TLDR: Even if this place is a bit out of your way, it is absolutely worth it! The best bicycle…read morerepair shop, period!
Now, for the details. I recently moved to the area and have been searching for a local bike shop for maintenance and repairs. Being in transition while building our house has been challenging, as I don't have access to my bike tools. Therefore, I genuinely NEED a bike shop to keep my gear in top shape, even for simple tasks. Upon arriving here, I visited over half a dozen bike shops before discovering Espresso. My first impression was outstanding; Hugo and the team at Espresso would immediately stop what they were doing to greet you and give you their undivided attention. This welcoming gesture goes a long way.
I went to Alafia with my mountain bike and somehow tweaked the gears and rear brake - I suspect a tree had something to do with that. First off, my bike was filthy from being strapped to the back of my truck and enduring the elements for 12 days and 2,500 miles during our cross-country move, not to mention a couple of rides at Alafia. I brought it to Espresso for a tune-up, and they called me just one day later to say it was ready! The turnaround time is impressive (as of writing this review, my two road bikes, dropped off yesterday, are also planned to be ready today). I wasn't able to pick it up the next day, which was a Saturday, but was able to do so on Sunday, notably the only repair shop open on a Sunday.
When I got my bike back, it looked amazing. I have a 29er Giant Trance X, and it looked showroom-ready. The bike was so clean, you could eat off it. Back on the trails, the gears shifted like butter, and the braking was perfect. I can't say enough about Hugo and the team at Espresso. I have five bicycles that all need care, and other shops have missed out on this business. It seems my full-suspension MTB, hardtail, two road bikes, and gravel bike all now have a place for some TLC. Thank you, Espresso! You make this place feel like home!
