We were given multiple removal dates and eventually had to take some of the lights down ourselves, even though we had paid for full takedown service. Otherwise, we had a great experience and really appreciated the quality of the installation.

I also asked him to wrap the bushes with lights and wished I would have taken his suggestions to wrap every bush instead of every other bush. Oh wells - I'll definitely do it next year!! This might not fix everything and then we might need to replace the electrical components ($1500 additional) - Company 2: $1500 for a new controller and installation, but only recommend 1 type (with a cumbersome looking app) - Latham: $200 (2-hour minimum site visit) to install new controller and can use any extra time to address other issues. We were able to research controllers and bought one we liked (~$200) that had great reviews and an amazing app. Trevor was reliable, showing up on time for the quote and later for the work. After I initially left a voicemail, he responded within 2 business days, then we corresponded by text. Clear communication by text (though sometimes there is a 1-2 day delay). He is usually booked 2 weeks in advance, but worth the wait! On the day of the installation, Trevor was even able to stay an extra hour and fixed a zone that never worked for us AND he replaced some sprinkler heads that were old and not working well. He even let my husband tag along to learn. So total he charged us $325 ($100 for the extra hour, $25 for sprinkler heads). My husband was so happy that he rounded it up to $400! Trevor really saved our butt on this stressor. I thought earlier with the first astronomical quote that we would just have to live with a dead yard. He is our sprinkler guy now and we highly recommend him!

He told me he didn't have capacity at the time to do any major landscaping, but that he could fit us into his schedule for bi-monthly maintenance and could start to address some of the bigger cleanup issues a little at a time that way. I told him that I would give notice to the current gardeners, and we agreed to touch base shortly to nail down his exact start date. And I never heard from him. Even after I left him two voicemails. Nothing. Just totally blown off. No explanation or response of any kind. I don't write many reviews - especially negative ones - but I thought other busy working parents (or anyone else with a to-do list many feet long, who doesn't have time to screw around or have their efforts wasted) should know. I am baffled as to what kind of business person treats potential new clients that way. I find it unprofessional and inconsiderate, to say the least. Based on the reviews I read here, I called Marty. I wanted a beautiful lawn in my backyard. I had…read moretried to seed it twice with no success-not because of all my weeds, but mostly because the irrigation system wasn't working. And, I didn't water it enough the old fashion way. And my 2 year old pup preferred to destroy both attempts. Marty returned my call and scheduled a visit within days. He was honest and gave wise advise for this budgeting educator. He suggested that I go with sod (with a dog) and must have working irrigation to maintain it. Marty knew I had a tight budget and discussed ways to keep the cost down. He really took the time to listen and covered all options. The estimate arrived a few days later and once I signed and sent 10%, his crew showed up a week before the date they had promised. Marty and his crew are hard working- After 6 hours of non-stop work for 4-6 men, my backyard of dirt and weeds was transformed into a lush sod lawn. Marty helped me cut costs by repairing my irrigation system instead of installing a new one. This turned out to be more work and time for him too. He also suggested I buy a cheap automatic water timer at a local hardware store instead of him buying me a commercial grade timer at 3x the cost. Knowing I do not have a green thumb, Marty took the time to make sure I knew how to take care of the sod and work the irrigation. Most impressive, however, was that 2-3 weeks after the installation, there was a problem with a nozzle and a small section of sod didn't survive (as it wasn't getting watered). I called Marty. No response. I called a few days later. No response. I thought, "oh great, I payed the man in full and now I won't hear from him". SURPRISE. Marty was on vacation and called me as soon as he returned the following week. He came out three days later, replaced the dead patch and faulty nozzle. At no extra cost. That's Marty's work ethic. I highly recommend Marty for your yard needs. My pup and I couldn't be happier.

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I ended up going with Same Day Dumpster and was very pleased with the experience. Erick was by far the quickest to reply, his responses were the most professional of the bunch, and his pricing was well defined. He was a little bit more expensive than some of the other quotes that came in, but the quotes I received from other providers were pretty nebulous and seemed to have other strings attached that could potentially drive the price up beyond the quoted price. In any case, I had the dumpster in and out in one day, but Erick did offer the flexibility to keep the dumpster on site for multiple days if needed without driving up the quote, which I appreciated. The drop off and retrieval were both right on time as scheduled by Erick. No issues! PS - If you live in a townhome complex situation where it's hard to see / identify street numbers, I would advise making sure to be on site when the dumpster delivery comes in. If I hadn't been there to direct the driver, the dumpster would have ended up in my neighbor's driveway.

I live in a flat in San Francisco so it's a fact that we have limited storage space at home. For years I've been switching out my "winter" clothes and "summer" clothes twice yearly, placing the out-of-season clothes in our garage storage area. Not only is this a big pain but it is not logical either. San Francisco does not even have winter... or summer! A few weekends ago I found myself doing "the swap" and decided this was going to be the last time! I got onto craigslist and found a great deal on some IKEA PAX Wardrobes. The problem was I had no means (or time) to get those particleboard giants from Mountain View to SF. Where Task Rabbit and other movers failed, Goltry Moving Services succeeded. I called Christian on a Wednesday morning at 8:30 and he was in Mountain View by 12:30 PM that day disassembling the wardrobes for delivery. He quoted me a very fair flat rate to disassemble three wardrobes and move them from MV to SF. No add-on costs for the dis-assembly work. No add-on fees for mileage or drive time. No add-ons for bridge tolls (I know there is no bridge between MV and SF but some other guy wanted me to pay his bridge toll because he lived in the East Bay - and so does Christian). The dis-assembly work took longer than expected but Christian was not at all upset when he called to let me know (I love that he cared enough to update me on the progress). He was mostly concerned that the work was done correctly without damaging the wardrobes. He kept track of all the hardware and delivered the bits and pieces to me in a plastic bag. Nothing was missing! I felt bad about the whole thing taking so long so I helped him unload his van when he got to my place. I wanted him to get back across the bay before traffic got too bad! Not only did Christian do a great job with the move but he was super nice and a pleasure to work with. I hope I don't need any moving services in the near future but if\when I do I will definitely contact Christian again. I moved last month from Alameda, Ca, to Mesa AZ. I rented and drove the truck. I was given Christian Goltry's business card from a truck rental company in Alameda, and I was glad, because I had a great move and with nothing being damaged. I hired Christian just to load, as we did our own packing. He and his crew reported on time and for over 5 hours worked very quickly and efficiently to fully load the 26 feet truck I had rented. The truck was loaded very efficiently and he assured that all my belongings fitted in the truck, and also no damaged was done to the house, especially since it had small rooms and a tight corridor.The truck was loaded so that when I arrived at my destination, after 750 miles, nothing had shifted out of place nor damaged. Christian and crew were very courteous and professional. He even helped me with the car Dolly I towed. The fees were more than reasonable, and much less than I been quoted by other movers I had contacted for hourly estimates. I highly recommend him to anyone. Christian helped me moving a Queen size bed from SF to Alameda. He was on-time, friendly, and professional. We had great conversation while sitting in traffic! Plus, he is super skilled at navigating his van around SF, and parking and everything despite all the tight turns and narrow streets. This guy is really good at what he does. And he has a lot of experience over the years, working for other people as well as for himself. (Even though he was already helping me, I basically interviewed him in the car.) I would have been at a total loss without him and it would have taken me much longer if I had tried to do it myself with a u haul truck. I think the most impressive part of his work was not how efficiently and thoroughly he wrapped the bed in shrink wrap, or disassembled the bedframe... it was how considerate he was of other people at all times during the process. Everything from how we lined the stuff up in a narrow hallway, to how he parked the van for loading. Stop researching and contact Goltry Moving Services right now. After living above Christian for two years, my wife and I can personally vouch for him. We recently moved during the holiday season and Christian was able to move us across town with little notice. Everything was included from the u-haul to the blankets and shrink-wrap protecting your belongings, to the first class service and positive nonstop attitude. We even had to beg him to stop and take lunch. Even then, it was one bite, move one item...one more bite, move another item. If you haven't already made up your mind, here's one last point. The morning of, Christian called his regular u-haul pickup. They assured him the correct size truck was available. He went to get the truck and the keys were not there. He went to another u-haul location and 8 of their trucks had stolen batteries. He had to go to a third location to get a smaller truck and didn't charge us for the extra trip to get the rest of the items that didn't fit the first time. Talk about going the extra mile. After reading a few reviews for other companies I found on Craigslist, I decided on Christian's company for the competitive price he quoted and his warm demeanor over the phone. I had a jr. one-bedroom with some large/heavy/fragile items (sleeper sofa, mahogany desk, glass coffee table, boxes of art/architecture books). He and his assistant carried the sofa down four flights of a spiral staircase and up two flights at my new place, and they kindly moved things to the upstairs master bedroom for me even though I had neglected to mention those stairs to him in our initial conversation (another windy staircase, no less)--other companies would have tried to charge me more, but Christian took it all in stride. OUTSTANDING MOVING SERVICES: I got Christian moving company off Craigslist, I hesitated because the first one I called did not show up. Christian assisted me in moving all of my-too-much-stuff from Oakland to my new home on the Peninsula. While I had a whole van-full of belongings, I had little furniture; the biggest item I had was a queen sized mattress Christian is a great communicator, met me in Oakland 4 hours after I contacted him, and was punctual. He is pleasant, friendly, and works efficiently. His van is clean, and he has all the needed supplies for moving (blankets, saran-wrap, dollies). He accepts cash, checks, or PayPal. A few days before the move date, he asked if he could come an hour earlier and I agreed to that since it worked better for my schedule. He never showed up, left us high and dry, and left us screwed. He ended up totally ghosting me and blocked my calls and messages out of nowhere. I only found out when I texted him to see what time he would arrive on the day of the move. I was left scrambling to find a mover at the very last minute. This caused a huge financial burden since I had to find new flights, also. This company is unreliable and unprofessional. I do not recommend.

During the move, the driver hit and disconnected a cable line at our origin, knocking out service and creating additional stress while I was managing work on the backend. Accidents happen, but it set the tone. More concerning was how the bed itself was handled. The movers arrived without tools and used ours to disassemble it. When they reassembled the bed, they failed to properly tighten the screws, and one of the four critical support pieces that hold the bed frame together was missing entirely. I didn't discover this until a few weeks later, when the bed nearly collapsed. I have a baby and a dog at home, and the situation could have ended very badly. If a part was lost or damaged, we would have appreciated transparency. Instead, we were left with an unsafe setup and no communication. We tipped 20% at the time, assuming the job had been done properly, which makes the situation even more disappointing. I reached out to the company afterward and never received a response. Terrible...

We used them to move my now-husband from his one bedroom apartment to our townhouse…read more We had their packing service pack up most of his apartment the day before the move. Two ladies came over. One was good and fast, the other was clearly new and needed constant instruction from the other lady, slowing down the process. As a result, when they left after 5 hours, there was still packing for us to do. Moving day we were unpleasantly told that their regular truck was broken, so they were going to use a smaller U-Haul to move our stuff. The truck they rented was too small to carry all of our stuff, and the movers probably spent an hour or two trying to rearrange the furniture to try to make it fit. Finally, they decided that two trips were necessary. Ryan's Express Moving did not charge us for the time for the second trip, but it was still a 12 hour move (they charged us 9 hours) to move a one bedroom apartment into a two bedroom townhouse less than an hour's drive away. Mind you, the apartment had a dedicated moving elevator with direct access to the moving truck, and the truck parked right in front of the townhouse. That's a slow move. In general, I've always had good luck with my movers, but my husband always has bad luck, and Ryan's Express Moving extended his unlucky streak.
