked the chips. When I went into the men's room to wash my hands it was dirty. The old and stained kinda of dirty along with the used paper towels on the floor and the toilet paper roll siting on the back of the rusted toilet tank. I had to ask 3 different times for tea refills and one the staff told me he would be right back and never showed. I ordered the Carne grilled chicken breast that menu described as being served on a sizzling bed of peppers and onions. Well there was nothing sizzling in fact the chicken was barely warm and very dry. My friend and I discovered that their policy is to add their own 20% gratuity ( Thus explaining THE BAD SERVICE ). My friend and I always go dutch and I always pay cash. I held back 87 cents on my check and the waiter had the audacity to bring it back to the table and told me I did not pay my entire bill. Without any discussion I handed him a dollar and asked for my change. He took a little while and brought me back 13 of the nastiest pennies. I left them there. There are way better places to eat in Round Top TX. read more

Manager, who lurks over the restaurant with a scowl, is rude and unwelcoming (I don't know his name but look for the ponytail). The waitstaff is pleasant and tried to keep up. My food, the chalupa, was not as bad as I expected considering the salsa was weak and the menu states many dishes are covered in mozzarella cheese (What? No.) Clearly people are going to come here during antiques week because there aren't a lot of choices in town, so they have to make their money when they can. But I'm not paying more than $10 for a margarita when your bathroom is literally falling apart and you're serving me salsa from Sysco. read more

Fabulous food and fabulous atmosphere. Quality service to top it off! If Tex Mex can be healthy this is it! Best chips we have had in a long time and the sauces are outstanding as are the margaritas! I'm a fan! read more

Very slow service, owner needs to attend!! The food especially the beans taste like plastic, I've had better Mexican food in a hole in the wall place! I've lived near the area for years and really hope the owner stops serving the same thing! I hope he changes things and stays in business bc I hate seeing such a newly re arranged place with such a great atmosphere have such poor food and service. read more

Our initial excitement quickly turned into disappointment. A lick of paint on this quaint Mexican restaurant can not cover up poor service, mediocre food and an arrogant owner. What a shame, hope this changes.... read more

I wouldn't waste my time or money here. Service is horrible, the manager his name is Hector and his an a****hole we waited in line for over 35minutes and a ladie came in 3 minutes after us and she got sat first! It happen twice until I said something. He got very rude and scream at me that it was impossible because of the list and for some reason my name was scratch off... ummm... how convenient. It's also over price for the quality and food. Service took 5minutes to get greeted and 5 more to get my actual drinks. It sucks because people around town get this type of service and quality. I went for the antique show they had going on 237hwy , good thing the show it self was good but def that restaurant is trash! read more

First visit tonight. They took over facility from Los Patrones which was fantastic. Went into a dirty Restroom and when I came out informed the fellow in charge who said he was the owner that there were no paper towels to wash hands with. Also mentioned that he had a high bar to meet to have food as good as previous proprietor. He immediately copped an attitude and told me he didn't need my business. We left immediately. This place has zero chance of success. People in this area will not put up with this sob's attitude. read more

I just took my two little girls here for lunch. Upon entering and being seated by the "manager" he seemed annoyed that we were there. He rudely sat us. They were good and stayed at the table. My one year old dropped a quarter sized drop of queso on her chair. He walked by and disgustingly said "ohhh myyyy Godddd" like we had trashed the restaurant. I will never go back to this place again. Trying to not let his actions ruin the day I have off with my girls. read more

Food was mediocre, arrived at our table cold. Staff was polite but the owner was rude. We waited an hour for our food and it wasn't even crowded since we arrived right at opening time. We waited 20-30 minutes for our check after we finished eating but as soon as the credit card was returned to our table the owner asked us to leave because he needed the table. There are more tactful ways to ask us to leave. read more

Waited 40 minutes for our food after we asked for it. Only saw the waiter one time and that was when he took our order. Our food was very cold when we got it and the queso tasted just like velveeta cheese. The "twice baked refried beans" were gritty and just awful. read more

So disappointed! Taking into account that the place has been open only a couple of weeks and lunch hour today was busy: server was ambivalent and disappeared after taking our order, took forty minutes plus to get our food but only after we inquired about it, food arrived lukewarm, beans were burned and gritty (yuk), ordered a cup of tortilla soup which came in a cup with not more than 2-3 spoonfuls for $5. The soup was cold, tortilla soup is supposed to have avocado & tortilla strips but none were apparent. It was like cream of tomato soup with some "stuff" in it. There were five in our party and no one could stomach the meals ordered. Queso on the food was more like warm velveeta with some tomatoes. Not much flavor to anything. This is part of a restaurant company with other locations. If they don't do something about the quality of service and food they won't be around here very long. We will not be going back. The Mexican restaurant that preceded this one had their act together. Manditos can take a lesson. One positive is that after we voiced our dissatisfaction the meal was comped. I'm wondering how many dollars they've thrown away due to unacceptable service/food quality. Little consolation for having our hopes dashed. Beware!!! read more

Incredibly slow service prior to antiques folks coming to town. I can't imagine how bad it'll be now that the show is ramping up. Food is fine but nothing to write home about. You'd think a long-time restauranteur would know how to staff for crowds. read more

I REALLY want to love Manditos in Round Top, Texas. I love Round Top - it is the cutest, most quaint town half way between Houston and Austin. I spend lots of time there on the weekends and I am always wanting to entertain my guests. The last 3 times I have been to Manditos it has been a huge disappointment and I find myself making excuses. Oh they are busy, oh they are understaffed, oh it's a small town - but at the end of the day the food isn't good either. I have told myself after our last visit on Friday night that I will NOT go back. The best you can get there is chips and salsa and Margaritas - so if you want to go for just that it is ok. Most things we ordered were completely uninspired (those that we got the first time we ordered and didn't have to ask for twice). The Fajitas are basically a sysco version of a fajita already seasoned and thrown on the grill. The chicken in the chalupa was dried out - like it had been sitting and reheated or over cooked (this was not the first time). Some people like the refried beans but they are incredibly greasy - I know they are refried but seriously greasy. I know Manditos can be better because it is run by the same group that owns Lulu's in Round Top - and they have it figured out - it's great every time. If I may be so bold as to offer a suggestion - shrink the menu (like you have at Lulus) - focus on a few things and get them right - fajitas (good ones-like you care), rice, beans, queso, chips, enchiladas! I know people will still come with the sub par food you are throwing together now because it's the only Mexican food for miles, but give them a reason to come back and bring their friends - time and time again. read more

After being a frequent patron of the previous establishment I was sad to see it leave. However after eating now twice here at Mandito's I can say that I am thoroughly pleased with the quality of food and the margaritas are phenomenal! Chips and salsa are on point, the food is fresh with a lite touch. Not your typical heavy Tex-mex. Job well done Armando! read more

All I can say is WOW!! The Mandito's team knows how to do it right! Great menu, amazing drinks, friendly staff and hands-on management! The restaurant's vibe is festive and relaxing...plus you never know who is going to walk in through the door! The food is fresh, drinks cold, prices just right and perfect portions. Great bar and outdoor patio space too with a prime view of the center of town...a definite "must visit" during any Round Top trip!! read more

Great food the bartenders and the servers take very good care of you and always check on you to see if all is well food doesn't take long to come out it does during the antique show sometimes but it's the busiest times of the year it's expected and it's completely understandable. read more

These folks work so hard to give us a great experience!! Was here during show week, and they went above and beyond to seat as quickly as possible and the food and drinks were great! Sooooo good to see these folks twice a year!! read more

I like the chips. Margaritas are too expensive. I haven't found a dish that I really like. I have friends that refuse to go back. I miss Los Patrones. It was such a fun place with delicious food. Therefore, I go to Los Patrones in Giddings. read more

Went in again on Saturday around 5p. Moderately busy but seated immediately. Food literally took 30 minutes to get to our table. My husband ordered tortilla soup and I ordered tacos. No special requirements. Makes no sense why it would take so long. Husband's soup came out cold but we'd waited so long, he didn't send it back. The staff is nice and hard-working but the service has still not gotten better. The food is mediocre at best. It's really disappointing b/c we have such limited choices around here. read more
