Went for a pedicure. The male tech cut my tow nail down and cut my skin, it hurt in the moment but I wasn't sure what happened now two days later my foot is stinging. Part of my toe nails aren't painted and then came home and half my skin was painted. I bought a "deluxe pedicure" $44 to have something I could've done at home plus a cut on my big toe. read more

Winter because it was near my house and the pricing seemed reasonable. They are super family friendly however, every time I've gone, they seem to just wanna give my daughter candy. They didn't respect my wishes and not giving her the candy right away. My daughter even asked me to open one of the candies and I said "when we get home" and the Husband told his wife to just open it and give my daughter the candy. So that was super frustrating that they disrespected what I said, as my daughter's mother, and just opened the candy and gave it to her without regard to what I said. Their service is quick. They get through the acrylic fills in about a half an hour, but the quality of The nails aren't super great. They are a little bumpy and not as smooth as I would have liked. read more

This nail salon is great as soon as u walk in, but not when getting your nails done! First off, they are short staffed with only two people doing the nails and this place is also very busy sometimes. The man that was doing my nails kept getting phone calls and was a bit rude. The lady on the other hand was very sweet and nicer than the man as he slapped my hand when doing my nails to put it in the L.E.D light because I was itching my nose. The vibe was okay but not so calm and peaceful as a nail salon should be. Also, if you get gel nails the man that was doing mine got gel all over my finger and I had to take it off and ruined my nails a bit. He also did not do a good job on my cuticles as he missed so many spots and parts of the cuticle were still on my finger. He also made fun of me bc I bit my nails a lot so they are very short and he had the audacity to say your nails will not look good bc of ur nail biting... I have been coming her for almost 8 years, after getting an infection somewhere else, twice! They are very clean and very nice. It is a relaxing quiet place. They always honor the appointment time. I get gels and a pedicure every 2-3 weeks. I usually get a French manicure and it holds up nicely. The very best part, is if I chip a nail they fix it at no charge with a smile. And my pedicure lasts forever or until I have it taken off. This is a family owned business that has been adversely effected by the pandemic. I was so happy to see them back in business. read more

So I went in to get a gel pedicure and acrylic set with gel. Pedicure was great. Manicure was a little stressful. The original man who did the manicure left after me asking him to touch up certain parts; seemed a little irritated with me but my nails had too much acrylic, they weren't even, and the gel didn't cover the whole nail. He also cut my cuticle with the dremel and I mentioned that I got cut.. he then proceeded to put the dremel on his arm and tell me it wouldn't do that (given I was bleeding). 1. That was unprofessional of him. 2. Very unsanitary. 3. It's pretty rude to try to tell someone that it doesn't hurt, yes it didn't rip your skin on your arm but skin on your arm is a lot more tough than a cuticle plus I was bleeding so I don't understand why he was trying to tell me it didn't hurt. After the first man left the owner (I believe) helped fix the mistakes. The owner was super nice and very professional and I appreciate how they tried to make my nails nice.. personally I'm not too happy with the outcome since they are still very uneven in length and thickness.. some of them aren't even straight. The second man definitely tried his best given the base was done by someone else who was lackadaisical.. I really want to give them the benefit of the doubt with this since they were busy and fixed the issue from the first manicurist. Hopefully my review will be a 5 star my next experience with them... ended up paying $72 for this manicure and a pedicure before tip. read more

I also stopped by this nail salon after reading the reviews. I called about 15 minutes before I arrived telling Tracy that I'd like a mani-pedi and she said great. When I arrived there was no one there The pedicure was wonderful. She was gentle and took her time. It's been a long while since I was there and the color is just now starting to fade. About 15 mins into the pedi another customer arrived and her son came out to work on her. Then about 10 mins after her, an appointment came in but there wasn't anyone there for her. So that meant my manicure was EXTREMELY rushed. She snipped my cuticles so haphazardly that it didn't even look like anything had been done. She also didn't take care to make sure she was filing my nails straight or painting them straight (I got painted white tips) either. I could tell she was rushing so that the appointment wouldn't get mad and leave. Apparently the husband got stuck in traffic and was nearly 40 minutes late to her appointment. The mani-pedi was $30 which was a $2 discount if you did the services separately ($12 manicure, $20 pedicure). The pedicure was totally worth it but the manicure I was dissatisfied with. I've posted pictures of my nails with my phone. You can see the filing dust and grime in the lacquer in one of the pictures and the crooked painting/filing. I would probably go there again (I was just visiting the area) and hope I don't get bumped again because I wasn't as important as another "regular" customer. read more

Poor quality... one star for cleanliness and opening on Sunday. The work that was done looked ok (lots of flaws if you look closely) but did not last. I spent a lot of money to treat myself and my daughter. We went on Sunday, by Tuesday, one nail popped off, another Wednesday, then Thursday and Friday. I have never had acrylics last 3 days. There was no cause or strenuous activity on them. Also, I was not pleased that she insisted on gel top coat and charging me $8 more when I didn't want gel and made that very clear. She said it was necessary for the look I wanted, which was white acrylic powder with clear polish. After saying that's not what I wanted multiple times, I finally gave up and said I'd take the gel and pay. Was there to relax, not argue over what I, the customer, wanted. My pedicure which normally lasts over a month also chipped in a couple days. Bottom line, there are a lot of shops like this in Ventura and Oxnard. There's no reason to go to this place. read more

At Mandalay nails, My first set of nails lasted at least 3 weeks!! No lifting. They use excellent, hi quality products. They actually do what YOU want vs. what they think is best. Dao did my nails this second time. He was very nice, spoke great English and engaged in conversation the whole time, seemingly genuinely interested! Do not come to this place for dip powder or SNS nails.. their technique is to dip your fingers in the bottom coat powder which is white , then paint your nails with a gel polish for 40 bucks .. a complete rip off ! The nail tech tried to convince me that this was a better technique.. do not waste your time or money. I've had my nails less than a week and they've already cracked and peeled .. I work with my hands a lot which is why I prefer the dip powder .. what they're doing her with gel polish is a sham .. it saves them from buying the various dip powder colors -- while charging you more for low quality work read more

The nails are okay but they are too in a rush when they are doing the nails . The lady never wiped my hands with a towel or rag before applying the primer and my nails were still very dry. There's so much lift that 2 weeks in I have to take them off because everything tugs on them. Waste of money. read more

Buyer Beware!!! On 5/17/16 I went in to get a full set. There was no other customers there. The owners (Hanh Nguyen) wife sat down to do my nails. I asked if they could be done in clear or if that was just for natural nails with gel. She said that she can do this. She did all of my nails and as she's doing them another customer came in, I was then shuffled between the husband and the wife to have them completed. When Hanh looked at me nails and saw that she had done clear he shook his in a no manner and started speaking with a harsh tone in their native tongue, so I didn't understand them. (You can see where the tips start so no you can't do this, or at least she can't.) My nails were miss-shaped (she made them so that they where higher at the tip than at the base or at the center instead of going with the natural arch, some of them where flat on the sides, thicker on one side than the other, had ledges, etc I think you get the picture), had sharp area's, lumps, and clumps under the nail. Hanh kept filing them to try to get them shaped correctly. Finally he stopped and asked if I was happy. I told him no and that if this is what they do then I guessed that I would have to live with it. (this is after being there 2 hours) I left unhappy. That night 1-chiped really bad and 2-lifted I went back in the next morning. 5/18/16 The wife sat down with me and said she would fix them. Two more customers came in getting pedi and manicures, and wife started rushing with my nails to the point that she actually started filing my actual nail bed not the artificial nail and burnt the base, she kept stopping and asking if I was happy, I kept showing her what was wrong with them. She would start working on them again for just a couple of second's then stop and repeat are you happy. It was very apparent that she was trying to rush and get me out. The last time she asked. I again showed that nothing has changed and that I was leaving. I walked out the door looking at my nails shaking my head, honestly my nails looked like a beginner did them. The next evening again, 2 broke, and 3 started lifting. On 5/20/16 I called Hanh answered the phone. I explained what happened, I told him that I want them removed and that I want my money back. He told me NO that they fixed them and I was happy with them. I repeated that these new issues happened the night before and then told him that I was filing a complaint and calling my credit card. read more
