I had several additional requests which they accommodated such as adding an extra drain line and additional return vent and all the work was done as requested. Since completion of the job, they have come back on routine maintenance visits to keep the system up and running and the cost of which was included with the original work. I therefore. have been very pleased with after-installation service. Separately, I used them for plumbing, specifically replacing a sink faucet, repairing a garbage disposal, and repairing a leaky shower fixture. I was very pleased with this service as well. Especially the garbage disposal because all it needed was a minor turn of a crank to loosen it up instead of a full replacement, which saved me a significant amount of money. Obviously, overall, I'm very happy with their services. I will be using them again and highly recommend.

It's unbelievable but some companies required upfront deposit even before assessment of the issue. Our technician,Brian, was on time, called prior, came with shoe covers, quickly identified problems with toilet, gave us estimates and couple options to think about. I called next morning and next business day he returned and completed repair. Again on time, very professional and leave no dirt or waste after job. Prices are horribly high now everywhere, but plumbing can't be avoided,so their price point is adequate to area, but service is superb. Can't deduct star for high prices, because they are using gas and supplies which are horrible now.

Do you need a new water heater? This is the company to get if you don't want to wait!…read more Luckily my hot water heater finally decided to die in the middle of the summer. However, cold showers get old after the first one. Anyways, I assumed it was repairable due to clogged valves or needed replacement as it was over 10 years old and maybe much older. I called this company up because of the reviews and anything veteran owned is usually legit. Nassim was my technician and he can right in the middle of the service window scheduled. He immediately found the issue and gave me two options - repair or replace. I decided to replace because I know the water supply in this community tends to have a lot of minerals buildup. I'm glad I did. Upon removing the old hot water heater, a ton of deposits was found. I may have been missing out on full powered showers for years. Not anymore! Highly recommended. No BS. No upsell. Time to shower and be clean again!

They installed a hydronic heating system as part of the remodel and I've just finished replacing most of the pipe work that they installed that caused the system to not work well. Mostly poorly routed piping, low flow issues, and flow balancing. After completing this I still had one radiator that was non-functional so I got into a crawlspace to see what the issue was. They had plumbed the supply and return for the radiator to the same pipe. So no flow at all to the unit. I wouldn't even have them back for repairs given what I see now of their installation work. Poor installer skills, poor quality control, and not inexpensive.

However I was then told via email that it was against code to have a gas water heater in the attic and that they'd have to relocate it. When I asked for more details/sources on the regulations I was then told that they wouldn't be able to do the work because they were too busy--it was a very sketchy response. Others companies have told me that it's not against regulations to have a gas water heater in the attic but that best practice is to avoid keeping it in the attic, if possible. Won't reach out again for an estimate.

He walked me through all the things he was finding, and really took his time to inspect and educate me. Because of his thorough inspection, I ultimately decided not to move forward on purchasing the house I had under contract. I was able to make this decision and be okay with it because he provided so much education and context. I am so appreciative. I now have a better idea of what to look for AND I will definitely be following up with Jamie again when I do decide to restart my home-hunt. Thanks, Jamie!

It seems like the inspector is more for the seller rather then the buyer who is hiring them for contingencies. I have done construction management and commissioning before so I dont know how in my case where a window latch on an exterior window thats UPSTAIRS is considered a low priority where there is a fall risk, wind/gust that goes through since it cannot fully latch and would need a potential replacement - which in hand did not help our case with settling on the deal to get this resolved. Literally handed us a paper and not even a follow up call to discuss the contingencies on the home. All I got told was that they only look visually and even when I looked you could see it is a bigger issue than what it was marked as. Waste of $475 that I could've done myself, oh and when I email the owner Hulbert, same half response of excusing the poor inspection that was done. I do not recommend this inspector company whatsoever. I forgot to mention - his wife when I told her the situation told me "This happens when you get a home" like what kind of response is that, don't know but this family business is beyond disappointing and a let down to put it nicely. This establishment lacks the actual foundation of what and who they're doing this for. Also the inspection was 30 minutes for a 3 bedroom and 3 bathroom house.... I've seen people thoroughly inspect homes smaller and take longer.

Called Friday morning and the receptionist was amazing and got someone to our house that morning. Full diagnostic told us the compressor went bad. Our unit was 13 years old, so it was about time for a new system. We decided to replace whole system as replacing a compressor is quite expensive basically half the cost of a new one. Mike came that night to price out a new system. I got two quotes from other companies. But decided on Shanahan because of their reputation, service as well as pricing. Talked with Mike and Conner (the owner) about our options and they came on a Saturday to install even though they didn't have an opening until Thursday. The owner himself came with a couple guys and replaced our system. They were very polite, did excellent work and we were back up and running. Plus they had very affordable pricing. These guys care! I've used them twice and both times it took over 5 months to get permits to pass (they had to fix multiple mistakes) which honestly isn't all that bad but it's just impossible to get through to the office. Doing everyone here a favor - this phone number will go through the the main office (it's the plumbing line): 703-366-2355. The one that's listed on the website will go to a call center and that's a black hole, you'll never hear back. In general they are very slow to respond to issues and don't keep good notes. A new technician will arrive every time and they never seem to know any history so it's just a nightmare. I will say the techs I generally don't have a problem with, it's the back-office, disorganization, and fear of managers to deal with customers - it's very disappointing and frustrating. Hire at your own risk, you will be responsible for all the project management of the install - they suck out loud at follow through. Also, they damaged my door and tried to hide it. It's a steel door and the excuse the tech gave me afterwards is that water tanks are heavy, it's bound to happen. What?!

I had spoke with a young lady online for ARS and asked specially did they pick up at Lowes---she said sure. The young gentleman came around 3:30 to do the estimate and I asked about the pick up at Lowe's. No we do pick up at Lowes and deliver, but you are there installer. I said, I asked before the purchase, he stated those people in front office do not know and they do not live here. What? Then he went to Van to provide me a quote...Just was quoted $2700.00. The unit at Lowe's was $509.00; not sure why it has been quote like purchasing a used car. So disappointed with Lowe's as having ARS as their many source for installation.
